Story
Say hello to Toby (born January 2015) an Australian Kelpie x Belgian Shepherd mix, who is looking for his FURever home! This shy guy is a complete ladies' man and does better around women more so than men. Toby requires a slow introduction to new people as he gets very shy. He would shine brightest in a home where he can be the center of attention so no kids or other pets, please. Once Toby gets to know you he is the biggest cuddler there is and just wants to love on his human. So ladies' who is ready for their night in shining fur? Appy to adopt Toby today! The suggested adoption donation for Toby is $265. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization which means that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2021 alone, we were able to provide animal Healthcare costing over $306,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Adoptions for Toby are limited to the area within 50 miles of Omaha so that he can continue to take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainer. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page.   ##1489993##

Story
I got Milo when he was a puppy. His favorite game is fetch and he could play for hours. He loves hikes, camping, swimming, investigating new things. He taught himself how to play fetch by watching another dog do it. He is very intelligent and needs a lot of enrichment. I’ve had a lot happen in my personal life these past few years and have admitted to myself that I don’t have the time or resources to care for him in the way he needs. I work full time and am hardly home. He needs a home with a yard. He hasn’t been around other dogs since he was a year old and barks at other dogs when we pass on our walks. He would do best as the only dog unless you got a puppy after him. We've been working on his dog reactivity and it has gotten slightly better. He is a quick learner and Im positive he could be the perfect dog in little to no time. He’s tiny for your average heeler. Hes okay with cats as long as they are raised aside him. He is goofy and never seizes to make me laugh.

Story
Millie is about 6 years old, she is Australian Shepard/Border Collie Mix. Very sweet dog, friendly, likes people but is weary of strangers and will bark at them initially which makes her a good watchdog. She has never bitten anyone. Great with cats, we have a cat that she plays with. She will sometimes be weary of other dogs and will bark at them. She is very loyal to her owner, at least she is with us - we have had her since she was a puppy.

Story
Meet Rico, he is 8 years old and 35lbs.   His owner has cancer and can longer care for him so he is looking for a new place to love him through the next chapter of his life.  Rico is a handsome Aussie/Terrier mix of sorts! If he was a food order he would be ordered as one medium floof nugget, with a side of smiles- tail waggin sized, with all the dippin sauces of happiness. This guy has grins that just won‘t quit, loves him some car rides, enjoys being bribed with treats for tricks, isn’t much of a kisser, and relishes all the attention he deserves to receive.  Rico loves kids and loves to play tug with them or another dog.   Rico is easy to love, gets along great with dogs and and kids. He walks good on leash and is housebroken and crate trained. He is a true gentleman and is ready for that special person(s) to give him his well-deserved furever home. He is waiting to meet you! Neutered, heartworm tested, recent dental, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for adoption!  He is hit and miss with cats so a calm cat that does not do much he would have less of an issue with.  An active cat that will hiss and get in his business is not a match.  To help pay for vet bills and care (transportation, food, toys, etc..) a $100 donation is requested at the time of adoption. All of our adoptions are contingent upon an approved application, home visit, reference check, obedience training agreement, and signing of adoption contract. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption. Our dogs are companion animals that live indoors as part of your family. Please do not apply if your plan is to have them as outside dogs, garage dogs, porch dogs or outside kennel dogs.  We do not ship dogs.   All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We are not a shelter with hours. A visit can be arranged after an adoption questionnaire has been filled out and sent in. Please try to email first. We are all volunteers that work so we can not easily take or make phone calls.January 12, 2026, 2:48 pm
