Is it a white fox? A little white pig? No, it’s Maverick, aka Babe. 🩵Maverick is an 11 month old, 17 pound Mini Australian Shepherd. He is a double Merle, which means that he is the product of irresponsible breeding. So,he comes with a few quirks: he’s had a deformed back leg amputated, and was born with only one eye. His other eye and hearing may be slightly affected, but he does not let these deficits slow him down! He also has genetic kidney disease which is controlled with a prescription food. He needs to stay on this diet to support his kidneys. 🩵Maverick loves to be with people, including children, and wants to greet cats, but his life is playing with toys and other dogs, no matter what size. This little tripod is fast on three legs. While loves to be right by your side, he will need a physical fence, as he tends to lose sight of his person and take off in the wrong direction. 🩵Maverick is a chameleon and will do just about anything his humans are doing. He loves leash walks and car rides, but is just as content being a couch potato. He is potty trained and does well in his crate. 🩵Maverick is up to date on vaccines, on heartworm prevention, microchipped, and neutered. Please look into his breed, so you know what to expect with this adorable little man! Do not let his issues stop you from considering him! He is an absolute doll who will make a wonderful companion. Story
Maverick just turned four in June. He loves to cuddle, play fetch, and run! He was Amish bred and we got him when he was 12 weeks old. As he got older he became very reactive and we have worked with numerous trainers and it has helped a little bit. We are looking to rehome him due to me just having a baby and it is not going well at all, and we’ve been trying to make it work. He is reactive based by fear (what the trainer has explained to us). He loves the attention of people if he knows you but is a completely different dog if he doesn’t know the person. We just want to find the perfect home for him to have the attention, space to run, and loving home.

Meet Lucy! Lucy is believed to be a Mini Australian Shepherd, and at just 12 weeks old and barely 5 pounds, she has already shown us just how capable a tiny puppy can be. Lucy is blind and mostly deaf, but she doesn't know she's different. She has learned her way around her foster home, plays happily with the other dogs, keeps her crate tidy, and is learning to go potty outside. She is curious, playful, affectionate, and incredibly smart. But loving Lucy also means understanding that she will have lifelong special needs. Because Lucy cannot rely on sight or hearing to navigate the world, she must be adopted into a home with another confident, well-adjusted dog. That dog will become an important source of security and guidance as she grows, helping her learn routines, navigate new situations, and feel safe. A securely fenced yard will also be required. For Lucy, a fence isn't simply a preference - it is an essential safety measure. She will never be a dog who can safely wander an unfenced yard or be trusted off leash. Lucy currently uses her mouth and teeth quite a bit to communicated and explore, as puppies do, so we are recommending no young children, especially considering how tiny and vulnerable she is. We know Lucy's perfect home may take a little more searching. She needs someone patient enough to teach her through touch, routine, scent, and consistency. Someone willing to make accommodations throughout her life - not just while she is a cute five-pound puppy. But in return, you get to watch a little dog who experiences the world differently learn that it is safe, predictable, and full of people who love her. ] Lucy doesn't need anyone to feel sorry for her. She needs someone willing to believe in her - and give her the structure and security she needs to thrive. Lucy's forever home must have: ~A confident, friendly resident dog ~A securely fenced yard ~mature children ~Patience and willingness to accommodate a blind/deaf dog throughout her lifetime Lucy is a good girl who deserves her chance. Maybe her person is reading this right now!
