Story
Looking for a new fur baby? Why not meet Robbie, the one-of-a-kind, 3 year old altered male dog with a playful side. He came to us as a stray from Fayette County. Robbie is a fun-loving, energetic, and adventurous pup who loves to play, run around, and explore. He has a big heart and loves giving lots of kisses to his human friends. Robbie is not sure about how he feels about other four-legged friends, so a meet and greet is required. His ideal home would be with a family who can give him all the love and attention he deserves. If you're interested in meeting this special boy, please come by and visit him. Robbie can't wait to show you what a great dog he is!

Story
Meet Max. This little pup is blue heeler mix (just a guess!) He is 3 months old and is ornery with a side of vocal when he doesn’t get what he wants. He can live with dogs, cats, and kids. He likely will be a decent sized dog when full grown. He will need help with house training and getting through his puppy stage. ** Max is in our care in Altoona PA. He is available for adoption. Each animal gets microchipped, spayed/neutered, 4DX tested (if over 6 months of age), flea treated, and vaccinated. The adoption fee covers those costs. Adoption fees are listed on the application. An application must be filled out in order to visit with any dog or cat. They can be found on our website www.centralpahumane.org under the “Adopt A Pet” tab, then “Adoption.” Scroll down and under number 2 you will see dog adoption application. Do not click on “browse our pets.” Applications are also available at the shelter. Our animals are posted on Facebook and Petfinder when time permits. A Petfinder inquiry is not an application, and they may not be responded to. We can only accept so many applications for each animal. We do adopt out of state, but we cannot hold the animal. **PA Kennel License #1333.

Story
Peetey was one of the 90+ dogs that were rescued from deplorable conditions on New Year's Eve. This beautiful boy has gone through unimaginable things, and you would never know it with how sweet he is. Peetey has never been in a typical household that we know of, so he is going to need training and most importantly patience. He is just now starting to learn how to be a dog and would truly benefit from a slow paced and quiet lifestyle while he is still learning how to be himself. If you think Peetey would be a great addition to your household, please apply or call for more information.

Story
Hi there! My name is Jack, and I’m a smart, spirited Blue Heeler mix searching for my forever home. At just a year and a half old, I’m the perfect mix of playful energy and growing maturity. I weigh about 47 pounds and have a big heart to match! I was found as a stray and spent some time living on a farm, where I proved to be a friendly guy with everyone — people, dogs, even livestock (well… except for chickens. Let’s just say we agreed to disagree). Because of that, I probably wouldn’t be the best match for a home with cats or chickens. I’ve been fostered with kids and other dogs, and I did great with them! Older children who can keep up with my active lifestyle would be best. I do enjoy the company of other pups, though I sometimes like to be the boss — but hey, someone has to be in charge! At the end of the day, I’m all about my people and love being close to them. I’m a total goofball who loves toys, treats, and anything that gets me moving. I can jump super high (especially for snacks!), and my foster mom says I’d be amazing at agility. I don’t know what that means exactly, but it sounds like a blast! I’m very food-motivated and eager to learn — training with me will be fun and rewarding. House trained? You bet! I even go to the door to let you know when it’s time to go out. Crate trained? We're working on it. I sleep through the night in my crate but would much rather hang out with you during the day.‍ Leash manners? Getting better! However a minimum 4 ft fenced in yard is a requirement for me.  I'm neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all my vaccinations — all packed up and ready to move in with my forever family. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving pup who’s ready to explore, learn, and love big — I’m your guy. Apply today to meet me as I'm available now through Paws Across Pittsburgh, Springdale, PA KL #16182. ##2303243##
