Story
Meet French Fry! Gender: Male Age: 3-4 years Current Weight: 40 lbs Breed: Kelpie/lab Energy Level: Medium-High Dog Friendly: Yes, and can have other dogs in the home or can be an only dog Cat Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Yes, any age Apartment Friendly: No Physical Fence Requirement: Physical fence preferred but not required with regular walks/exercise Crate Trained: Yes Potty Trained: Yes Ideal Home/Adopter: French Fry (Fry guy)'s perfect place would be somewhere that has a long wrestle match full of bunny pounces and some face nibbles, chase & run with a bestie. Then curl up on the couch for a good hard snuggle sesh. Fry is looking for a family that's equal parts activity and equal parts chill. He's basically a recently graduated college bro who is the life of the party and always up for a good time. But he's ready to commit, settle down & let the next best days of his life start! Dogs, kids, cats? He likes 'em all! He is very trainable and smart, but he doesn't learn for just any treats...no basic milk bones, please, this guy has *sophisticated* taste. Likes: Rowdy play with dogs, cuddling on the couch, cleaning up while you cook, LOVES the snow! Dislikes: He doesnt love when people grab his scruff (the area of the neck where the collar is), even if its just for a hug or similar movement. He is never mean about it, just gets a little squirrely. Also doesn't love the vet. What makes this dog special: Fry is the total life of the party and sometimes you watch him & just wish you had that type of energy and motivation for life! He thoroughly enjoys friends and activity, but has no problem turning it "off" and settling in afterwards. Fry is crate trained, housebroken, and is currently in a foster home with toddlers, cats, and dogs without issues! French Fry's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. ##2647716##

I’m Mercedes, a sweet and sassy Lovebug! I’m a 2-3 year old female Mixed breed. I weigh 36 pounds and am the perfect size. I am potty trained, crate trained and good with other animals. It may take me a while to warm up to you but once I do, we can be best friends! I like to follow around my foster mom and sit right next to her, as close as I possibly can and I’m also easily redirected to my bed when she needs some space. I bark at the people and dogs walking by the house but I am very friendly when I meet them on walks and at the dog park. I like playing with all kinds of toys and bones, eating yummy snacks, going for walks and taking a nap. I also love a good game of fetch including bringing the ball right back to you and dropping it at your feet. Before coming to SPEAK I was a stray and needed surgery on my hip after being hit by a car. I am much happier now that I have healed can run around. I will need some hikes and runs at the park to continue to progress and build muscle in my back leg and some patience to work on my confidence. I promise it will be worth it! Are you waiting to fall in love? I’m spayed, microchipped and up to date on my vaccinations and prevention. What are you waiting for? Fill out an application so we can meet. I’ll be waiting for you! ##1982031##

A year ago I was found in a box with no mom in sight and sent to a Texas shelter. Speak for the Unspoken broke me out of doggy jail and brought me to Ohio. My short young life had been extremely hard so when I arrived at my foster home I was terrified of everything and almost completely shut down. Over time and with lots of patience my foster family gained my trust and showed me that life isn’t so scary. My furry foster siblings also gave me confidence to be brave and explore. My foster Mom is extremely proud of all the progress I’ve made over the last year. She says I’m ready to find my forever family to keep building the confidence and trust I need to fulfill my full potential. So let me tell you all about me! Today I am a happy bouncy dog that LOVES to play. Toys are the best. I enjoy tugging on a rope, chasing balls, destroying any stuffy in site, oh…..and my new favorite trying to catch a frisbee. Being chased by my foster siblings with a toy in my mouth is always a bonus. Playing “keep away” is fun. After playing I enjoy curling up on a soft pillow or couch to rest. I also love sleeping next to someone in bed at night. That way I know I’m not alone. If you need an assistant in the kitchen I’m here to help. Picking up dropped food is my specialty . I especially like carrots and cheese. It’s a good way to build my trust. My forever family will need to have patience and an understanding that it will take time for me to trust. Another dog with my energy level in the home is best to help me navigate my new situation. Plus, I really don’t care for cats and am very focused on catching small animals. So a dog only home is required. New situations are still scary for me. So a fence is a must, to keep me safe.I promise if you have the time and patience I will show you the bouncy, happy, silly and loyal boy that I truly am. I am neutered and up to date on all my vaccinations.
