Story
Meet Hermione! She's a precious girl, full of her own unique spunk and curiosity! She loves to leap, frolic, and play, full of puppy spirit. Her lanky legs, floppy ears and expressive eyes make her an especially quirky character to behold. She loves playing tug-o-war, wrestling and cuddling with other pups, but entertains herself just as well. We are working on potty training, and walking on a leash with good progress. Whether she is snuggling up next to you on the couch, or bounding through the yard, this girl is sure to bring joy to your heart.

Story
Meet Ross!Ross’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. Back in 2018, he and his littermates were found abandoned in a trashcan as tiny puppies. Luckily, they were rescued and given the chance to grow up surrounded by love. For years, Ross enjoyed the good life—long walks, couch snuggles, and endless belly rubs. But after seven years and life changes, his world turned upside down. When his family could no longer keep him (due to accidentally knocking over grandkids), Ross found himself back with us.When he first arrived at his foster home in early August, Ross was petrified and shut down. But with patience, gentle hands, and a calm environment, Ross began to realize he was safe again. Now, this sweet 7-year-old shepherd mix is showing his true colors:✨ He melts for belly rubs.✨ He leans in for gentle kisses.✨ He loves quiet affection and the simple comfort of being near his people.✨ LOVES walks ✨ Cannot get enough of his squeaky toysWith the help of daily medications and time to decompress, Ross has blossomed into a loving, loyal companion. He’s ready for a fresh start in a home where he can feel safe, understood, and adored.Could you be Ross’s second chance? To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.https://longwayhome.org/apply ❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. As long as they need rescue, that's what is most important to us.

Story
Meet Charlie – Your New Best Friend! 🐾 The phrase “man’s best friend” was practically created with Charlie in mind. This handsome Australian Shepherd is being surrendered through no fault of his own and is now searching for a foster or forever family to love him as much as he loves his people. Charlie is a sweet, cuddly, and motivated boy who truly aims to please. A classic Aussie at heart, he loves to chase anything you let him—especially a ball! Spend a little time throwing one around outside and you’ll instantly become his biggest fan. 🎾 He is an extremely loyal pup who bonds quickly and wants to be right by your side, whether you’re heading out on an adventure or just moving from room to room at home. Charlie thrives on being included and wants to go everywhere you go. Charlie likes to be the boss, so he does best in a home with dogs who aren’t interested in being his alpha. He is gentle with kiddos and would fit in beautifully with a family of any size. Highly treat-motivated and eager to learn, Charlie truly just wants to be included in everything you do. 🩷 If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, and loving companion, Charlie is your guy.
