Hello! My name is Mochi.I`m a timid little guy but working on my confidence in my loving foster home! I do well with dog friends but get overwhelmed if they are too exuberant. Having a friendly, human-social dog in the home will be helpful so I can continue to learn from their positive interactions with people. Once I warm up, I am quite snuggly and very much a lap dog. I`m still learning how to use stairs, full flights of stairs are a bit intimidating. I am very smart and enjoy training or tossing and shaking toys around. I do pretty well in car rides and enjoy walks where I can explore and sniff!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Teenagers may be ok if the home is on the quieter side, but no young children or rambunctious homes given my timid nature.OTHER DOGS: Yes, I enjoy the company of respectful dogs who aren’t too exuberant.CATS: Potentially, with a cat comfortable around dogs.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: I would do best with someone who has previous dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Preferred since I can be overwhelmed in new or busy environments, so having a safe space to wander and sniff outside will be helpful.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings or busy environments where I might get easily overwhelmed.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes.If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the “Adopt Me” button to apply!

Meet Your New Best Friend! Jayce is a 3-year-old Brittnay Mix who is looking for his forever home. While he might be a little shy when you first meet him, give him a moment to come out of his shell, and you'll find a funny, bouncy, and deeply loving companion. Jayce is a "paws-on" kind of dog! He is famous for his hugs and will spend his time trying to wrap his paws around you if he isn't already trying to curl up in your lap. He is the perfect blend of a lounge partner and a playmate. Because of his cautious temperament, Jayce has some specific needs to help him feel safe and successful: No Other Dogs: He prefers being the "only child" and can be reactive toward strange dogs. Quiet Environment: He would not enjoy the high-stress environment of a dog park. Patient Humans: He needs an owner who understands he needs to approach new things at his own pace. No Strangers (at first): He can be vocal with people he doesn't know, but his loyalty to his inner circle is unmatched. If you have the patience to let him blossom, you will be rewarded with a level of love and loyalty that only a dog like Jayce can give. He is ready to be your most devoted friend. Jayce's adoption fee is $325 to offset the cost of vetting and help other rescues in need. He is currently located in Georgia and can be transported up to 1400 miles via our Canine Railroad. Rhonda is a wonderful girl who brought up her two female pups and was found wandering on a back concession in Norfolk County. Once in care of SimcoeDHumane, we started with tests and vaccines. Sure enough, she was found to have heartworm with microfilaria present (Baby Heartworm) and so her healing journey begins!We are looking for a LONG-term foster home or a foster2adopt home that can follow through with her treatment.
