Story
Max is a 5-year-old Australian Shepherd (Aussie) who is truly such a wonderful dog. He’s very chill, incredibly smart, and great with kids. He has been a loved part of our family, and this is a very difficult decision for us. Unfortunately, we just aren’t able to give Max the time and attention he deserves. Shortly after getting him, we started having babies, and our family has grown much faster than we ever anticipated. We’re now about to welcome our fourth child, with our oldest only being 4. I do my best to keep up with everyone, but with the size of our home, four little ones, and everything that comes with a growing family, I feel that Max would ultimately be happier with a family who has more time to give him the attention, exercise, and companionship he deserves. This is not because of anything Max has done—he really is an amazing dog. We just want to do what’s best for him and find him a home where he can truly thrive and get the love and attention he deserves.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Bow! Bow is a fluffy little Aussie/Shepherd mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He's the perfect mix of playful and affectionate, equally happy chasing a ball or curling up beside you on the couch for snuggles. Bow is fully house-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and knows several basic commands including sit, wait and down. He absolutely loves playing fetch and never says no to a car ride, making him a great adventure buddy. He's good with other dogs but tends to do his own thing rather than looking for canine playmates. He's also cat-friendly! Around people, Bow is incredibly affectionate and loves spending time with his favorite adults. Bow does have one important quirk: he resource guards food and bones, so he'll do best with a family that understands and can manage that behavior appropriately. He also has a loud bark (and occasionally lets out a dramatic "scream"), so he likely isn't the best fit for apartment living. Because we don't know how Bow does with children, a home with older kids or adults would be the safest match until more is known. If you're looking for a loyal companion who loves adventures, fetch, and cozy couch cuddles, Bow might just be your perfect match! How’s adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccines and heartworm testing. If you would like to meet Bow, please submit an adoption application through our website: Adopthope.org. Last Hope requires that adopters have a history of having g kept other animals as indoor pets, altered and kept current on annual vet care and all vaccines. Our adoption process includes a vet history check and a home visit. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 29, 2026, 10:18 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Looking for a pup who's a full meal deal? Meet Quarter Pounder, or QP for short! This lovable guy is packed with personality, extra sweetness, and a side of puppy fun.  QP is an incredibly sweet, playful pup with a personality as big as his heart! This curious guy loves to explore the world around him and is always ready for his next adventure. His favorite thing is making new puppy friends and he is always ready for a play session. He is however terrified of cats and would prefer a home without any. While he enjoys treats, his true favorite is a good plush toy. He's also a smart cookie—he learned "sit" very quickly and is eager to keep learning with positive reinforcement. He greets everyone with a happy tail wag and has the funniest little habit of carrying things wherever he goes. Sticks? Yep. Toys? Absolutely. His own leash? Of course! If he can pick it up, he'll proudly parade around with it. He even tries to walk himself sometimes! QP rides wonderfully in the car, making him the perfect copilot for errands or adventures. As a young puppy, he's still working on potty training, so he'll need a patient family ready to help him learn and grow. QP's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations and preventatives, plus a free basic obedience course at Cedar Run Company in Hiawatha. QP is seeking an indoor only home with adopters who have a history of having kept their pets altered and current on vaccinations and preventatives. Our adoption process includes a vet history check and a home visit. If you would like to meet QP, please submit an adoption application through our website, Adopthope.org.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 29, 2026, 10:18 pm

