Story
Texas girl lookin’ to plant some New England roots!!! Arabella is thriving in this crisp cool air — crunching leaves, wagging her whole body and living her best New England life. But she’s missing one thing… her person. This 2-year-old kelpie mix is the kind of girl who walks into a room and turns it into sunshine. She’s been in foster for a few months, learning the ropes with her 5 foster siblings — and she’s aced the whole “good girl” curriculum. She’s watched all her foster brothers and sisters get adopted (she cheered them on!), and now she’s wondering… when is it my turn?! In foster, this smarty-pants has learned: patience = treats walking calmly on leash gets her all the compliments pack life is actually a blastShe’s even taught her little foster brother how to do foster life like a pro. Iconic big sister energy. Arabella (or “Bella” to her friends) is the ultimate adventure buddy AND snuggle partner. Pup cup run? ABSOLUTELY. Big hike? Let’s go. Couch potato Sunday? She’s already under the blanket. She was the best mama to her puppies, and now it’s HER time to be spoiled, adored, and loved to pieces. Cat tested!!! Needs proper intros!  2–3 years old (approx. 45 lbs of happy) Dog-friendly, affectionate & smart Loves her people BIG TIME Former mama, now spayed & living her best life Completed heartworm treatment! Story
Bella 🐾 Meet Bella! 🐾 Bella is a 5–6 month old pup with a heart full of love and a personality that’s equal parts playful and cuddly. 💕 ✨ Fun Facts About Bella: 1. Potty trained — no accidents since day one! 🚽👏 2. The biggest cuddle bug 🛋️ 3. Loves car rides (as long as she can touch you) 🚗❤️ 4. Super playful, floppy, and full of puppy energy 🎾 5. Smart girl who already knows “sit” 🐾 Bella’s favorite things? Sunbathing after potty breaks 🌞, flopping down leash and all, and “talking” at her reflection with the cutest little howl-growl combo. 🐶 She’s had a tough start to life and can be timid with men and kids, but she is never aggressive. She does great hanging out in a bathroom with her bed and toys, but a crate makes her very anxious. She’s working hard on puppy manners like “sit before pets” and “sit before food,” and she takes direction well. Bella is both a couch potato and a playmate — she loves walks, playtime, and then snuggling close. She just wants to be loved, reassured, and never left behind again. 💙 🏡 Ideal Home: Bella would thrive in a home where she can be the center of attention and get plenty of affection, exercise, and continued training. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’ll make you laugh, keep you company, and love you endlessly, Bella is your girl. 🥰 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/forms PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Story
Meet the sweet and sensitive Spot. This girl has had a pretty rough past, but she`s ready to start fresh. Spot came from an unsafe and unsanitary enviornment where she never got to practice being a `real dog.` This means that everything outside of her previous living environment is new(and therefore, frightening) to her. She is looking for a safe place to land where she can slowly come out of her shell at her own pace- without any expectations. She would benefit from a very quiet, predictable environment where no social pressure could be put on her. Here at the shelter, we have found that reuniting red with her best friend, Red, has made an immense difference for her. These two sisters being together has been mutually benefiical, and helps them build confidence! They love to go on walks together and wrestle in the yard. If your home is big enough to help two worried ladies find a safe place to land, these girls would love to stay together. They are able to make more progress moving thorugh the world as a pair!
