He loves belly rubs and treats and will eat anything. Chases cats but doesn’t hurt them. He just wants to chase something I think. But he is a good boy. Does bark a lot when he wants something, otherwise he’s good. Likes fetch. He’s territorial over his crate or food though.

This spotted cutie is Waylon!Waylon has now been with us at FDHS for a while, and we’ve gotten to know him much better. With our staff, he’s a big giant baby and sweet as pie. Once he trusts you, he’s affectionate, sweet, and loves nothing more than being a lovebug.Waylon can be very cautious when meeting new people and will often bark or growl at first. Because of this, he’s going to do best in a home with rescue dog experience or adopters who are patient and willing to put in the time to earn his trust and help build his confidence. At this time, we don’t feel he would be a good fit for a home with children under 10.He’s shown a lot of curiosity about the other shelter dogs and seems interested in making friends. With proper introductions, we think he could do well in a home with other dogs and likely cats too. Prince is an amazing, loving dog. I got him after I had my first daughter they shared a birthday. He does amazing with kids loves to play. Only concern is he’s a herding dog so he will nip at there feet trying to redirect them so will be better if you have older kids. He loves to have space to run. He does good at home but will go potty in the house if you’re gone all day. He isn’t Crete trained either. I’m looking for a loving new family for my precious boy. Just with my work schedule I’m not home with him enough and can’t keep maintaining the house from him.

Meet Grayson! Grayson is a 2 year old mix, possibly Australian Shepherd or border collie. He is currently in his adoptive home, but unfortunately it is not working out so we are looking for a new place for him to go. We do not have any open foster homes, so we are trying to place him directly into an adoptive home. The good: Grayson is a smart, happy, friendly, playful, affectionate, active boy. He likes other dogs and is OK with confident cats. He likes children. The bad: He can be a bit too playful for older dogs, shy cats or small children.Since he’s most likely, some type of herding breed mixed with something else, he does have a lot of energy, and he does need to be kept busy. If not, he might make his own type of fun, and typical of those breeds he can be a little bit noisy when he’s bored. ;) He also likes to drink… a lot… which means he has to pee… a LOT. Unfortunately he’s not good at holding it. He’s been seen by 2 vets, and neither have found anything wrong. We think he might be better with a dog door and a fenced in yard, or to have a home that spends a lot of time outside. Of course he needs to be inside at night, and we were told that he can usually hold it overnight in a crate if he is let out last thing at night and first thing in the morning. Binx is a 1-year-old Aussie mix weighing 29 pounds. She was caught after she was dumped on a state road. She had a badly injured leg, but it is now healed. We did an Embark DNA test on her. The results are in the photos. She is a gentle, sweet, active girl. She requires an active home with walks, hiking, running or other activity. Her foster has started her on an agility course which she enjoys. She must have a secured fenced in yard. Binx is spayed, up to date on shots, rabies and heartworm negative and on prevention. She does well with dogs and knows her basic commands. She loves to snuggle in bed with you. She gets a little anxious in a crate but enjoys a kong to help her relax.
