Story
A gorgeous momma and her 3 babies came into rescue this past month with a wonderful foster in Memphis - mom is going through heartworm treatment but is still available on our site and you can see how gorgeous she is - no wonder her babies are stunning. Melody - https://pawsnewengland.com/adopt/pet-13311/The puppies are approx 4 1/2 months old and are up to date on all vaccinations and ready to travel - we never guarantee house training status. Tprrie sure is happy to be getting good meals and cuddles. She had been camping outdoors with her sisters for a little too long, but she was luckily scooped up and taken in for vetting and a bath - and she is one thankful puppy!Breed: Australian Shepherd/ShepherdSex: FemaleAge: 19 weeks as of 4/14Weight: Spayed/Neutered: Too young - Spay/Neuter Contract will be required and strictly enforcedVaccinations:   Puppy vaccines will be up to date - all vaccinations required after adoption are the responsibility of the adopter.Heartworm: Too young (testing is done at 6 months of age)Housetrained:  Not usuallyMicrochipped: YesLocation of dog currently: Arriving New England 4/20Puppy Adoption Fee:  $550.00 (includes spay/neuter surgery rebate of up to $200.00 to be paid to adopter when proof of spay/neuter is provided to Paws New England.   We can provide a list of low costs SN clinics to adopters when requested. ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You will be required to attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are experienced dog owners and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy so if you experience behavior issues you have a point of contact.  PLEASE - Think long and hard before adopting a puppy - consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with - he cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours at a time until he's older, puppy proofing your home will be necessary, puppies scratch and nip so if you have small children, can they handle this?? Training will be so important in this puppy's life, do you have the time??Please consider purchasing this book before adopting.  Perfect Puppy in 7 Days - How to Start Your Puppy Off Right, Sophia Yin, DVM - it is an amazing book that we recommend very highly and have had amazing feedback on.https://www.amazon.com/Perfect-Puppy-Days-Start-Right/dp/0964151871IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.IMPORTANT INFORMATIONPaws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England. Story
To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application  HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see  HERE Age: About 3 1/2 months as of April 4, 2024 Weight: About 12 pounds as of April 4, 2024 This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Say hello to Brownie, who is part of the Hershey litter, so named because they are so sweet! These adorable Australian Shepherd mixes were an unplanned litter and are now looking for great families to love and be loved by. Brownie lives with five people and five other animals in addition to his litter mates. He is sometimes a bit nervous around the household dogs but is playful and respects corrections. He is hesitant to engage with new dogs but eventually becomes playful. Brownie likes to chase cats and small animals, so he would do best in a home without them. He does well with the 11-year-olds and adults (men and women) in the household, engaging in play but respecting any corrections. While he is a bit nervous when meeting new adults, he warms up and likes to play with them. Brownie is a bit of a homebody and is timid in new situations and anxious in the car. His favorite things are chew toys, cuddling, lap time. and playing bitey-mouth with his siblings. House and crate training are in progress. Like all dogs, Brownie will benefit from training to help him understand who’s in charge and how to be a good citizen. Training strengthens the human/canine bond and makes a dog easier to live with. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see  HERE  for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/ **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor. April 19, 2024, 12:57 pm
