Story
Dunder has been our hearts for 8 years, and writing this is one of the hardest things we’ve ever done. We’ve loved him since the day he came home at 8 weeks old, and finding him the perfect next chapter is the most important thing we can do for him. Dunder is a sweet, energetic, and deeply loving Australian Shepherd who thrives in a calm, consistent home. He loves playing fetch, going on long walks, and curling up for cuddles — the perfect companion for an active adult or couple who can give him the attention and energy he deserves. Where Dunder shines: In a quieter home environment with familiar people, Dunder is an absolute joy — affectionate, playful, and loyal to his core. He is house trained and has been a wonderful companion throughout his life. What Dunder needs in his new home: Due to our growing family, we are no longer able to provide Dunder with the environment he needs to feel safe and settled. Dunder does best in a home without young children. He can become overstimulated

Story
We are a family of six teenage pups who came from a shelter in South Carolina. When we left, we were told that life was about to get better—and they were right. When we arrived at Big Dog Ranch Rescue, everything began to change for us. The love, care, and kindness we have experienced here has been truly unbelievable. For the first time, we were able to relax, learn, play, and just be happy dogs. The people here helped us grow, taught us new things, and showed us what it feels like to be safe and cared for. We’ve made friends, both two-legged and four-legged, and every day has helped prepare us for the future. Even though we will be a little sad to leave, we always knew that Big Dog Ranch was just a stop along the way—a place to help us get ready for our real homes. Now that time has come. We’ve learned so much here, and we will miss everyone at the ranch, but we are very excited to start the next chapter of our lives—with our forever families.

Story
Cooper is turning 8years old on 3/14/2026, he is still very playful and affectionate. He knows plenty of commands. He’s a good listener. Still has plenty of time for playing and loving new friends. Cooper does wonderful with kids and dogs. He’s curious about cats but none like him yet. Loves the park, walks, open fields, he enjoys the dog beach and eating bubbles Our family is in a season of life that has prevented us from giving the attention Cooper deserves. We would love to stay in contact with his new family. Our toddler loves Cooper.

Story
Looking for twice the love, twice the loyalty, and twice the Aussie charm? Brand and Rigby are a bonded pair of Australian Shepherds who balance each other out in the best way—and they’re ready to find a forever home together!Brand is a merle-and-white goofball with endless energy and a heart of gold. He’s the social butterfly of the duo, always ready to make new friends and always convinced every adventure is his adventure. Fetch, walks, swimming—you name it, he’s in! He sticks close to his people, knows a few tricks, crates well when home alone, and absolutely loves being brushed. Just make sure you’ve got a secure fence; Brand likes to test the boundaries! He did test positive for heartworm upon first coming to us, but has since been treated and retested, so he is all clear now! Rigby, his brown-and-white sister, is the gentle old soul of the pair. She’s calm, thoughtful, and happiest relaxing near her people. She enjoys quiet walks, light grooming sessions, and cozy crate time. She’s affectionate and people-oriented, preferring pets and cuddles over toys. Rigby can be a bit protective of her food around other pets, but she’s very easygoing and sweet with humans. She has completed treatment for Lyme disease and Ehrlichia and is feeling wonderful. These two complement each other beautifully—Brand brings the goofy enthusiasm, Rigby brings the mellow sweetness, and together they create the perfect balance of fun, companionship, and devotion.Brand and Rigby are currently thriving in a loving foster home. If you’re interested in adopting this dynamic duo, please fill out an adoption application and speak with our Front Office Staff about the next steps!Requirements: Martingale Collars; No Small Children (Rigby)All of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Our adoption fee helps cover this cost.
