He is a friendly dog that loves to run. He has been neutered, vaccinated, heart worm negative and given monthly preventative. He does great on a leash but is a little scared riding in a vehicle. Spud is pretty laid back, following me everywhere when he is in the dog yard. Spud has been at the shelter since January 2023.

Story
We heard someone say this about Rickey recently, and it just broke our hearts: "He's just kind of plain. Another big brown male dog. Nothing too special about him." But when we look into his eyes, we see something different. We see a weary traveler, a dog who's lived in filth and never had a clean home to relax in. A wounded warrior, who has scrounged for food and fought to stay alive when no one was taking care of him. A voiceless soul, who couldn't ask for help when his owner went into hospice. He and his doggy siblings were left to fend for themselves. Rickey may not be a coonhound or basset but he is absolutely the definition of a Helpless Hound. He been through so much in his 4 years, and has never known what it's like just be a dog. UNTIL NOW. Here's to you Rickey, and your new life. We are here to make sure you get to live every day to the fullest. We will make sure you know that you will be clean, fed, and have a warm home to rest your head in. We will take care of you everyday until your new family comes along. And we promise to remind you, every single day, just how special you are. This animal has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Now, he is prepared for his forever home!

Story
Allow us to introduce Jed, the gentlest and most endearing Beagle mix you'll ever meet. His journey began when he was discovered as a stray, all alone on the streets with nowhere to go. Luckily someone picked him up, and he found his way into our care. Jed is a sweet soul who LOVES people and other animals. He will go right up to a stranger and wrap his arms around their neck in a warm embrace. This lovely gentleman is incredibly undemanding, needing only a quick trip outside for potty breaks before happily returning indoors. Neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations, Jed is ready to embark on his next chapter with a family who will cherish his gentle spirit. Could your home be the one he's been waiting for? He is patiently awaiting the chance to bring his quiet love and easy companionship into a forever home.
