Naya is a one-year-old, 37-pound Golden Retriever, Heeler, and Aussie mix! She’s full of sweetness and is enthusiastic about playtime, outdoor time, and her people. She can be shy at first, but with patience and kindness she opens up and bonds very hard. She recently spent two weeks in a foster home, and they learned so much about her as well as gave her a very good start on her training!Naya’s favorite things are soft and fluffy just like her. She adores burrowing into blankets, cuddling up with a couch pillow, and having soft toys surrounding her. She loves to pair her fluffy things with an afternoon of TV time with her people. She also has a fun-loving, goofy side! Once she feels comfortable, she loves to run and play with soft toys. She also LOVES bones and Beggin` Strips and takes them very gently.Naya’s fosters found she was incredibly smart and had a good hold on several commands such as come, stay, down, up, and lay down after just the two weeks she spent with them. Her future family will have an easy time solidifying these commands!Naya is a medium-energy dog. She loves her walks and adventures, but doesn’t need constant play or activity. After she has the opportunity to run and explore, she’s happy to relax next to her people. She loves to be near her people as often as possible and has a little separation anxiety when they leave home. She doesn’t love to be contained to a crate, but she’s getting better and better with time, and was getting to a point where free roaming could have been an option.Naya could succeed in a home with older children who respect her boundaries and has experienced living with a cat whom she adored! She’s a big people person, but men can make her a smidge nervous at first. Naya is a wonderful dog with a gentle heart! She would do amazing with a family who can give her a little patience and lots of love as she learns to be comfortable. She gets more confident by the day!Naya is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccines. You can visit her at The Babinski Foundation Animal Shelter Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.

Whisper is a Deaf Catahoula or aussie mix. She was a County stray and weights about 39 pounds at 6 months old. She would be best with a family that owns another dog. Because she is deaf, she will not come to you when called, but the family dog will and she will follow him/her to the family member. Already Whisper is showing a great deal of intelligence and is enjoying her time with volunteers who are walking her. She looks forward to learning and is a capable student. Whisper needs someone who understands deaf dogs and knows how to work with them. She has a lot of love to give to that lucky family! She is up to date on shots and spayed.
