Story
Cowboy (4 years old- 34 LBS) is absolutely gorgeous and so sweet. He is only 4 years old and has been bounced a couple of time already. Hi first Dad passed away and the family didn't want him so he end it up in a shelter where he was going to be euthanized because eh was scared. Then he was adopted but the family were not patient with this sweet boy and gave him up for the second time. Their dogs were not nice with Cowboy and it was too intense in the house not to the fault of Cowboy. After Wednesday Cowboy wont have a new home and it is critical for him to find a home. He is fine with other dogs but need a calm dog. Not a crazy and intense house- Best with no kids or cats. He is a great dog and wants to give his heart to you!!! Cowboy si an affectionate, gentle, and lovable dog. He is not aggressive toward others- Cowboy is housebroken. The key toCowboy's heart is affection. He craves it. Each evening,I invited him onto my recliner and petted him off and on all evening. I believe this single thing is why Cowboy bonded to me so quickly. He absolutely loves to play with toys. If you can help Cowboy please email us and fill out the application. His adoption fee is $200.00 He comes with training lessons to help with the transition.

Story
This big playful boy came to us by way of Lee County Domestic Animal Services, as they were running out of space. We often pull dogs from other shelters that don’t have the luxury of time that we do at ARC. Ozzie is affectionate, playful and very energetic. It would be best if he went to a home that had adequate time to train him and had experience in handling large breed dogs. Our staff has slowly been socializing him with other dogs, but it’s still a work in progress. At this point, we are recommending that he does not go to a home with small children. Ozzie would also not do well in a home with cats. But… if you’re an active and energetic home with older children and the time to provide Ozzie the play and exercise he needs, you might just be a great home for him! Why not make an appointment to visit this handsome fellow today?! Story
Sweet Cali came to our rescue in November from a breeder/ hoarder situation where she was chained to a tree 24 hours a day with only a dog igloo to shield her from the elements. Needless to say when she arrived at her foster home, she was anxious, and terrified of humans and hid in the closet for most of the day. She has blossomed into a calm, happy, playful girl, and is learning to trust humans. Cali likes to spend her days playing with her dog friends, lounging around the house and outside in the sunshine. She definitely prefers a quiet people household with minimal activity (so no young kids), she moves to the bedroom when things get loud or she feels overwhelmed. She sleeps on my bed at night and comes up in the morning for loves and pets, however the rest of the day she is reserved and independent . She has the personality of a cat, minus the litter box. Cali loves her dog friends and has become attached to my larger male golden retriever. She follows him everywhere. She will need a home with at least 1 other dog to show her the ropes and continue to help build her confidence. Cali is submissive and will do great in home with other dogs. She is also cat friendly and doesn’t pay them any attention. Cali can be left for a few hours without any problems, has an occasional accident in the house, does well in the car and at the vet. She will need a fenced in yard of her own (no dog parks), is learning to walk on a leash, and is ready for training. She is estimated to be about 3.5 years old, around 30lbs, up to date on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and on prevention. A meet and greet is required. If this sweet girl sounds perfect for you, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to her new furever family. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.
