Story
Say hello to Lost, a sweet and gentle 8 month old girl who’s a little timid but full of lots of love to give. Found wandering with her brother Larue, they came to the shelter as strays and no one came looking for them. Lost is patiently waiting for a nurturing home where she can feel safe and cherished. She adores treats and likes to be petted once she gets to know you a bit. She seems a little too interested in kitties just FYI. She’ll need guidance, confidence-building, and some leash training, her quiet devotion and tender heart make every bit of encouragement worthwhile. Lost is overwhelmed by the shelter’s busy environment, but in a loving home we know she will thrive and grow into a steadfast, gentle companion who will always be grateful to the family that gives her a second chance. By adopting me today you will save the life of two pets -- you'll save me and that will make room for the Shelter to rescue and save another pet.

Story
Meet Olive, a gentle and affectionate 9 month old pup whose sweet, submissive nature makes her an absolute joy to be around. Say hello to Brandy, a sweet 2 year old with a playful spirit and a tender personality. Brandy and her sister Sandy, along with their pal Randy, were abandoned in Lucedale, but Brandy’s gentle curiosity and loveable quirks are ready to shine in a forever home. She enjoys yard time, whether it’s running, exploring, or simply lounging in the shade, and she just wants a family to love and care for her. A little timid at first, she blossoms with warmth and patience, and bringing Brandy home means you’ll be welcoming a lifetime of cuddles, companionship, and a truly special adoption story. And if you’ve got extra love in your heart, adopt Randy too because he really needs to go home with at least one of his pals. He’s quite bonded to them. Story
Meet Sandy, a 2 year old little lady with a shy smile and a heart full of curiosity. She came from Lucedale with her sister Brandy and their buddy Randy, and though no one came looking for them, Sandy hasn’t lost her spark. She’s a quirky, gentle girl who loves to stretch her legs in the yard or just lounge in the shade while soaking up love. Timid at first, she warms quickly to kindness and would thrive in a home that gives her patience, affection, and a sense of family. Give Sandy a chance, and you might just find that she’s been waiting all along to become the heart of your home. Or better yet, bring Randy home too as he’s very bonded to his pals! Story
Miley is an 8 month old Blue Heeler with a spark in her step, a twinkle in her eye, and a whole lot of “let’s go!” packed into her perfectly medium-sized body. Found as a stray in Pascagoula with no one coming to claim her, she’s making up for lost time with her spunky, sweet, and wildly charming personality. True to her heeler roots, Miley is smart, energetic, hilariously opinionated, and happiest when she has a job—whether that’s helping you supervise snacks, rounding up her dog buddies, or being your official adventure co-pilot. She loves friendly, carefree dogs who don’t mind her quirky herding ways, and adopters familiar with heelers will know that to help a girl like Miley thrive, she needs structure, activity, brain games, and plenty of outlets for her brilliant little mind. She may look bigger in pictures, but she’s actually a compact powerhouse of joy—a spitfire in the best possible way. If you’re ready for adventure, she’s already grabbing her metaphorical backpack and trotting to the door… now all she needs is someone to invite her along for the rest of her years. By adopting me today you will save the life of two pets -- you'll save me and that will make room for the Shelter to rescue and save another pet.

Story
UPDATE! &#226&#156&#168 Meet Pretty Girl! This sweet girl was taken in by a Good Samaritan but they are older and she would do better in a more active household. She’s a gorgeous mix breed. She is 2.5 years old and 57 lbs. She’s super sweet and great with all size dogs and kids. She would love a playmate or an active person to go on adventures with. She loves the outdoors and to explore. She’s great in the house and on a leash. She is utd, hw tested and spayed.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Thank you!
