Story
Introducing Mikey! He is very sweet but very shy. He is thought to be a mini aussie or border collie mix who only weighs 35 pounds and is 1 year 8 months old. He will need someone who will have the patience to earn his trust, he will quickly be the best friend you could ever ask for. When you look in his eyes you'll see that he really want to just snuggle in. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Mikey is crate trained and is working on potty training. He is great with other dogs and loves to play with them. Due to his skittish nature Mikey does require a securely fenced yard. Mikey is neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, current on vaccines and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is only $300. Story
Hi, I’m Lenny, a goofy teddy bear who is always happy to be part of whatever is happening. Meeting new people? Wonderful. Going for a walk? Even better. Playing fetch? Absolutely. Hopping in the car for a ride or heading out on an adventure? Count me in. Relaxing at home afterward? Perfect. I’m friendly, affectionate, and a big fan of belly rubs. Sometimes I get so excited that I lean my whole body into you, dramatically flop at your feet, and wait for the attention I’m sure I’ve earned. I also love praise. Tell me I’m a good boy, and my wagging tail will let you know that you said exactly the right thing. I’m a devoted fan of balls, and I’m not picky about which kind. I’m always happy to play fetch, but I’m also good at taking cues from my person. Tell me playtime is over, and I’ll settle down. Let me know you’re ready for another round, and I’m right back in the game. With my other toys, I’m perfectly capable of entertaining myself. I’ll toss them around, pounce after them, and create my own one-dog version of fetch. I also enjoy chewing on antlers or Kongs. I love going for walks and do very well on a leash, which makes me a great companion for neighborhood strolls and adventures. I also enjoy car rides and cooling off in the creek whenever I get the chance. After I’ve had some exercise, playtime, and time with my people, I’m happy to settle in and relax. I’m potty trained and do well with both dogs and cats. I enjoy being close to my person, but I can also stay home alone and settle in after a few minutes. What do you say? Apply to meet me and see whether I’m the goofy teddy bear you’ve been looking for. www.fosterpetoutreach.org

Story
Shunka is a 2 year old shepard/collie mix. He's very sweet and always ready for a car ride or to play catch. We unfortunately have to re-home him due to his herding instincts; he will not stop herding our oldest dog and it's leading to fights now (he gets along well with our other dog). My daughter moved back home with a cat recently and he won't let the cat come upstairs. He needs a home that doesn't have other pets. He does okay with kids and strangers but has to be watched around very small children because he does jump up when he's excited. He is an excellent guard dog, he only barks if someone is outside of the house (or if you're keeping a toy/ball from him).He is potty trained, he will let you know when he needs to go outside by pawing at you and whining. He really is just the sweetest baby that needs a more experienced owner or a home without other cats or dogs.

Story
Osiris may take a little time to warm up, but once you’ve earned his trust, you’ll discover a goofy, loyal best friend with a heart that’s absolutely worth the wait. This 5-year-old Australian Shepherd mix (61 lbs) is house-trained, quietly intelligent, and full of personality once he feels safe. At first, he takes his time getting to know new people, but he’s already shown what’s possible when someone invests in him. The staff at Wish Bone took that time, and now they get to see the real Osiris—goofy, playful, and affectionate. He’s a classic “watch first, trust later” kind of guy. In a home environment, you’ll often find him lounging on the couch, keeping tabs on the outside world like it’s his favorite reality show. But when he’s comfortable? Cue the zoomies. His silly side comes alive, especially enjoying his favorite toys. Osiris enjoys walks, car rides, and a good chew session, and he generally walks nicely on leash…unless a critter makes a guest appearance. Then his herding instincts kick in and it’s game on. He can also be a bit mouthy in play, and needs an adopter willing to work with him on manners. Because he startles easily and is still building confidence, Osiris is looking for an adult-only home with someone experienced in herding breeds. He’ll do best in a quieter home with few visitors, or one where he has a safe, comfortable space to retreat to when company comes over. He thrives on routine, patience, and people who respect his space. With patience, understanding, and a little time, Osiris blossoms into an incredibly devoted companion. The people who know him best have already seen how much love, personality, and potential he has to give, and the right home is going to be rewarded with one very special dog. His minimum adoption fee is $250, plus a $15 rabies registration fee for McLean County residents (if applicable). He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
