Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Ft. Myers, FL Meet Eva! She is an 6 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 40 lbs. Story
Meet Gigi. This sweet girl was surrendered for adoption by her owner due to a lack of time. As a Mini Australian Shepherd, Gigi is a herding breed who thrives with both physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep her happy and engaged. Gigi will need space to run and a family who enjoys staying active—but she also has a soft, affectionate side. Once she comes out of her shell, she loves to be close and soak up all the cuddles. If you have the time, space, and love to share, Gigi is ready to fill your home and heart. Why not complete an application and schedule an appointment to meet this lovable girl today? https://animalrefugecenter.com/adoption-application My ideal home: I need a young active family to keep me stimulated then cuddle with me when I am all tuckered out. Story
Oreo is a 5-year-old- 46LBS neutered male Australian Shepherd/Beagle mix with a heart as sweet as his name. This beautiful, clean, and intelligent boy has a loving personality and is searching for his forever person — someone he can stay close to and love endlessly. Oreo came to us from a difficult past, but during his two months in foster care, he’s made wonderful progress. He’s learning manners, boundaries, and how to simply enjoy being part of a caring home. He has especially bonded with his foster dad and loves following him everywhere — his happiest moments are just being by his person’s side. Oreo would thrive in a calm home with someone who is retired or works from home, as he truly needs to be with his people. While he gets along with other dogs, he doesn’t require a canine companion. His ideal home would be one without young children, where he can relax and feel secure. Oreo is ready to give his heart completely to someone who will offer him love, patience, and a safe forever home. He will be a loyal and devoted companion to the person lucky enough to call him theirs . If you're interested in making Oreo a part of your family, please get in touch with his rescuers! His adoption fee is $150 which cover his shots and heartworm prevention. He is healthy and has many more years of love to give. He was purchased as a puppy from a breeder. Our dogs are cared for in loving homes, not kennels, and we work closely with each one to understand their needs, personalities, and quirks. This way, when you adopt, you know everything possible about your new companion - no surprises, just a smoother transition into your family. The adoption fee reflects the time, care, and support we dedicate to every dog, ensuring they are healthy, happy, and ready for their forever home.

Story
Meet Matt Murdock, approximately 16 week old, likely double merle puppy. He is visually impaired and deaf- but nobody told him! He is a spectacular puppy- gets along great with other dogs, kids, and people; will chase cats if they run- but gentle with them nonetheless, very well behaved, sweet and cuddly. Believe it or not- this guy doesn’t use or need a crate! He is about 90% house trained with the use of a belly band, and he entertainers himself by playing with toys and other dogs. He sleeps all night on the bed next to his person, and let you know if he needs to go outside. He is small and will likely remain on the smaller size becoming tall and skinny. He gets along great with other dogs both male and female and could definitely use an older sibling to play with and help guide him. He is learning to walk on a leash and is already picking it very quickly. This little guy is ready for his furever home and will make a great addition as a family dog, a fenced in yard is required since this little guy is deaf. Could consider apartment home in the right situation. If you would like to give these sweet little guy a furever home, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additioal $20 microchip fee which includes registration and tranfer to his new furever family and a REFUNDABLE $50 neuter deposit that will be refunded upon proof of procedure.

Story
Crash Aussiedoodle Full size Birthday 9/15/25 Little guys, 4 months old — brothers Crash and Eddie, our “opossum brothers” from the Ice Age movie — are looking for loving homes. They can be adopted together, but we are happy to separate them if there is another dog in the hometo help them blossom. They are Standard Aussiedoodles with some vision and hearing challenges, yet they do wonderfully navigating their environment. They find their food and water without any issues and are curious, playful, and affectionate — just like puppies should be. These boys are extremely sweet, very social, and sensitive souls. They love to explore and would thrive in an active home familiar with the Aussiedoodle breed and their needs. Their coats are incredibly soft and absolutely stunning. Sadly, they are breeder throwaways, but they deserve nothing less than a safe, loving home where they can grow and shine. If you’re ready to open your heart to one (or both!) of these special boys, please reach out. Please complete an adoption application at https://form.jotform.com/202126352339045 Applications are evaluated in the order received. Adoption fees help fund the ever increasing veterinary and daily care of our other animals in need. *IF adoption fee includes spay and neuter- cryptorchid surgery is not included.

Story
Meet Yuma! This beautiful 8-year-old girl weighs about 44 pounds and is a wonderful senior companion looking for her forever home. Yuma has spent time in a foster home where her personality really shined—she’s quirky, very chill, and enjoys living life at her own relaxed pace. She’s not a high-energy dog and much prefers calm, easy-going environments where she can simply exist comfortably and happily. Yuma is the type of dog who values her space and appreciates people who understand and respect her boundaries. She can be a little moody at times, but she’s also incredibly sweet and affectionate once she feels secure. She’ll happily soak up love and attention from her person, but she doesn’t need constant fussing over—just someone who truly gets her. Because of her personality, Yuma will need a home with no other animals—no dogs, no cats, no small pets—and absolutely no kids. She thrives in a quiet, adult-only household where her routine is predictable and stress-free. In the right home, Yuma will be the most loyal and easy companion, bringing warmth and joy every single day. If you’re looking for a low-maintenance, affectionate, and wonderfully unique senior dog to share your life with, Yuma may be the perfect match.
