We really outdid ourselves with originality in naming Cattle Dog, or “Cattle D” for not much shorter. Cattle Dog has all the energy and big personality you would expect from a Cattle Dog—he will patrol your yard to protect it from both squirrels and ghosts, but when not under attack from these nefarious villains, he loves to play with his friends and loves giving kisses and hugs and getting attention from his people. He’s a fantastic dog and just the best boy. A physically fenced yard is required. Cattle Dog is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio. Online Adoption Application › Abner loves everyone!  He  is currently in the DASH prison training program and is doing very well. His handler said he is so sweet, loving and gentle. He loves to play fetch with his person or with the other dogs. He says he is active but not hyper. He is also just as happy to cuddle next to his person. He is housebroken, leash and crate trained. He is still a puppy, so his new family will need to continue to work with him to reinforce all the commands he is learning.  He has not been introduced to children or cats so a proper introduction is in order. Online Adoption Application › Sweet Luna came to our rescue with puppies. She was an incredible momma. All of her pups have since been adopted but she is still patiently waiting on someone to call her their girl. She loves walks and just discovered how much she loves the sand volleyball court! This sweet girl came to DASH fearful and shy with little confidence. She has made great strides in the DASH Prison Training Program. Her handler says " Luna is better than a good pet, she's a good friend and a great roommate". When you wake up, she's looking at you like "What are we going to do today?", but she is not afraid to be alone either. She will do best with a person who responds in a calm, relaxed approach. She is highly intelligent, affectionate and loyal and attaches quickly to one person. She loves everyone though. She's a great dog who just needs a chance with a family that has time for her. She will need time to decompress, with love and patience to show her she is safe and part of the family. Luna is not cat-friendly but is sociable with other dogs, just not puppies.She has not been "kid tested" so proper meet & greets are always in order. We are excited and anticipate Luna finding her perfect home. Rescue Luna and she'll rescue you. Online Adoption Application › Welcome Moo Moo!  This young girl is housebroken, loves to cuddle and is very friendly!  She loves collectable toys and you will find her working very hard to get them all in one spot.  You will find her playing alone with her toys but prefers to play with other dogs too.  She  gets along with everyone she meets but is really drawn to women. She is crate trained and learning not to pull on the leash. Her trainer is working on roll over, fetch and off.  She is doing well with the commands of sit, stay, down and free. She only gets on the furniture when she is invited.  She is a quick learner and eager to please.  Her handler says she is very well mannered.  If you have a comfy, soft couch or bed, she is your girl!  She will give you hours of endless cuddles. Needs fenced yard: preferred but not necessary. Needs other dogs: she could be an only dog or enjoy a fur sibling Location: Columbus, Ohio Energy level: medium Woof!! I’m Mercedes, a sweet and sassy Lovebug! I’m a 2-3 year old female Mixed breed. I weigh 36 pounds and am the perfect size. I am potty trained, crate trained and good with other animals. It may take me a while to warm up to you but once I do, we can be best friends! I like to follow around my foster mom and sit right next to her, as close as I possibly can and I’m also easily redirected to my bed when she needs some space. I bark at the people and dogs walking by the house but I am very friendly when I meet them on walks and at the dog park. I like playing with all kinds of toys and bones, eating yummy snacks, going for walks and taking a nap. I also love a good game of fetch including bringing the ball right back to you and dropping it at your feet. Before coming to SPEAK I was a stray and needed surgery on my hip after being hit by a car. I am much happier now that I have healed can run around. I will need some hikes and runs at the park to continue to progress and build muscle in my back leg and some patience to work on my confidence. I promise it will be worth it!
