Story
This stunning boy is Knox! Knox is a German Shepherd and Austalian Shepherd mix we were told from his prior owner. This 8 month old boy is all puppy and full of energy. He gets along great with all other dogs, kids, and cats (although he would chase a cat if it runs).  He would love to be in a forever home that is active and can provide him with lots of fun and play time. Knox is kennel trained and potty trained with a doggie door in his foster home, he may have a pee accident if not taken out routinely if he doesn't have access to a doggie door. He is only used to being kenneled for about 4 hours a day and loves to be in bed for the night with his humans. Knox is a velcro dog, he wants to be by your side or in your lap most of the time, but does NOT have seperation anxiety. He plays very well with dogs of all sizes and ages, he would love a playmate, although not required. He is also a huge fan of TOYS, he will happily entertain himself if his friends or humans won't.  He was given up by his prior family for having too much energy for their apartment lifestyle, so no apartments for Knox please.  His adoption fee of $300 covers his neuter, vaccines, deworming, microchip with registration, and current monthly flea, tick, and heartworm preventions. Story
Introducing Mikey! He is very sweet but very shy. He is thought to be a mini aussie or border collie mix who only weighs 35 pounds and is 1 year 8 months old. He will need someone who will have the patience to earn his trust, he will quickly be the best friend you could ever ask for. When you look in his eyes you'll see that he really want to just snuggle in. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Mikey is crate trained and is working on potty training. He is great with other dogs and loves to play with them. Due to his skittish nature Mikey does require a securely fenced yard. Mikey is neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, current on vaccines and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is only $300. Story
Osiris may take a little time to warm up, but once you’ve earned his trust, you’ll discover a goofy, loyal best friend with a heart that’s absolutely worth the wait. This 5-year-old Australian Shepherd mix (61 lbs) is house-trained, quietly intelligent, and full of personality once he feels safe. At first, he takes his time getting to know new people, but he’s already shown what’s possible when someone invests in him. The staff at Wish Bone took that time, and now they get to see the real Osiris—goofy, playful, and affectionate. He’s a classic “watch first, trust later” kind of guy. In a home environment, you’ll often find him lounging on the couch, keeping tabs on the outside world like it’s his favorite reality show. But when he’s comfortable? Cue the zoomies. His silly side comes alive, especially enjoying his favorite toys. Osiris enjoys walks, car rides, and a good chew session, and he generally walks nicely on leash…unless a critter makes a guest appearance. Then his herding instincts kick in and it’s game on. He can also be a bit mouthy in play, and needs an adopter willing to work with him on manners. Because he startles easily and is still building confidence, Osiris is looking for an adult-only home with someone experienced in herding breeds. He’ll do best in a quieter home with few visitors, or one where he has a safe, comfortable space to retreat to when company comes over. He thrives on routine, patience, and people who respect his space. With patience, understanding, and a little time, Osiris blossoms into an incredibly devoted companion. The people who know him best have already seen how much love, personality, and potential he has to give, and the right home is going to be rewarded with one very special dog. His minimum adoption fee is $300, plus a $15 rabies registration fee for McLean County residents (if applicable). He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities!
