Story
Iris has no business being as sweet as he always is. With his piercing blue eyes, it won’t take long before Iris charms you into falling for him. He is young, affectionate, and loves to cuddle. Iris and his siblings were found abandoned on a property in the middle of nowhere. Starved and shot through the leg, Iris was understandably petrified of humans. When he finally made his way to Little Victories, we took away his pain and hunger, and we started to see his true personality shine. Iris is silly, sweet, and has a playful side just waiting to come out. He is timid with new people and new environments, but after a slow introduction, Iris will fall for you as hard as you do him. The best kind of home for Iris: Iris is seeking a forever place to grow and become the best version of himself. There could be some arthritis in his future, but for now, Iris is healthy as ever and ready to start his life of comfort. He has excellent mobility on three legs and will have no trouble navigating his future home. He previously lived with several other dogs and cats, but we do not know how he would be around small children.

Story
Reed is the total package: friendly, playful, and full of love. He’s the kind of dog who greets everyone like an old friend and isn’t shy about handing out hugs. Reed loves chasing after a ball (future fetch champion alert!), going for walks, and soaking up affection. He’s also housetrained, pretty good on a leash, and great with kids. With his striking eyes and irresistible charm, it won’t take long for him to steal your heart. The best kind of home for Reed: Reed is an easygoing, social dog who has done well with other dogs and cats in the past. He would love a family that will include him in daily activities and give him plenty of opportunities to play and bond. After being rescued from an abandoned home, Reed is ready for a new beginning and a home where he will be safe, loved, and treated like part of the family.

Story
Dayton has his second birthday coming up soon (DOB 5/15/2023) and ALL he wants for his birthday is his furever home. Dayton is a mini Australian shepherd who weighs in at 28 pounds. Dayton came to ASF from a puppy mill. He is a sweet, busy, energetic boy. He wants to know what’s going on in his world at all times. He loves people, and doesn't know a stranger. On walks, (he absolutely LOVES walks and will tremble with excitement and anticipation while waiting to get his harness on) he will “beg” people he meets to pet him. (And he has the SOFTEST fur ever!!) He also LOVES the kids he has met on his walks, belly crawling up to them and rolling over for belly rubs. And giving soft, sweet kisses as a thank you. He also rides very well in a car so you can easily take him places to walk. Dayton’s ideal home would have another, friendly, young, playful dog to run with and help burn off some of his boundless energy. His new home needs a physical fenced yard as he is still working on his recall (no electric fences for this boy). He would do best with someone who is home with him often to let him out to potty. Dayton can be vocal at times, so an apartment or townhome sharing walls with others would not be a good fit. A home with no cats (or other small animals) is a must. Although he is not aggressive with cats, he obsesses on them… will stare at them and bark at them tirelessly. He focuses on them so intently, that he doesn’t see or hear anything else, including his human. Dayton is housebroken but will need to be taken out on a regular schedule to keep him from having accidents in the house. He is also crate trained and will sleep in it quietly through the night. Dayton is UTD on his vaccines, is microchipped, and on HW and flea prevention. Dayton was born with his lower jaw shorter than his upper jaw. This doesn’t seem to cause him any issues, one of his favorite things is to chew on a bone. If you think Dayton is the perfect pup for you, please fill out an application at https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application. There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to her new furever family. Dayton is currently located in Jackson, OH.

Story
HUGE CUDDLE BUG ALERT!!! Meet Koda (fka Fortune). This, oh so handsome boy, is an approximately 3 ½ year old Aussie/Great Pyr mix looking for a family who loves walks, playtime, and cuddling as much as he does! He is a big teddy bear when it comes to getting lovins. Ear rubbings are his absolute favorite. (Oh, and lying down beside you, or better yet, ON you, to get those ears rubbed.) Next to cuddles, his second most favorite thing is playing. He thrives on playtime, and would rather drool on stuffies than tear them apart. He loves other dogs and would love to have a friendly, playful doggy brother or sister to play with, or at the least, a neighborhood dog to have frequent play dates with. Koda is good with older children but has not been around young children and because of his large size, younger children are not recommended. (He is not the biggest fan of cats though, so no cats in his fever home.) He also enjoys playing in water (and mud. LOL) Koda is very intelligent, able to meet your requests of sit, shake, come, and free when he knows you have a real beef jerky treat. He will use a classic “Pyr Paw” to get your attention, and then stuff his face into your lap for the good ear scratches. He loves car rides and does well while in the car. Koda is big and brave, and doesn’t always know his own size, and can have an occasional klutzy moment. He enjoys watching the yard out the window, running free in large fenced area, and sniffing *everything* on long walks. Koda is a true guardian breed, barking at anything he considers a threat to his flock - especially loud trucks, motorcycles, and diesel engines. He instinctively will also bark at anything he sees running - other dogs, people, critters and kids - it is in his breeding to be concerned about others moving too fast. Due to his guardian nature, he would do well to have a confident owner who he can look up to, rather than protect. He becomes worried when he thinks it’s his job to take care of you. If his flock leaves the nest his big brown eyes will plead “You don’t need to go to work! Stay with me!” He will patiently wait for you to come home so he knows you're safe (and so you can play.) True to a Pyr’s nature, he wants to explore (he was originally found as a stray) and will chase cars if given the opportunity - so a solid fence surrounding plenty of running space is a must! (No electric fences for this boy.) And for his safety, he must be leashed at all times if outside an enclosed area. Koda is UTD on his vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and on HW and flea prevention and weighs about 80# (A lot of that is fur! And he could stand to lose a few pounds.) He is housebroken, crate trained, and leash trained. If you think Koda is the perfect pup for you, please fill out an application at https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application. There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to her new furever family. Koda is currently located in Jackson, OH.
