Story
Meet Tortellini, a sweet 1-year-old girl who’s ready to leave her rough start behind and find her forever family. Found as a stray in Vancleave and sadly never reclaimed, this gentle girl has had a tough time, but she’s already on the road to recovery! Her fur may look a little rough now, but with some love and care, she’s going to be absolutely gorgeous. Tortellini’s favorite thing in the world is cuddling, and she’s hoping her new family will make plenty of time for snuggles. She’s the kind of girl who will love curling up beside you, offering comfort and affection. Tortellini is also social and seems to enjoy the company of other dogs, so feel free to bring yours for a meet and greet. Despite her past, she’s incredibly sweet and gentle, and her healing exterior doesn’t take away from the loving heart inside. If you're looking for a cuddly companion who will brighten your days with her sweet nature, Tortellini could be the one. Stop by and ask to meet her today—she’s ready to start a new chapter with a family who sees her for the beautiful, loving pup she truly is! By adopting me today you will save the life of two pets -- you'll save me and that will make room for the Shelter to rescue and save another pet.

UPDATE!!&#226&#156&#168 These pitiful teeny pups have found themselves at a local overcrowded shelter. They appear to be Heeler/terrier mixes. They are around 9 weeks and 3-4 lbs. Thankfully, we secured a foster and they have settled into foster care and have been treated for their parasites and skin infections. They will be ready in the coming weeks after 2 rounds of vaccines and they are altered.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Thank you! Story
UPDATE!! This adorable boy is Vincent. He and his siblings were saved from a local overcrowded shelter.  We are unsure of the breed but believe they will be smaller/medium sized adults. Our guess is terrier mix but Vincent definitely has a smaller build and characteristics of a chi mix. They are around 10-12 weeks now. Vincent is 4ish lbs. He has settled into foster care and is doing wonderful. He’s great with all people and animals. His eyes are simply stunning. He will get second vaccines and neutered on 2/5/25 and will then be adoption ready.   Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! UPDATE!&#226&#156&#168 Meet Kavi! This sweet girl is being pulled from a rural overcrowded shelter with her one surviving baby! Kavi is a cattle dog mix. She’s around 2 years old and 40 lbs. She’s a super sweet girl. She gets along with other dogs but isn’t a fan of other alpha or protective female dogs. She’s wonderful with all males. She just wants to be loved by her person and be with them at all times. She’s beyond loyal. Shes great in the house and very smart. She picks up on commands quickly and aims to please. She is utd, hw tested and spayed! Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. Story
Are you ready to meet the cutest little bundle of joy? Say hello to FB, the 4-month-old puppy who's stealing hearts everywhere! FB was adopted locally and found himself at a kill shelter. For Pet's Sake Rescue went and got him out of jail and he is now back with us. He was not loved to the capacity that we expected. He is still quite a puppy learning basic training but he is a love bug waiting for the right home that will keep him forever this time.  FB is not just any puppy; he’s a social butterfly! His outgoing nature makes him incredibly friendly and easy to get along with, whether it’s humans, cats or other dogs. It’s no surprise that he’s a favorite among everyone who meets him. Here are some personality traits that make FB truly special: Playful: FB is always up for a game of fetch or a playful romp in the yard. His energy is contagious, and he can turn a dull afternoon into a fun-filled adventure. Curious Explorer: FB loves to investigate his surroundings. Whether it’s sniffing out new scents or exploring every nook and cranny of the house, his inquisitive nature keeps him engaged and active. Social: This little pup thrives on social interactions. He enjoys meeting new friends and is always excited to say hello to anyone who crosses his path.   PLEASE READ THIS TO ADOPT:   Completed applications take precedence over inquiries. If you are interested in adopting, the FIRST step is to complete an application. For Pet's Sake Rescue is a Mississippi based rescue. ***ALL ANIMALS ARE CURRENTLY IN MISSISSIPPI.*** We transport adopted animals every 2-3 weeks to Northeast states.  ***Breed input is required for each platform but is not guaranteed to be accurate. We do not breed or DNA test.*** Adoption fees include transport, vetting and a MS Health Certificate to travel. Each pet is spayed/neutered, receives age appropriate vaccines, dewormed, heartworm tested (6 months of age and older) microchipped and has current flea/tick/heartworm prevention.  You can visit our website at www.forpetssakerescue.org for our full adoption process and adoption application. We are currently unable to adopt pets to ME and RI residents. ##2185883##
