Story
Banner is a sweet, goofy dog with lots of energy. Does well around other dogs but is shy at first. He loves to play outside, hike, swim, or play ball. He is a big cuddler. He doesn’t like fireworks. Banner is housebroken, knows general commands and will occasionally high five and play dead. He needs a home where he will have room to run and play freely. We have a new baby and haven’t been able to give him the attention he deserves!

Story
Meet Sozu — a 52-pound, 14-month-old Australian Shepherd mix who’s basically the dog version of your favorite comfort dessert. Think warm cinnamon roll with a heart of marshmallow fluff — sweet, soft, and guaranteed to make you smile. Somehow, this lovable goofball found himself on the urgent list at the shelter (which feels a bit like putting a box of cupcakes in the “trash” pile — clearly a mistake). Thankfully, fate had other plans, and now he’s ready to turn your home into his happily ever after. Sozu showed up at his foster home like a polite exchange student trying to figure out the local customs — friendly, curious, and maybe just a little unsure about the language of “dog.” Now he’s a full-fledged member of the fun committee, wrestling, zooming, and occasionally instigating his own rowdy play sessions. If you’ve got a playful dog at home, Sozu’s absolutely down to tag in as their new sparring (and snuggling) partner as long as you give him time to decompress and realize that they are not going to hurt him. Cats? None on the guest list yet, but given his personality, he’d probably treat one like an oddly shaped dog until proven otherwise. Kids? No firsthand experience yet, but he’s got a soft heart and would likely do fine with older, respectful ones who understand that he’s more about hugs than headlocks. When it comes to humans, Sozu’s got the same sweet approach. He greets new people like he’s testing out a new dessert — gentle curiosity first, then full-blown adoration. Men can take him a little longer to warm up to, but once he decides you’re cool, he’s all in — the kind of loyalty that has him glued to your side like a fuzzy Velcro shadow. Sozu is the definition of a happy-go-lucky goofball who thinks life is one big game of fetch… only he’s not entirely sure who’s supposed to be fetching who. At home, Sozu’s a total softie. He’s got the enthusiasm of a baby goat doing popcorn jumps but the soul of a teddy bear. He loves toys, wrestling, chewing, and snuggles — preferably all in the same afternoon. And yes, he chases flies like it’s a full-time job. Watching him leap and snap at them is like witnessing a very determined (and slightly uncoordinated) ninja in action. He’s also a world-class hugger, standing up on his hind legs to wrap his paws around you like he’s afraid you’ll evaporate if he lets go. If you sit down, consider yourself claimed — Sozu has declared you a cuddle object. He’s got that classic goofball charm — sweet, affectionate, and occasionally unaware of his own size. With his curious face and big brown eyes, he could melt butter (or your resolve) in seconds. He’s the type of dog who doesn’t just want to be near his person — he wants to be his person. Whether it’s lounging at home, tagging along to the office, or hopping in the car for another adventure, Sozu is happiest when he’s right by your side. He’s sweet, affectionate, and happiest when he’s right next to his person. He doesn’t care if you live in an apartment or a house with a fenced yard — as long as he gets to be with his human, he’s good. He’s not picky about real estate; he’s picky about love. Sozu’s got his life mostly together — at least more than most of us on a Monday. He’s potty trained. He doesn’t bark much, which is surprising given his Aussie DNA. He saves his voice for special occasions — like when he’s playing, someone’s at the door, or when he needs to remind you that he’s absolutely starving again. Otherwise, he’s a quiet observer, keeping his commentary to himself. Sozu’s a sweet, goofy, lovable dork who just needs a little time to figure out his surroundings — and who he can trust. He came to us a little wary, especially around new dogs and men, and needed a week to realize they were not plotting anything sinister. Now? He’s best friends with everyone, wrestling, cuddling, and soaking up affection like it’s his job. Give him a bit of patience and some understanding, and he’ll reward you with full-body hugs, endless devotion, and a love so loyal it’ll make your friends wish they had a bond like you and Sozu do. If you’re looking for a best friend who greets every day like it’s the best one ever, who will be your copilot in life, and who’s guaranteed to make your home a little fluffier but a lot happier — Sozu’s your guy. So here’s your mission: fill out an adoption application at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app so we can send it over to his foster family. Then, get yourself to Norman, OK, where your new best friend is patiently (and not-so-patiently) waiting to smother you with love, loyalty, and maybe a little fur. Trust us — your heart will never be the same again.

Story
Very sweet border collie, but very shy.  She needs a quiet family with a lot of time and patience to work with her.  She walks fantastic on a leash and loves going on walks.  Still a puppy with high energy.  She is great with other dogs and kids.  We highly recommend that there is at least one other dog in the family that is not dominate.  She is very submissive and a dominate dog would likely pick on her.  She gets along find with small dogs.  She loves to go to our dog park and play with other dogs.  She is going to need some patience and time to get use to new people and new places.  Not good with chickens, cats, or other small animals.  Has a high prey drive. Some of our dogs are adopted very quickly.  If you are truly interested in a dog fill out an application ASAP.  If you take the time to email a question someone will already be ahead of you with a completed application.  You can find all the information we have about a particular cat/dog at the link below as well.  Then click the adopt button to fill out an application. Fill out an application at the link below.  Find the dog/cat you are interested in and click the adopt button.  That will take you to an application.  Once approved you will be called for an appointment to meet your possible new family member, or at that time you can meet the other animals as well.  You must include 3 references with phone numbers for you application to be processed.  https://petstablished.com/public/search/shelter/301551 Adoption fee is $150 for all dogs over 6 months old, $200 for large breed puppies under 6 months, $250 for small breed puppies.  All adoptions include, spay/neuter, vaccines, a heartworm test, and a free 1 year membership to our 5 acre ARF Park.  For other dog questions please email ARFdogs74006@gmail.com We do adopt out of state, but the adopter must travel to ARF to meet the dog they are looking to adopt.  They must have an approved application before traveling to meet the dog.  We do allow small dogs that are eligible to fly in the cabin of a plane.  We DO NOT allow dogs to travel in the cargo area of the plane under any circumstances.  Any dog that is adopted can of course go by personal vehicle.  We do not allow dogs to be transported "pony express style" where they are passed from driver to driver.   ##2232559##
