Story
Meet Tairn! This little boy is so much fun!! He’s 7 months old and weighs 35 pounds. A Kelpie mix, maybe with some Husky. He’s looking for an active family that will help him achieve his bucket list that is full of adventures. He was slotted to be a service dog but sadly his owner is too advanced in her illness to carry on the dream, so we took him in for her. He's smart and eager to have a job. He loves everyone and every dog he's met. He has lived with a cat too and did great. He loves kids but is still a mouthy pup working on his manners, so maybe 7 and older would be ideal for now. He would not thrive in a couch potato type house. A fenced yard is a must. He's 95% housebroken now and gladly goes into his crate. He’s great in the car and on a leash. If you're adventurous and looking for a loyal sidekick, Tarin is your dream come true!  He’s fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, and ready for his happy ever after. His adoption donation is $415. Please apply directly in the dropdown menu on our website at https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org/adoption-application We do not have a facility. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals. We are a state licensed, 501c3 nonprofit rescue and the adoption donation may be tax deductible for you.  Thank you for choosing adoption!! December 5, 2025, 12:55 pm

Story
If you're looking to adopt a sensational senior, Lucy is your girl.  She is an Australian Cattle Dog mix, born Dec 2015.  She is a little timid at first, but will be your best pal once she get to know you.  She is seriously the ideal dog!   She needs a home with a fenced yard and she is usually good with other dogs (we would do a dog intro to make sure she got along with any in your house).  She might prefer to be the only dog in the house, it really depends on the dogs.  She does fine with dogs that don't get in her face.  She gets a little nervous and when they get right in her face.  She's met lots of other dogs she's been fine with.  Here are a few more fun facts: *Good with kids         *House trained *Low energy              *Quiet/doesn't bark much (inside or outside)              *Walks well on a leash *Curious about cats and gets along with them  *Trained to stay off furniture      *No counter surfing for food      *Leaves the trash alone and doesn't chew on anything that is out around the house *She is not kenneled during the day because she's very well behaved, but she is also fine in a kennel. *She only barks if someone rings the doorbell, knocks, or if a visitor leaves. If someone just walks in the house, she doesn't bark. She doesn't even bark at the neighbors or their dogs when she's outside.  *She has 2 medications she takes in the evening for incontinence.  As long as she has them, she doesn't have accidents. She's very good at letting her foster mom know when she needs to go outside.  The medication isn't too expensive.  *She needs to be on Purina ProPlan urinary food. She goes through about a bag and a half during a month.  This food helps reduce the chance of stones forming in her bladder/kidney. *Lucy likes to follow her foster mom around the house to see what she's doing, but if it's not exciting to her, she will go back to her bed and lay down.   If you're looking for a well-behaved senior girl that you don't have to train, Lucy might just be for you. The suggested adoption donation for Lucy is $275. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Story
This is Winstorn, an Australian Cattle dog, born Oct 2020.  Winston would love to be on a farm or acreage where he has room to run, play and explore.  Bonus points if you have a job for him as his breed really needs to have something to do.  He has spent time with friends on a large property and their 3 dogs.  He is a little anxious sometimes, but eager to please.  This likely comes from his excess energy and just needing something to do.  Winston is startled by kids screaming and small dogs barking.  He will benefit from some leash training because he is reactive to other dogs when on a leash. Winston is very attentive and affectionate with his people.  He is anxious to find a family that will give him all the attention, snuggles and love he deserves! The suggested adoption donation for Winston is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Story
Fostered in Sioux City.   Name- my foster Mom is calling me Lucy and I seem to like it! Age- 3ish Breed- mini Aussie What was your life like before NDCB/Where did you come from? A breeding facility Who is your main caretaker/favorite person now? I love all the people I've met so far! My foster mom is my fave so far. Are you good with kids? Not kids tested yet, but I would probably overwhelm a little one. Bigger would be better. What age ranges? 10+ Are you good with other dogs? I have a much older foster sister, so she doesn't want to play with me. I think I'd love another dog to match my energy! Are you good with cats? I bark at the cat, but we haven't met face to face yet. Are you housebroken? Working hard on it! I'm smart so it shouldn't take long What is your current potty routine? Lots of potty breaks when FM is home. I haven't had any accidents in my kennel. Do you like car rides? I did fine in the car, but she wouldn't let me sit on her lap, what's that all about? Do you like walks? When it warms up a little we will see. I think as long as my person is with me I'll be happy! I have a lot of energy to burn off, so I bet I will love them! How are you on a leash? I did fine getting to and from the car! Do you like toys? What's that? Lol just pet me already! What is your favorite toy? Do you know any commands/tricks? I sit on command and am learning not to jump How are your house manners? I get so excited with people I jump on them, we are working on it! Describe your personality- I am super sweet and affectionate and will be your shadow if you'll have me! ♥️ I'm either going 90 mph or dozing on the couch. Describe your perfect home- I LOVE attention from people, so the more to give me pets, the better!
