Story
My 83 year old mom adopted Penelope in August 2025. She was grieving a dog she lost in June. Knowing a Kelpie was a herding breed, my mom was expecting the beagle to be the more dominant breed. My mother soon realized Penelope had more energy than a regular puppy. Penelope soon started chewing and eating pretty much anything. She is definitely more Kelpie and needed more than my mom could give.My mom agreed to let me take Penelope to my house. My house is more active. I have kids and another dog, and we can exercise her. She still chews things but I genuinely believe if she was in the right environment she would chew less.Penelope is a good dog, She is crate trained and housebroken. We have fallen in love with her! But, we are not the right fit for her. She is a working dog and needs to be outside. Please help us find Penelope Rose her forever home.

Story
Approx. 3 years old | ~45 lbs Meadow is a high-energy, playful dog who loves being around people. She’s confident, affectionate, and truly has never met a stranger. If you’re looking for a dog that will greet you with excitement every time you walk in the door, Meadow is that dog. She has completed basic obedience training and has a solid foundation. Meadow walks well on a leash and responds to verbal commands like sit and down. She also knows “touch” using a touch pad and can move into proper basic position on cue. Meadow does well with children and gets along with male dogs. She would do best in a home that can match her energy level and continue to engage her both physically and mentally.

Story
Robin is a 3-year-old male and a true survivor! He has overcome incredible odds and deserves the best forever home. Two years ago, this brave boy was on the euthanasia list due to a severe injury after getting caught in a kennel door. We saved his leg, and although it's permanently deformed, it doesn’t slow him down one bit! Robin has a pawsitively infectious zest for life! Weighing about 47 pounds, he is most likely a mix of Carolina dog, Staffordshire Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier, and maybe even some Kelpie. With that DNA and his resilient spirit, Robin truly is a super mutt! Here are some more things to know about Robin: He is potty and crate trained and understands basic commands. He is also a saint in a crate. Robin is great with other dogs and kids and loves being around humans of all ages. He walks well on a leash and loves exploring the world with you. He’s a resilient, loving, and spirited dog who’s ready to fill your home with joy and companionship. Interested in becoming a forever home for Robin? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Robin. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Robin the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $175. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!
