Story
Introducing Thelma 🩵 Thelma and her sister Louise came to us as strays who were left unclaimed. She’s estimated as a 1 year old fully grown Australian Kelpie mix. Thelma is more reserved and anxious than her sister. Thelma appears to be suffering from littermate syndrome. She pants nervously, is vocal, paces back and forth in her kennel when she can’t see her sister or us. Typically puppies who are raised together (either littermates or similar ages) start to bond w each other too much, making it close to impossible to bond w other animals or humans. Thelma is set to be vetted tomorrow 4/16 at Skiatook Paws & Claws Animal Rescue. She’ll be spayed, vaccinated, chipped, heartworm tested, and given preventatives (if heartworm negative). Thelma would greatly benefit from having a foster home so she can learn that it’s alright to not be so dependent on her sister. She’s definitely a follower, not an in charge alpha female. Want to meet your new best friend? Stop by during our business hours or reach out to set up an appointment! Animals on stray hold are not available to be seen by the public, until their hold is up. Story
Introducing Louise 💜 Louise and her sister Thelma came to us as strays who were left unclaimed. Louise is estimated as a 1 year old fully grown Australian Kelpie. She’s a very smart girl who picks up on things and routines quick. She knows sit, walks well on leash, fetches, smiles sometimes for pics, and is very food/treat motivated (for training purposes). She is more outgoing/social than her sister and seems to be the one in charge of the two. We’re not sure how she is w other dogs, cats, or kids at the moment but will be testing her very soon. Set to be spayed, chipped, vaccinated, heartworm tested, and given preventions (as long as she’s negative for hesrtworms) tomorrow 4/16 at Skiatook Paws & Claws Animal Rescue. Want to meet your new best friend? Stop by during our business hours or reach out to set up an appointment! Animals on stray hold are not available to be seen by the public, until their hold is up. Story
This on-point pupper is Taz who recently completed our STAR Inmate Training Program where he learned basic obedience commands! He is approximately 2 years old and weighs 46 lbs. We think he is an Australian Kelpie/maybe some Chow mix, and was living on a chain because he was a danger to the neighborhood cats. So, no cats or small critters around this boy!  Other than that, Taz is fantastic! He’s dog friendly, loves everyone he meets, and is so happy to be off of that chain and living life as a real dog should! He loves to please and really bonds with his person. Taz is so ready for his forever family! If you think your family might be the one, please visit Father our website at carerescueok.org for our application!   ##2098808##

Story
Bentley is a four year old Australian Shepherd. He loves to play fetch and go on walks, but he also adores cuddling on the couch. He's an excellent playmate for little ones, and is incredibly patient with kids and other animals. Bentley has spent his whole life with us since he was 5 months old. Hes a wonderful dog and we have loved being his family. But our family has to move to a safer place, and financial constraints mean we cannot afford a place that will allow Bentley, much less give him the space he needs. We hope to connect with a new family for him, so we know hes happy. Please help us secure not only Bentleys happy future, but our family's safety.
