Story
Heather is just under two years old. She was rescued in Louisiana and treated for heart worms. She is negative and healthy, great with dogs, plays in play group. She lived in the director's house and is house trained. She will wait at the door. She's very calm and chill. We're guessing on her breeds. She's a really nice dog who has been in rescue for awhile due to no fault of her own. She does zoomies outside in the yard and then is calm inside. She stays off the furniture. She is not destructive. She likes belly rubs but is not real needy. She's just a happy girl. Please apply at https://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp, and we will get right back to you.

Story
Bella 🐾 Meet Bella! 🐾 Bella is a 5–6 month old pup with a heart full of love and a personality that’s equal parts playful and cuddly. 💕 ✨ Fun Facts About Bella: 1. Potty trained — no accidents since day one! 🚽👏 2. The biggest cuddle bug 🛋️ 3. Loves car rides (as long as she can touch you) 🚗❤️ 4. Super playful, floppy, and full of puppy energy 🎾 5. Smart girl who already knows “sit” 🐾 Bella’s favorite things? Sunbathing after potty breaks 🌞, flopping down leash and all, and “talking” at her reflection with the cutest little howl-growl combo. 🐶 She’s had a tough start to life and can be timid with men and kids, but she is never aggressive. She does great hanging out in a bathroom with her bed and toys, but a crate makes her very anxious. She’s working hard on puppy manners like “sit before pets” and “sit before food,” and she takes direction well. Bella is both a couch potato and a playmate — she loves walks, playtime, and then snuggling close. She just wants to be loved, reassured, and never left behind again. 💙 🏡 Ideal Home: Bella would thrive in a home where she can be the center of attention and get plenty of affection, exercise, and continued training. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’ll make you laugh, keep you company, and love you endlessly, Bella is your girl. 🥰 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/forms PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Meet Hazel 💕 Hazel is the total package—sweet as can be, affectionate, and ready to be your loyal sidekick. With her warm amber eyes and soft chocolate coat, she’ll steal your heart in seconds… and then happily curl up in your lap to keep it. This cuddle queen loves being close to her people. Whether it’s movie night on the couch or a quiet morning with coffee, Hazel is happiest when she’s snuggled up beside you. She also enjoys getting out for walks and does wonderfully exploring the neighborhood with her foster sister. She’d likely thrive in a home with another friendly dog to show her the ropes—or be perfectly content soaking up all the attention as your one and only. The best part? Hazel is already crate trained and house trained, so she’s ready to settle into her forever home with ease. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion who will adore you endlessly and happily join you for both adventures and downtime, Hazel is your girl. 🐾💕 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/forms PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Story
Meet Quincy — your future adventure buddy and couch companion all in one.His story began on a lonely rural Texas road, where he was found wandering in bitter winter weather, starved to a mere shadow of the magnificent dog he is today. Yet even in those heartbreaking conditions, his spirit never dimmed. He remained sociable, hopeful, and happy — a true testament to his resilient and loving nature.Quincy may be a little shy when meeting new people, but give him a little patience and he warms up quickly into a sweet, loyal guy. He’s easygoing and happy doing just about anything as long as he’s with his people — whether that’s hitting the trails for a hike or relaxing on the couch for a quiet night in.Once Quincy forms a bond, he becomes deeply devoted but can become protective of his person which resulted in an incident that got him returned. Because of this, he would do best in an adult-only home with no kids where he can feel secure and understood as well as keep up with training. The good news? Quincy gets along great with both cats and other dogs, making him a wonderful fit for a calm, pet-friendly household. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend with a gentle heart, Quincy might just be your perfect match.Name: QuincyBreed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler/Australian Kelpie  (DNA testing has not been done and therefore no guarantees are made with regard to dog’s breed mix)Sex: MaleAge: 3 years  (estimated)Weight: 61Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: NoGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: YesAdoption Fee: $550.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)                       $100-150 additional mandatory quarantine fee for Massachusetts residents.Location of dog currently:   New EnlgandIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: YesGood with cats: YesGood with kids: Yes, dog savvy childrenCrate trained: YesHouse Trained: Mostly Cindy is a sweet, gentle girl who loves life at her own pace and will warm her way right into your heart. She is a medium energy gal who loves zooming around the backyard with her foster siblings and carrying a small stuffy around in her mouth. She would thrive in a calm, quiet home that will give her the time and space to get comfortable on her own terms. After a little decompression time, Cindy had no issues with any of the resident dogs in her foster home and would do well with a canine sibling. She has shown zero interest in the cats and would do just fine with a feline sibling. She has been great with kids but does best with dog-savvy kids who understand that she needs a calm, gentle approach to feel at ease.Cindy is a smart girl with a sweet soul who is learning to build confidence every day. She is fully crate trained and does great overnight and throughout the day. She is mostly house trained and does best when taken outside immediately after leaving her kennel, and will continue to improve with a consistent routine. Cindy is working on her leash skills and is still building confidence with a leash on. This sweet girl has so much love to give. Could Cindy be the perfect fit for your home? Please Note: All dogs are posted on our website until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. Story
Coda is a beautiful, intelligent Blue Heeler with a lot of love to give, but she needs the right environment to truly thrive. She would do best in a home without other animals or children, as she values her personal space and can become overwhelmed in busy or unpredictable settings.Coda is very well trained and thrives with structure. She is fully house, leash, and crate-trained. She sleeps comfortably in her crate at night and when left home alone.Making the decision to rehome Coda has been incredibly difficult. I am currently five months pregnant, and I worry about her being around a young child who may not understand boundaries or personal space. My priority is finding her a safe, calm, and loving home where she can continue to grow and feel secure.Once Coda warms up, she is a love bug and incredibly loyal. She needs someone who will be patient with her. Due to her prior abuse, I was told it would be best to put her down rather than place in a shelter. Please help us find her a home

Story
Koda is a rescue Blue Heeler who is incredibly smart, loyal, and affectionate once she builds trust. She comes from an abusive background, so she can be fearful of new people and needs time and patience to feel safe. If approached too quickly, she may snap out of fear, though incidents have only caused minor skin breaks. Koda does best when people respect her space and allow her to initiate contact. She must be the only pet in an adult-only home. She can tolerate visitors as long as they follow her boundaries. She is fully house trained, crate trained, leash trained, and follows commands well. She is very treat-motivated and thrives with structure. As a high-energy breed, she needs regular exercise like walks and fetch.Rehoming her is a very difficult decision due to a baby on the way. She deserves a calm, patient home where she can feel safe and loved. Once she trusts you, she is incredibly sweet, playful, and deeply devoted.
