Story
To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application        HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see        HERE Age: 4 years Weight:  64 pounds    This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Pumpkin Spice Latte (Pumpkin for short) is a very sweet 4 year old female Aussiedoodle who has absolutely no idea she isn’t the size of a chihuahua. She is a big girl who will joyfully climb into your lap for a hug. Unfortunately, her family has experienced some major changes--a divorce and a new baby--aand she was reluctantly surrendered. Pumpkin has been living outdoors in a kennel for the past year, but she was recently been brought back into the house, where she is thriving. Pumpkin loves kids and cats, but she is very selective around other dogs, so it will probably be best for her to be an only dog. After she had puppies, she became food aggressive around other dogs. However, she tolerates eating around the children well, although she does enjoy cleaning up after the toddler. She is currently living in a very active foster home, with men, women, children, and multiple daily visitors.  Pumpkin is housebroken and kennel/crate-trained. She walks calmly, typically with a loose leash, and she knows basic commands (sit, paw, kennel, come, down). Her only behavior issue is that she will sometimes chew on things that are not safe like children’s toys. She enjoys chewing on her own chew toys and can be redirected from inappropriate chewing. She has regularly been left alone in her kennel for eight hours with no problems There is nothing Pumpkin enjoys more than running and playing--and she is a big fan of squeaky toys! This is a lovely dog who is eager to please her people, and she should adapt very well to most living situations. The attached photos show her both before and after being groomed. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see      HERE      for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:    www.sosarl.org/aa/ *  *Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor. December 8, 2023, 10:00 pm

Story
Tito is a sweet boy. He is loving and great to take on walks . He is crate trained and e collar trained. We have a busy family . We have 5 kids and three dogs and two cats. He is never aggressive to the people or animals in my family. He has difficulty with new people coming into the yard or a lot of people around. He will nip at them and try to herd them. This is a problem for our family because we always have a lot of people around and neighborhood kids in and out of my house. My kids are young and he is not always being watched in the yard. I am fearful he will hurt someone. He would benefit from a fenced in yard.

Story
💕 HALLIE 🎀 Mama Hallie is the sweetest, most affectionate girl. Now that her puppies have found their homes, it’s her turn! Hallie and her sister, Annie, were pulled from the euthanasia list at a local shelter in June. A week after they were pulled, we realized Hallie was expecting! She was the sweetest mama 🫶 Hallie is about 60lbs and about 2-3 years old. She loves going for walks, chasing squirrels in the backyard, and curling up on a bed by her foster mom’s desk. She plays wonderfully with the six other dogs in her foster home. She’s sweet, loving, and so affectionate 🥰

Adoption Donation  $ 599   Located: CT (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details ) Age: 2 years old     Tuff is a Mini 30 pound Aussie foster said he is a big baby, he lived outside for the last 4 months. He is great with little dogs but is scared of her big dogs. Said he is super sweet!     If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website   www.fohari.org and email my foster parent for more information:    barnhag@gmail.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.         Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt. If you feel comfortable that the animal is a good fit for your home, at this point, you would submit a sum of $200 as a partial payment of the adoption fee as we process your application. From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit. If you are not approved to adopt, any payment sent to us would be promptly returned in full. At this point, we will remove the animal from our adoption sites and hold the animal for you while we check your references. If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc.
