Story
Our apartment complex is no longer allowing us keep our dog Alfie due to a neighbor complaint. We are stuck in our lease until October so we are attempting to find him a foster situation or temporary home until we can move out and get Alfie back. We are also comfortable with him finding his forever home as we do not him to have to move around over and over again. He’s such a sweet soul and will love you every second of the day. Very puppy energy and gets excited loves kisses and pets. He is great with our almost 2 year old and crate trained. He is getting better at not tugging on the leash. Something we have been working on. We rescued him from an abuse situation from a friend and he still can cower if you tell him no or course correct.

Story
Est dob: 1/22/2019 Drax is a calm, friendly, affectionate, and very easy going guy. He’s about 4 years old and is an Australian Shepard mix. He is in a home with other dogs and has been with teenage kids as well. Drax is house broken, but always expect an adjustment when any pet enters a new environment. Unfortunately, Drax was fed way too much by his previous owners and has become a little overweight. He currently weighs in at 160 lbs which is way too much for him! He is on a vet supervised caloric diet which he has done very well with and has already started to lose some of those extra pounds! He is becoming more energetic as 4 year old dog should be, by playing more with his current foster's dog and toys. He would be a great addition to a family wanting to help him on his journey with starting off with slow short walks as he works towards his goals. Drax is in a foster home with other dogs and adults that he does well with.  Please consider making this handsome boy a member of your family. As we are a foster based rescue, we do require a completed application to be submitted before we arrange a meet.  This can be found on our website at :  https://almosthomepetrescue.org/apply-now-1  $200 (including tax) adoption fee includes core vaccinations, rabies vaccination, heart worm test (in dogs over 6 months of age), microchip and registration, spay/neuter, wormer and flea and heart worm prevention while the dog is in our care. All breed and size categorizations are estimates.  If transporting out of state, the total adoption cost will be $500. This amount is inclusive of adoption fee, transport fee, health certificate, and taxes.April 20, 2024, 9:58 am

Story
Max is a friendly social butterfly who likes humans, dogs, and cats. His finder kept him for two weeks and said he is easygoing and friendly with other dogs. He wants to play with dogs he meets during walks and behaves well at the dog park. He is easygoing with cats. He was around a 12-year-old and was easygoing, friendly, playful and cautious. He weighs 31 pounds and is moderately active. He likes agility, car rides, fetch, toys, walks, water and chasing squirrels. His favorite thing to do is run. He knows the sit command. He likes to lead while on a leash. If he runs away while off leash, he'll come back if you call him. He is used to being crated several hours a day but he doesn't like it. He'll escape at the first opportunity. He is crate trained but still working on house training so please be patient. He is affectionate and loves to be petted. He's a chewer so he'll need some sturdy chew toys. He is curious, tolerant, gentle, obedient, and excitable. Please offer lovable Max the home and family he deserves. (tw 3/31/2024)
