Story
Bought Watson from a breeder about 6 years ago, was supposed to be a mini but just kept on growing. He’s full of energy and unfortunately after having another kid we just don’t have the time to give him the proper attention. We also have a very small yard for him to be able to really run around. Needs a yard to be able to roam and stretch the legs. Comes up to date with shots, very loving dog and we’re sad to have to let him go but at this point it seems best for both us and him. Is chipped and has papers but once again the papers are for a mini and he’s around 60 pounds.

Story
This spotted cutie is Waylon!Waylon has now been with us at FDHS for a while, and we’ve gotten to know him much better. With our staff, he’s a big giant baby and sweet as pie. Once he trusts you, he’s affectionate, sweet, and loves nothing more than being a lovebug.Waylon can be very cautious when meeting new people and will often bark or growl at first. Because of this, he’s going to do best in a home with rescue dog experience or adopters who are patient and willing to put in the time to earn his trust and help build his confidence. At this time, we don’t feel he would be a good fit for a home with children under 10.He’s shown a lot of curiosity about the other shelter dogs and seems interested in making friends. With proper introductions, we think he could do well in a home with other dogs and likely cats too. Waylon is a smart, young dog and very treat motivated, though he’s still learning to take treats gently. When he’s not zooming around the yard and burning off energy, Waylon is incredibly affectionate and loves to cuddle. He comes from energetic working-dog heritage, so an active home that’s committed to keeping both his brain and body busy will be key to his success. Waylon has been fully vetted and is available for immediate adoption. He’s just a sweet boy looking for his place in the world and a family to call his own.**Neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. Weighs 72 lbs**

Story
Purchased Finn from an independent person, dog had a litter unplanned. He was 6 months when we adopted him. He is full of energy, loves to play and give kisses. He has been raised with two others dogs and a cat. He is gentle with other animals and gets along well with them. He is totally potty trained, no issues at all with that. He has been around kids and can be good with them. His biggest issue is he is very stranger shy and it takes him a long time to get used to people. Once you are part of the pack, then you are good, but until then he is very defensive and barks. You can break through his defenses quickly by simply offering him a treat. He also really gravitates toward his person and can be come pretty protective of that person. He has been known to nip at people to protect his person. With some time and training I am sure this could be quickly corrected. He is smart and very loving, he will give you all the kisses and hugs you want! A big lap dog for sure.

Story
We fostered and then adopted Benny when he was 6 weeks old. We aren’t sure what breed he is, but he looks like an Australian Shepherd mix. He is a cuddle bug and has tons of energy. He would be a great fit for someone really active who can take him on walks/runs frequently. He is house trained and does not have any accidents inside. He has some resource guarding tendencies with food/water and his sleep space. He is reactive and has anxiety. When he feels scared or threatened he has nipped/bit in the past(mostly surrounding his food area or if he is startled out of a sleep. He is almost 7 years old, but still has the energy that he had as a puppy. Due to his reactive nature, he would not be a good fit around young children. He has been good around other animals in the past, but it has been several years since he has been around other animals, so I’m not sure how he would be now. Feel free to reach out with any questions.

Story
Very sweet, cuddly dog. Sadly, I need to rehome her because she does not do well with young kids. She is mostly potty trained, but does still have accidents from time to time. She would do awesome in a home without kids!
