Story
We really outdid ourselves with originality in naming Cattle Dog, or “Cattle D” for not much shorter. Cattle Dog has all the energy and big personality you would expect from a Cattle Dog—he will patrol your yard to protect it from both squirrels and ghosts, but when not under attack from these nefarious villains, he loves to play with his friends and loves giving kisses and hugs and getting attention from his people. He’s a fantastic dog and just the best boy. A physically fenced yard is required. Cattle Dog is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Sweet Luna came to our rescue with puppies. She was an incredible momma. All of her pups have since been adopted but she is still patiently waiting on someone to call her their girl.  She loves walks and just discovered how much she loves the sand volleyball court!  This sweet girl came to DASH fearful and shy with little confidence.  She has made great strides in the DASH Prison Training Program. Her handler says " Luna is better than a good pet, she's a good friend and a great roommate".  She will do best with a family who responds in a calm, relaxed approach with a confident pack leader. She is highly intelligent, and for the most part not too energetic, but an active family is best for this girl.  She is affectionate, loving & loyal. Her foster said she is the biggest snuggle bug & loves to be right next to her people although she is selective!! Luna is the perfect girl when given the time to settle in!! She's a great dog who just needs a chance with a family that has time for her. She will need time to decompress, with love & patience to show her she is safe & part of the family. Luna is not cat-friendly but is sociable with other dogs, however, she does not tolerate puppies. She has not been "kid tested" so proper meet & greets are always in order. We are excited and anticipate Luna finding her perfect home. Rescue Luna and she'll rescue you. Apply today!   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 7, 2024, 11:35 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Meet Fancy! Oh my goodness, look at this pretty girl with her salt & pepper looks and those accessorizing black ears! She is just a little beauty and is looking to waltz her fancy-pants self into your home and fill it with joy. She is currently in the DASH Prison Training Program where she is learning puppy manners and basic commands. She seems to be very intelligent and is learning fast but of course she will need to continue her training in her new home environment to fully develop. Her trainer says she is very affectionate and relaxed, also smart and sociable. Fancy likes to play with her toys and the other dogs, is housebroken, walks on a leash, doesn't complain in her crate but would much rather be snuggling with you! She has not been cat or kid tested so proper introductions are a must, especially with the littles given her puppy energy level. She would love to meet you and see if you're her forever family. Apply to meet her today! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 7, 2024, 11:35 am

Story
Silky soft, snuggly, and eager to please all the people he meets. Oakley is willing to trust new people, show his belly, give kisses. Knows 'sit,' 'lie down,' and getting acquainted with 'stay,' 'leave it,' and 'get down. Very interested in other dogs, but willing to be instructed to 'leave it' and carry on walking when we passed yards or houses with barking dogs. Fairly good on a leash. Very energetic, will be a good companion for someone athletic. But also Willing to hang out quietly while I you work on the computer or watched TV; even willing to ignore the nearby cats most of time. Curious about them but not wanting to interact with them. Before considering him as a pet do research on the breed. He is a herding dog and will try to steer you where he thinks you need to go. This will include nipping at your heels and hands if they are by your side. He will be good with older kids that understand his behavior. He is in a foster home so if you are interested in adoptiong me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process.  Due to the large number of inquiries we receive, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.    October 5, 2024, 6:42 am

Story
Lola is a 3 year-old cattle dog mix who weighs 57 lbs. She arrived at CHA from our shelter partner, ASPCA. Lola is a sweet, social girl who loves to meet new people and other dogs. She has been in numerous playgroups and is very versatile, adjusting her playstyle based on her playmates. While she enjoys playing with other dogs in the yard, her favorite thing to do is run and chase the hose water. She LOVES water, and can often be found lounging in the kiddie pool. She is also highly motivated by treats and loves to learn. She already knows sit and lay on command. This super smart girl also walks very well on leash and is always responsive to her handlers. If you're looking for an active, affectionate companion, Lola could be the dog for you!
