Story
Meet Ziggy! Ziggy is a fun-loving, energetic 1-year-old girl who’s always ready to be the center of attention. If you’re looking for a dog who adores affection, loves belly rubs, and wants to be right by your side, Ziggy is your girl! She’s full of enthusiasm and personality, and her happy energy is contagious. Ziggy is a smart pup who enjoys learning, especially when treats are involved. She already knows sit and is continuing to work on her manners, including her jumping and leash skills. She’s a strong puller on leash right now, but with consistency and positive training, she has all the potential to become a great walking buddy. Ziggy would do best in a home that can support her training and energy level, ideally with older kids or adults who can help her continue developing her manners and skills. When playtime rolls around, Ziggy truly shines. She’s a big fan of toys and loves staying busy, whether that’s playing, training, or engaging in fun activities with her people. Ziggy thrives on interaction and enjoys soaking up attention from her favorite humans. With her playful spirit and love for companionship, Ziggy will be happiest in a home that keeps her physically and mentally engaged, where she can enjoy adventures, continue learning, and share plenty of quality time with her people.   Ziggy at a Glance Age: 1 year old Personality: Energetic, affectionate, playful, and people-loving Training: Knows sit; working on jumping and leash manners Favorite Activities: Playing with toys, getting belly rubs, enjoying treats, and spending time with people ##2482928##

Story
Name: Maggie Age: 5 Years Gender: Spayed Female Weight: 50 pounds Breed: Heeler Mix Adoption Fee: $250 Am I good with: Kids: Yes Cats: Yes Dogs: Meet and Greet Required About Me: Hi, I'm Maggie, like the name suggests, I'm a classic, dependable girl with a spark of fun! I'm sweet as can be and still have a bit of pep in my step. I love spending time with my people, whether we're out for a walk or just hanging out together. I am heartworm positive, but don't worry, treatment is covered, and I'm already on the path to feeling better. I've got just the right mix of mellow and playful, and I'm ready to be your loyal companion through it all! I have been at the ARP since 6/27/25 and am currently at the rescue. The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.
