Story
What could be more sumptuous than our very own BLT? Nothing! Our 4-month-old Aussie and Husky mix puppies are named Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato. Bacon and Tomato are boys who weigh 18-20 pounds, while our little girl Lettuce weighs 18 pounds. They should all mature to around 55 pounds. These pups enjoy having fun in the sun and romping around with their toys. They all have long and luxurious coats that will need regular brushing and grooming. Bacon is black and grey merle with white; Lettuce is brown, grey, black merle with white; and Tomato is black and brown with white and has the cutest stripe between his eyes. These siblings enjoy being around people and other dogs. They would love to play their way into your heart! (ME, 2/15/24) ‍**It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $395 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.  March 4, 2024, 7:45 am

Meet Winston, a 6-year-old Australian Shepherd mix who is known for his friendly demeanor towards other dogs. His ability to bond and interact positively with other dogs is a testament to his social nature! Winston has reached his mature weight of 45-50 pounds and wears a long coat of chocolate and white. Winston deserves a loving home where he can continue to thrive and bring joy to those around him! He loves to be around people and play ball. He does not like cats though and that’s okay! Will you give Winston his forever home? Story
Meet Oakley, a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd mix who enjoys being around people, other dogs, and cats. Oakley was surrendered by his owners who could no longer care for him and his brother. He weighs 84 pounds now but could use a diet to get back in healthy shape! He wears a long, tri colored coat that will need brushing and grooming frequently. Oakley is great on a leash and enjoys going for walks! He can be shy at first but warms up quickly. He would make a great addition to your family. Story
Meet Portia, the wild child with a heart full of love! Hey there, future family! I'm Portia, and I'm ready to bring a whole lot of energy, cuteness, and joy into your life. Picture this: a little ball of fur with a heart so big it could burst, and that's me! I'm the kind of pup who's always on the go, ready for an adventure at a moment's notice. I've got boundless energy and a spirit that's as wild as can be. The world is my playground, and I'm here to make every moment count! Now, let's talk about my favorite things: love and treats! Oh, how I adore being showered with affection. Pet me, and you'll see my happy cries - that's just my way of saying, "I love this so much!" And when it comes to food, I'm not picky at all. Kibble, treats, you name it - I'm in! I recently had the chance to join playgroup with some pals like Maddie, Janis, and Jerry. It only took a few minutes, and I was running and jumping around, having the time of my life! My attention span might be short, but my capacity for fun is endless. Speaking of training, I've got some skills up my paw - sit, stay, down, leave it - you name it, I've got it covered. But here's the thing: I might need a bit more focus and training, so a patient and loving home would be just perfect for me. I'm a goofy little thing, always ready to bring a smile to your face. But here's the deal: I'm protective of my person. A single-person home without younger children would be my dream, and I'd need to be put away when guests come over. It's just my way of making sure my human is safe and sound. If you're looking for a bundle of energy, love, and endless laughter, then I'm your girl. Let's make memories together - adopt me, and let the adventures begin!

Story
Meet the Muppets, Animal! This litter is 8 weeks old, and we think they look like Bernese Mountain dog/Aussie Shepherd mixes. These sweet puppies are typical puppies who loves to explore and really enjoys being outside. They are great with other dogs and young enough to learn about cats. Baby puppies will require an adopter who is at home a good portion of the day to continue training - no exceptions! The primary adopter must be the adult home in the day to train and care for the puppy. This puppy is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped and will need to be spayed at the age of 6 months. The Adoption Fee for this puppy $500.00. A refundable spay/neuter deposit will be added to the adoption fee for puppies and kittens. ***Please note, this pup's immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age and therefore, s/he is not suited for Apartment/Condo living or Town homes without a private fenced yard and will not be able to go to public places where s/he could possibly be exposed to the germs of unvaccinated dogs, such as PetSmart/PetCo and dog parks until s/he is 16 weeks old*** ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** The adoption fee for this dog is $500, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE spay/neuter if the pup is not already spayed/neutered. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. A $100.00 fee will be returned to the adopter once the animal has been sterilized. We will provide information on this process during the approval process. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs and/or all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

Story
Harley landed in a shelter in southern Virginia with his mom, Hartley.  He is now in a wonderful foster home. He is awesome with the older dogs in his foster home and loves to play with them. He loves to sit in your lap and give kisses--he will happily fall asleep there. He is learning about the crate and has not discovered how fun toys are, yet. He does great in the car and would do well goingon on family trips. As you can see in his video, he really enjoys bones and chewies. He also loves to pick up sticks from the yard. In general he is a playful, goofy, friendly, lovable guy who is ready for a forever home of his own.Accuracy is not guaranteed; however, information provided is accurate to the best of our knowledge.  For more information on the pet, please send an email to info@aforeverhome.org March 2, 2024, 11:58 am
