Story
Josie, a lovable German Shepherd mix puppy with a heart as big as her paws! Josie is the definition of sweet—she greets everyone with a wagging tail, a goofy grin, and a sparkle in her eyes that says, `Let’s be best friends!` She has a gentle nature that makes her a joy to be around, whether she’s meeting new people, playing with other pups, or soaking up belly rubs on the couch.Playful and full of puppy energy, Josie is always up for fun. She loves exploring the world around her, chasing toys, and turning even the simplest moments into happy adventures. But after a good romp, she’s more than happy to snuggle up for a well-earned nap. With her cheerful spirit, affectionate heart, and eager-to-please personality, Josie is already showing the loyal and loving qualities that make German Shepherds such incredible companions.ADOPTION PACKAGEThank you for your interest in adopting your next pet from The Haven. Story
UPDATE!! Meet Kujo! This boy came to us from our local county shelter. He’s an adorable Aussie mix. He’s around 2 years and 35 lbs. He was a little timid at the shelter when he first arrived but has turned into a total lovebug at his foster home. He’s still a little timid in new situations but does open up quick.. He has settled into foster care and is doing wonderful. He loves cuddles and is good on a leash. He just needs a little patience while adjusting. He’s utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and neutered. Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Thank you! Story
FROGGY UPDATE!!&#226&#156&#168 Our little Mega Esophagus is THRIVING!!  Froggy is now going on 5-6 months and is 7.5 lbs! After further evaluation we do believe the diagnosis of PRAA was incorrect. He’s just simply a Mega E boy. He’s healthy, happy and doing wonderful. He doesn’t miss a beat and the only thing he requires is to eat upright in his special chair and to stay up right for 5 minutes after. He has not had any vomiting spells in weeks with this and is off all medications.  Froggy, also known as Possom by those that love him, was quickly outgrowing his special chair and that some amazing people donated and he had a new one delivered that will go with him to his adoptive family. Sadly, we believe Froggy and his siblings are the product of a double merle breeding. We do believe he is hearing impaired to some extent. He’s been started on training with a vibrating collar and he’s picking up on cues quickly. He’s mastered sit with sign language and working on paw, stay and down. This boy is very smart and so eager to please. We thought this litter was is a Aussie/Pom mix of some sort, but a sibling was DNA tested and came back primarily Pomsky. We just sent off for his DNA, health screening and size projection possibility. He will likely be a smaller-medium sized adult. He’s active and will need an active household. He would thrive with another dog and a large yard, as he loves the outdoors.  We would love to find an experienced special needs family for this boy that has experience with his medical conditions. This boy is doing so well in his foster home and we want to see that carry over to his forever family. Froggy has so much to give to the right person with the patience and ability to help him through his medical challenges that he did not ask for but sadly was dealt.  Froggy is officially adoption ready! He’s utd, neutered and the sweetest boy you will ever meet!  We will be very selective on this boy — yes he’s adorable but he’s not for everyone. He will come with his elevated bowl for feeding time!  Please reach out with any additional questions regarding his care and or adoption!  If you feel you can give this boy the perfect forever home he deserves — please fill out the app below!  ADOPTION APPLICATION LINK IN BIO!  https://form.jotform.us/70898112177159 Thank you to all the donors who have donated towards his care for us to get to this point!
