My 83 year old mom adopted Penelope in August 2025. She was grieving a dog she lost in June. Knowing a Kelpie was a herding breed, my mom was expecting the beagle to be the more dominant breed. My mother soon realized Penelope had more energy than a regular puppy. Penelope soon started eating everything! pillows, rugs, a footstool, clothes, pretty much anything. She is definitely more Kelpie and needed more than my mom could give. My mom agreed to let me take Penelope to my house. My house is more active. I have kids and another dog, we can exercise her. She has eaten my couch, clothes, throw pillows, tv remote and more. She loves to dig holes in the backyard.Penelope is a good dog, She is crate trained and housebroken. We have fallen in love with her! But, we are not the right fit for her either. We are not doing her any favors by trying to keep her. She is a working dog and needs to be outside where she can work, run and play.She needs a forever home
