Story
Carmen is an 8-month-old female Border Collie mix, the perfect medium-sized companion with a stunning tri-color coat that turns heads everywhere she goes. From the moment she arrived at the shelter, she has been THAT girl — full of life, full of joy, and full of zoomies. If you’re looking for a dog who brings the energy, Carmen is your girl. She flits happily from person to person and dog to dog, always looking for someone ready to play. Chase, tug, shredding a stuffed toy into fluff confetti — if it’s fun, Carmen’s in. Watching her bounce and romp with other pups is genuinely hilarious, and she plays beautifully with dogs of all sizes. When the action winds down, Carmen is just as content to flop down beside you, recharge, and wait patiently for the next round of fun. She has that classic Border Collie spark — bright, energetic, and endlessly charming — making her a fantastic adventure buddy for an active family. Carmen gets along wonderfully with other dogs and kids. She’s curious about cats and wants them to play, so with some guidance and boundary-setting, she can absolutely learn to coexist politely. She’s also potty-trained, crate-trained, and working on her basic manners. Carmen would thrive in a home looking for a high-energy companion who meets every day with enthusiasm and a wagging tail. If you’re ready for a loyal sidekick who will bring joy, laughter, and plenty of outdoor fun into your life, Carmen can’t wait to meet you!

Story
This 7-month-old Border Collie/Heeler mix is as charming as they come—named Radar for the adorable way only one of his ears perks up when something catches his attention! His sleek black coat is as soft as it looks, and his personality is just as sweet. Radar can be a little shy when meeting new people or exploring new places, but a few gentle pets and kind words are all it takes for him to warm right up. Once he feels comfortable, he’s affectionate, playful, and full of love. He enjoys playing with other dogs (and even cats!), though he tends to do it on his own terms—sometimes he’s in the mood to romp, and other times he’d rather cuddle up with you. True to his Heeler heritage, Radar is smart, loyal, and still learning about gentle play—he can be a bit mouthy, but with continued guidance, he’ll grow into a well-mannered companion. He’d do best in a loving home that appreciates his sweet, sensitive nature and wants a dog who’ll return that love tenfold. If you’re looking for a cuddly, clever, and completely adorable new family member, Radar might just be your perfect match!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bear is a very handsome blue heeler, looking for an experienced dog owner to have a GREAT life with! Bear is super smart, and he loves to play with other dogs around his size. He requires a home with a playful and submissive canine companion near his size, he especially responds well to female dogs.  Bear is kennel trained as well as potty trained.  He loves to go for long walks and explore, he will make a superb companion for a very lucky owner! Bear does have stranger danger/reactive fears, he came to Last Hope very untrusting of people.  He has done great working with a firm and consistent handler, and will require this is his forever home but will likely always be initially reactive to strangers. Our volunteers have worked with him and found him to be a very friendly and affectionate dog, although he still requires slow and controlled introductions with strangers and will need an owner that appreciates his breed and unique needs. He does seem to settle faster with women.  No children, no cats and preferably a homeowner with a physical fenced in yard.  Bear's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, current vaccinations, and microchip.  Last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor pets only, current on preventatives and vaccinations, and be altered.  Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a vet check and a home visit.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 23, 2025, 11:30 am
