Story
Betts (Rudy) is an awesome dog and oh so handsome!  He’s a 60pound, 13 month old red heeler and possibly Pyrenees mix. He’s a very smart boy and loves to work on training since he’s very food motivated. He is house and crate trained.  He goes 9 hours through the night without making a peep. He is a dog that prefers to have his own space. When he sees you get his food bowl ready, he immediately goes to his feeding spot and sits, waiting for permission to start eating his food. He goes and sits on his bed, after being brought in from outside, to get his feet wiped. He knows sit, down, stay, watch and touch, and is learning to walk nicely on a leash.  His recall is impressive. He’s a “velcro dog” that wants to be with you but with respectful boundaries.  He loves to be outside and active, even in the cold weather.  He’ll be a great walking, hiking, running partner or farm companion. Once he’s gotten some exercise, he’s happy to snooze on his bed.  Yes, he has herding instincts, but he doesn’t chase the livestock unless they start running and then he can’t resist joining in the fun.  He’s a pretty chill guy, but kids can make him very nervous so he is not recommended for a household with kids. An active home is a must do him but he mostly prefers  actively unloading horses or livestock (yes we know that is his dream!). Outdoor green space is necessary for this good ole boy - he is not a city slicker! ##2179601##

Story
Hi there! My name is Jack, and I’m a smart, spirited Blue Heeler mix searching for my forever home. At just a year and a half old, I’m the perfect mix of playful energy and growing maturity. I weigh about 47 pounds and have a big heart to match! I was found as a stray and spent some time living on a farm, where I proved to be a friendly guy with everyone — people, dogs, even livestock (well… except for chickens. Let’s just say we agreed to disagree). Because of that, I probably wouldn’t be the best match for a home with cats or chickens. I’ve been fostered with kids and other dogs, and I did great with them! Older children who can keep up with my active lifestyle would be best. I do enjoy the company of other pups, though I sometimes like to be the boss — but hey, someone has to be in charge! At the end of the day, I’m all about my people and love being close to them. I’m a total goofball who loves toys, treats, and anything that gets me moving. I can jump super high (especially for snacks!), and my foster mom says I’d be amazing at agility. I don’t know what that means exactly, but it sounds like a blast! I’m very food-motivated and eager to learn — training with me will be fun and rewarding. House trained? You bet! I even go to the door to let you know when it’s time to go out. Crate trained? We're working on it. I sleep through the night in my crate but would much rather hang out with you during the day.‍ Leash manners? Getting better! However a minimum 4 ft fenced in yard is a requirement for me.  I'm neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all my vaccinations — all packed up and ready to move in with my forever family. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving pup who’s ready to explore, learn, and love big — I’m your guy. Apply today to meet me as I'm available now through Paws Across Pittsburgh, Springdale, PA KL #16182. ##2303243##

Story
Flora came to us as a stray two years ago. No one ever came looking for her. She is affectionate and playful once she gets to know and trust you, and is very loyal with her people. She likes walking and exploring the field with volunteers. With new people, she can be aloof and selective with whom she likes. Flora is very fearful of sudden movements and loud noises. She likes women best. Flora wants to trust people and needs a patient, understanding person who will help her gain confidence and love her, despite her quirks. Flora does have a bite history.

Story
Petunia is a sweet and smart, exuberant young doggie. We adopted her from a rescue in Texas where she had been found on the streets with her mom and two sisters. She is now about 14 months old. We have two other dogs and, in general, they all get along great, playing and running together. Petunia is quite well trained. She sleeps in a crate at night. She spent a month with a professional trainer and is a pleasure to walk, heeling well and not pulling. She is very affectionate, particularly good at giving hugs. She sometimes thinks she is a lap dog. We have found that having three dogs is a bit too much for us to handle especially since she can be aggressive with our 5 year-old golden retriever who doesn't know how to handle this. She is fine around other people including kids although she tends to jump up which can be a bit much. If you are looking for a loving, energetic doggie, Petunia would be a good choice.
