Story
Say hello to Lost, a sweet and gentle 1 year old girl who’s a little timid but full of lots of love to give. Found wandering with her brother Larue, they came to the shelter as strays and no one came looking for them. Lost is patiently waiting for a nurturing home where she can feel safe and cherished. She adores treats and likes to be petted once she gets to know you a bit. She seems a little too interested in kitties just FYI. She’ll need guidance, confidence-building, and some leash training, her quiet devotion and tender heart make every bit of encouragement worthwhile. Lost is overwhelmed by the shelter’s busy environment, but in a loving home we know she will thrive and grow into a steadfast, gentle companion who will always be grateful to the family that gives her a second chance. By adopting me today you will save the life of two pets -- you'll save me and that will make room for the Shelter to rescue and save another pet.

UPDATE!!  Meet Sid! He and his siblings were saved from a not so good situation. They got settled into foster care today and are doing awesome. Mom is a heeler mix around 35 lbs. We believe dad is a lab. They likely will be medium sized adults. They are 7-8 weeks. They are spunky and full of personality. They will be adoption ready in 2 weeks once they have had 2 rounds of vaccines and they are altered! We are taking applications and reserving to the perfect homes!  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $195 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $145 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Thank you! Story
NEWBIE ALERT!!&#226&#156&#168 Meet Hank The Goofiest, Sweetest Boy Looking for His Forever Home!  Hank is a 1.5 year old Australian Cattle Dog mix with a heart full of love and a whole lot of personality. This boy is equal parts goofy and sweet, and he absolutely lives for playing with other dogs. He adores people and kids too. Everyone is a friend in Hank’s world! Hank is very energetic and thrives in a home that can give him plenty of physical exercise and mental stimulation. He wouldn’t do well in a low activity household. When he’s under stimulated, he can chew and bark out of boredom, so he truly needs an active, engaged home that can keep up with him. A few things about Hank: • About 1.5 years old • Knows sit, lie down, and place • Learning heel and turn (heel = walk on your left, turn = switch to your right) • Extremely food and toy motivated • Great with other dogs and loves to play • Absolutely loves water and will happily lay in the little blue plastic pools if they’re filled with water or ice. Water time is his favorite time! If you’re looking for a fun, active, loyal companion and you’ve got the time to keep up with a smart, energetic boy. Hank might be the perfect fit. He’s utd, hw tested and neutered.
