Story
Zuko was adopted in 2021 from an accidental litter near my home. He was born in August, and turns 5 this year. Zuko needs room to run, and people to cuddle him. He is a lover of a dog and enjoys being loved on. He loves toys, balls and bones. Zuko is high energy, but low maintenance. He is not suitable for an apartment, because he will bark when he needs to go out. Im looking for someone who is willing to play with him, take him to walk or have a fenced in yard/outside area he is able to run in. He gets along with our other dog, but unfortunately can be dog reactive with others. He has had no issues with the child in the home or children outside the home. He has always been an anxious dog but has never shown any signs of aggression due to it, he just runs away from things he doesnt like. He is caged trained, potty trained, and eats dry food. Zuko is behind on shots.

Story
Meet SPOT, the ultimate bundle of energy who's back at the Harrison County Dog Pound in Cadiz, OH, because his previous owners just couldn't keep up with this Aussie/Pittie loving party animal. SPOT's got more enthusiasm than a toddler on a sugar high and needs a home where his humans are into extreme hiking or jogging - or at the very least, have a large yard and a love for fetch. This little guy lives for toys, but let's be real, he's destroyed many a toy in his time. On the plus side, SPOT's housebroken, gets along swimmingly with other dogs and cats, and is fully vetted. Due to his 'bounce off the walls' personality, older kids only, please. With some training and patience, SPOT could be the perfect companion for an active family willing to take on the challenge. Harrison County Dog Pound. 82900 Toot Rd. Cadiz, OH 43950. Open: Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm; Saturday 9am-2pm; closed Sundays and holidays. Adoption applications are available at the pound or online at harrisoncountydogpoundvolunteers.org. Apple users must submit application using Google, not Safari. Out of state adoptions are welcomed. $40 adoption fee. 740-942-4080

Story
Jackal is a handsome one-year old male Australian Shepherd/Husky mix who was brought to the HSOV on August 20th 2026 by an individual who found him on State Route 821 (between Interstate-77 and State Route 60 in Washington County Ohio). Jackal was accompanied by his companions (Badger and Puma) who are surely his siblings. All three of the boys were wearing a collar, but there was neither an ID tag nor a dog license tag on their collars ... And they were not microchipped. Jackal has a tan-and-cream medium/longhaired coat with subtle black shading, a long extra fluffy tail, and a beautiful Shepherd/Husky tan face with a white stripe on his forehead, a black button nose, a white ring around his slender muzzle, and large erect ears. Jackal's left eye is pale blue while his right eye is brown. Jackal and his relatives all have incredible extra-fluffy tails (the largest fluffiest tails we've ever seen by far .. almost as if they were sporting hair extensions to enhance the length and volume of their tails) (smile). But we can vouch for the boys and report that their tails are indeed natural with no fake extensions. Thanks to HSOV Volunteer Jennie Sherrard for accompanying Jackal for his outdoor photo session. Jackal posed beautifully and was careful to make eye contact with the camera so that everyone could see his stunning eye colors. He gave Jennie several nice hugs while still gazing at the camera. Jackal weighs 36.5 lbs. He did fairly well walking on a leash and was happy when Jennie took him for a short walk after he was finished with his glamour shots. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Jackal and his siblings will be held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that their family will have an opportunity to reclaim them with proof of ownership.

Badger has a black-and-tan medium/longhaired coat, a long extra fluffy tail, and an adorable Shepherd/Husky face with brown eyes, a tan mask, a black button nose, a slender muzzle, and large erect ears. Badger and his relatives all have incredible extra-fluffy tails (the largest fluffiest tails we've ever seen by far .. almost as if they were sporting hair extensions to enhance the length and volume of their tails) (smile). But we vouch for the boys and report that their tails are indeed natural with no fake extensions. Thanks to HSOV Shelter Manager Tracy Lynn for spending time with Badger for his outdoor photo session. Badger was a little apprehensive about the paparazzi/camera 'thing' as well as his new 'home' with so many other dogs nearby and people that he did not yet realize were his new best friends. Badger did himself proud and bravely posed for pictures with encouragement from Tracy and hearing what a 'good boy' he was. Badger weighs 33.5 lbs. He doesn't appear to have been accustomed to walking on a leash, but he made a noble effort and did fairly well for his Petfinder/Facebook debut photos. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Badger and his siblings will be held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that their family will have an opportunity to reclaim them with proof of ownership.
