Story
Meet Ross!Ross’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. Back in 2018, he and his littermates were found abandoned in a trashcan as tiny puppies. Luckily, they were rescued and given the chance to grow up surrounded by love. For years, Ross enjoyed the good life—long walks, couch snuggles, and endless belly rubs. But after seven years and life changes, his world turned upside down. When his family could no longer keep him (due to accidentally knocking over grandkids), Ross found himself back with us.When he first arrived at his foster home in early August, Ross was petrified and shut down. But with patience, gentle hands, and a calm environment, Ross began to realize he was safe again. Now, this sweet 7-year-old shepherd mix is showing his true colors:✨ He melts for belly rubs.✨ He leans in for gentle kisses.✨ He loves quiet affection and the simple comfort of being near his people.✨ LOVES walks ✨ Cannot get enough of his squeaky toysWith the help of daily medications and time to decompress, Ross has blossomed into a loving, loyal companion. He’s ready for a fresh start in a home where he can feel safe, understood, and adored.Could you be Ross’s second chance?***Ross is currently on daily anti-anxiety medications while he is learning to trust again. We are hopeful that one day these can be reduced or even discontinued, but for now they are a necessary part of his healing journey from the trauma caused by humans.***To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.https://longwayhome.org/apply ❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. As long as they need rescue, that's what is most important to us.

Story
🌿🐾 Meet Willow Sage 🐾🌿 Hi, I’m Willow Sage—your future adventure buddy with a heart full of love and legs made for running! I’m a pretty independent girl, but don’t let that fool you… I love attention, playtime, and being part of the fun. I get along great with other dogs, adore kids, and even think chasing and playing with kitties is the best game ever. I’ve got tons of energy and my favorite things include my herding ball, running around, and tagging along on outings to places like Atwood’s and Home Depot. I walk nicely on a leash and enjoy seeing the world with my people. I’m crate trained, house trained when supervised, and I’ll happily use puppy pads too. I’ve had basic obedience training—just give me a little refresher and I’ll be right back on track (especially if treats are involved… I’m very treat-motivated 😉). When summer rolls around, you’ll find me splashing in my kiddie pool, soaking up the sunshine, and living my best life. I’m full of love, always ready to give kisses, cuddles, and endless affection to the people lucky enough to call me theirs. 💚 Interested in adopting or fostering Willow Sage? Apply today at www.cactusranchrescue.com and come meet this sweet, energetic girl who’s ready to find her forever (or foster) home! 🏡💖