Story
Meet Marley! Some dogs bounce into your life. Marley simply settles into your heart. At 12½ years young, Marley has perfected the art of being the kind of companion everyone hopes to find. She's affectionate without being demanding, happy to curl up beside you for a nap, and always ready to greet you with a wagging tail and a gentle smile. Don't let her age fool you, Marley still has plenty of life left! She easily climbs stairs, enjoys exploring the yard, and every now and then she'll surprise you with a playful game of "chase me" that reminds you there's still a puppy hiding inside that sweet face. Marley is incredibly smart and has wonderful house manners. She's fully house trained, settles nicely in the home, and quickly learns routines. She's the type of dog who makes life easier, not harder. One of Marley's greatest gifts is her easygoing personality. She gets along beautifully with other dogs, has been respectful of cats, and would thrive in a peaceful home with adults. If there are children in the home, older, respectful children would be the best fit for her. More than anything, Marley simply wants to be near her people, soaking up the love and companionship that makes a house feel like home. If you're looking for a hiking partner who needs to run five miles a day, Marley will happily cheer you on from the couch. But if you're looking for a loyal friend to keep you company while you read a book, watch a movie, garden, or enjoy a peaceful evening on the porch, Marley is your girl. Senior dogs have a special way of loving. They're grateful for every soft bed, every gentle pat, every meal, and every day they get to spend with their family. Marley is no exception. She has so much love to give and is simply waiting for someone to give her the forever home she deserves. Marley is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, 4Dx tested and current on prevention. Applications to meet Marley can be submitted within her bio, here: https://www.aplanimalrescue.org/dogs

Story
Meet Rosie If you're looking for a sweet, easygoing companion who already knows how to be a wonderful dog, Rosie may be your girl! This beautiful Australian Shepherd mix is 5 years old and weighs 34 pounds. Rosie came to Fur Fun Rescue after her previous owner was involved in a serious accident and could no longer care for her. While it was a difficult change for Rosie, she has shown us what a special girl she is. Rosie is well trained, well mannered, and eager to please. She knows her basic commands, has good recall, and walks nicely on a leash. She is also housetrained. Rosie enjoys spending time outside, and a physically fenced yard is a must so she can safely enjoy one of her favorite things—being outdoors! On sunny days, you may find her happily rolling in the grass or standing with her nose in the air, taking in all the interesting scents around her. Rosie would do best in a quieter home without lots of people coming and going. Her ideal situation would likely be with a single person who wants a loyal companion and is looking to form a special bond with their dog. Rosie gets along well with other dogs, but she would also be perfectly happy being the only dog in the home. There is something wonderfully special about Rosie. She isn't looking for a busy, complicated life—she's looking for her person, a peaceful home, a fenced yard, and someone who will appreciate what a gem she is. Rosie is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, microchipped, and housetrained. If you think Rosie might be the perfect addition to your life, please fill out an adoption application on our website at www.furfunrescue.org. Questions about Rosie? Contact rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657. Help us find this sweet girl the quiet, loving forever home she deserves! Indoor homes only. Adopters within 2 hours of Cedar Rapids, IA only. Rosie's adoption fee is $300.

Story
Harvey is a loyal, intelligent boy who is looking for someone willing to see the incredible dog behind his reserved first impression. He was surrendered after struggling with new people and the addition of a baby in his previous home. While those changes were difficult for him, they do not define who he is. Harvey has so many wonderful qualities and is simply looking for a home that understands his needs and is committed to helping him succeed. Harvey is the kind of dog who takes his time getting to know new people. He doesn't rush into friendships, but once you've earned his trust, you'll have a devoted companion by your side. He is gentle, thoughtful, and enjoys a predictable routine where he knows what to expect. He walks nicely on a leash, takes treats politely, knows "sit," and has excellent house manners. He is house trained, crate trained, and keeps his kennel clean. Harvey gets along with other dogs but has found the shelter environment to be stressful, which is understandable after such a big life change. He would thrive in a quieter home with older children or adults who can respect his boundaries and allow him to build confidence at his own pace. An experienced owner who believes in positive reinforcement, structure, and advocating for their dog will help Harvey become the very best version of himself. Those who know Harvey describe him as an amazing dog, and it's easy to see why. He doesn't need someone to "fix" him. He needs someone willing to understand him, provide consistency, continue his training, and appreciate the loyal, intelligent companion he truly is. For the right family, Harvey will be an incredibly rewarding partner whose trust and devotion are earned, making the bond all the more special.
