Story
I adopted this dog from abusive situation and it has brought me so much love and comfort but I need to live myself and he timid lost his trust in most people and needs someone to show him that it will be OK. I just want to find someone willing to work with this slightly terrerorial traumatized dog to make him OK. I know he isn't that far gone. He got used to me just fine and people close to me but very weary of strangers. I'm trying to get into drug treatment but my heart and this dog is holding me back. I've been wrestling with this decision for a long time. No fee for the right place. I'm only asking for a fee to make sure person is serious. If you show me than no need for fee. Just give him a good life or train him better n give him to his forever home

Story
***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** This gorgeous gal Momma Sue.  She is a pure bred Australin shepherd.  You may remember her from the video of the night she was rescued?  She had been at large for months and the efforts to secure her were not working.  Then during the first ice storm of the season someone found her puppies and the rest is history.  Her pups have all gone to their forever homes and are doing amazing.  Now its time for Sue to find her forever home.  After her pups left the nest, Sue moved on to a foster home as well.  She was so sad to be all alone in the puppy room with no one to play with.  Her foster has other dogs and cats and Sue does great with all of them.  Sue is about 2 years old, loving and affectionate with her humans.  She is kennel trained and house trained and loves to snuggle on the couch. She is learning to play with toys and is still pretty scared of new things but with time and patience she will continue to learn that people care about her and are safe.  She would do best in a home with other dogs and older kids. She does prefer women but she is ok with men.  Sue is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.  Her adoption fee is $275.00May 3, 2025, 8:46 pm

Story
This is Ollie. He was rescued from a dog breeder in 2021 and is a sweet, sweet boy. He’s half Australian shepherd and the other half is husky, beagle, and Heinz 57. It breaks my heart to let him go but he deserves to be with someone who can give him more room to run around and thrive and who can be with him more. I recently had to downsize due to a divorce and work a crazy schedule, which has been very stressful for him. I’d love to see him with a good family ❤️

Story
- Loves people and companionship - Does well on a leash - A sweet, quiet guy - May take some time to warm up to new dogs and may prefer some dogs over others, but enjoys spending time with dogs who have a similar play style (dog intro recommended) - Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for him (mature home recommended) All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Rust Weight: 65.2 Age: 2yrs 7mths 0wks

Story
We’re looking to find a loving new home for our 5-year-old Australian Shepherd. She’s a sweet, intelligent dog who loves to run, play, and show off the many tricks she knows. She thrives with active owners who can give her the space and attention she deserves. However, she does show some leash reactivity and occasional aggression toward other dogs, so she would do best in a home without other pets. With the recent addition of a baby to our family and already having another dog, we’ve realized we can’t give her the ideal environment she needs. She would do best in a home without young children or other dogs/cats, where she has plenty of room to run and burn off energy. She’s a wonderful companion for someone with experience and the right setup to help her thrive.
