Meet Quincy — your future adventure buddy and couch companion all in one.His story began on a lonely rural Texas road, where he was found wandering in bitter winter weather, starved to a mere shadow of the magnificent dog he is today. Yet even in those heartbreaking conditions, his spirit never dimmed. He remained sociable, hopeful, and happy — a true testament to his resilient and loving nature.Quincy may be a little shy when meeting new people, but give him a little patience and he warms up quickly into a sweet, loyal guy. He’s easygoing and happy doing just about anything as long as he’s with his people — whether that’s hitting the trails for a hike or relaxing on the couch for a quiet night in. He loves a good walk but after that he'll require a nap! He has just the right amount of energy, not too much but not too little. Once Quincy forms a bond, he becomes deeply devoted but can become protective of his person which resulted in an incident that got him returned. Because of this, he would do best in an adult-only home with no kids where he can feel secure and understood as well as keep up with training. The good news? Quincy gets along great with both cats and other dogs, making him a wonderful fit for a calm, pet-friendly household.Quincy is housetrained and crate trained. He prefers to not be crated but goes in without a fight and settles right in.
