Story
Rochester (aka Chester) is a sweetheart of a dog that just loves people. He wants nothing more than to be your constant companion and give you all the attention in the world. Chester is extremely submissive with other dogs to the point of probably needing to be an only dog, but he promises he has all the 4-legged affection you could ever need.  He is picky about his dog friends, but he has been in our cat room and fell asleep with one of the cats curled up next to him. He is housebroken, good with cats,  and good with kids. Some of our dogs are adopted very quickly.  If you are truly interested in a dog fill out an application ASAP.  If you take the time to email a question someone will already be ahead of you with a completed application.  You can find all the information we have about a particular cat/dog at the link below as well.  Then click the adopt button to fill out an application. Story
Apollo is a very sweet blue heeler that looks to be full blood, but may be mixed.  His owner passed away so he's feeling a bit lost.  His best friend Lucy the chihuahua is here too.  We believe he is housebroken, but do not know that for sure.  He is sweet and gentle and ready for a new home. Story
He is a friendly dog that loves to run. He has been neutered, vaccinated, heart worm negative and given monthly preventative. He does great on a leash but is a little scared riding in a vehicle. Spud is pretty laid back, following me everywhere when he is in the dog yard. Spud has been at the shelter since January 2023.

Story
We heard someone say this about Rickey recently, and it just broke our hearts: "He's just kind of plain. Another big brown male dog. Nothing too special about him." But when we look into his eyes, we see something different. We see a weary traveler, a dog who's lived in filth and never had a clean home to relax in. A wounded warrior, who has scrounged for food and fought to stay alive when no one was taking care of him. A voiceless soul, who couldn't ask for help when his owner went into hospice. He and his doggy siblings were left to fend for themselves. Rickey may not be a coonhound or basset but he is absolutely the definition of a Helpless Hound. He been through so much in his 4 years, and has never known what it's like just be a dog. UNTIL NOW. Here's to you Rickey, and your new life. We are here to make sure you get to live every day to the fullest. We will make sure you know that you will be clean, fed, and have a warm home to rest your head in. We will take care of you everyday until your new family comes along. And we promise to remind you, every single day, just how special you are. This animal has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Now, he is prepared for his forever home!

Story
This handsome guy is Dawson. Dawson was unfortunately on a euthanization list and his time was almost up. He is only 2 years old. He is playful, good with other dogs, affectionate to people, calm...and about to lose his life because he was in a shelter that was filling up again. But he is safe now and ready for his people! Dawson is a great size at 45 lbs and definitely crate trained. He would make any family a wonderful addition. Our applications for Dawson can be found at www.carerescueok.org. ##1989771##

Story
Buster has been with our family for 2 years now, and he is the best boy I could ask for. He is so gentle with everyone and loves everyone he meets. He doesn’t like other dogs because of a couple dog park instances when he was younger, but he does well if he can be slowly introduced. He has a cat sister currently and is very gentle with her. Unfortunately, I have an autoimmune disease that is making it difficult for me to give him the exercise and attention he needs and deserves. He will come with a kennel, food in a big container, bowls, leash, collar, harness, and toys. We are also willing to give $200 to go towards getting him adjusted in your home. We love him and want to make sure he gets everything he needs to be comfortable with the transition.
