Story
Stop and smell the Orchid! This 7 month old pup isn’t just a flower—she’s the whole blooming garden. She's young, she's sweet, and she's got just the right amount of wild to keep life interesting. Think of her as your personal ray of sunshine with four paws and a wagging tail. Watching her zoom around the yard is quite entertaining! Orchid may have started as a stray, but she’s ready to be your forever bouquet. She came in with a collar—clearly someone once loved her—but now she’s looking for a fresh start and a family who won’t leave her on “paws.” She’s smart, she’s observant, and she’s taking notes on how to be the best girl ever (hint: treats help). She seems curious about other dogs, so bring your pup to see if Orchid is their new BFF. Don’t let her grow up behind a kennel door—plant some love in your life and come pick this Orchid today! Story
NEWBIE ALERT!  This adorable pup is Chessie. She is coming to us from a local overcrowded shelter. She is a heeler mix. She’s 1 year old and 23 lbs. She is the sweetest girl and is playful and loving.. She’s  good with other dogs and people. She has settled into foster care and is doing wonderful. She is utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and spayed.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications!
