Story
Buck is an adorable 4-month old male Australian Shepherd/Husky mix puppy who was brought to the HSOV on February 11, 2026 along with his four siblings (Foxy, Groundhog, Kitty, and Raccoon) after they were found they were found on Straight Run Road in the Lowell Ohio area fending for themselves. Buck has a tan-and-white medium-haired coat, a long tail, and a cute puppy face with dark brown eyes, large white eyebrows, and a slender muzzle. Buck holds his left ear erect and holds his right ear 'relaxed/floppy'. Buck weighed 23 lbs when he entered our shelter on February 11th. Buck and his brothers/sisters are full of playful puppy energy and are all about fun-and-games. Buck and his siblings will be spayed/neutered before being officially adopted. They could be fostered-to-adopt while they are awaiting those procedures with an approved HSOV foster/adoption application. Update: Buck went home with a foster family on March 15, 2026 who plans to adopt him after he is neutered. Buck was returned by his foster family on March 24, 2026 (through no fault of his own) since they felt he wasn't a good fit because of the demands of their job/employment duties ... So another lucky individual or family will have the opportunity to foster-to-adopt this awesome youngster Buck~

Story
Statler is a handsome male Australian Shepherd/Husky mix puppy who was born on September 22, 2025 when his mother (Sheba) gave birth to Statler and his eight siblings while Sheba was in foster care. This sweet boy has a black medium-haired coat with a large patch of white on his chest/belly, white paws, a white tip on the end of his long tail, and an adorable face with hopeful innocent eyes, a black button nose, a slender muzzle, and short floppy ears. Statler has a sweet, playful personality and loves to romp/play puppy games with his siblings. These pictures of Statler were taken on December 8th 2025. Statler was quite the charmer during his photo session and was a pushover for 'good boy' treats while he enjoyed attention from HSOV Kennel Tech Emma Dahlgren and her colleagues. Statler will be neutered before being adopted by his new family. He could be fostered-to-adopt while he is awaiting his neuter procedure. Please complete an HSOV foster/adoption application and submit for approval if you would like to give this little sweetheart a fabulous home.

Story
HUGE CUDDLE BUG ALERT!!! Meet Koda (fka Fortune). This, oh so handsome boy, is an approximately 3 ½ year old Aussie/Great Pyr mix looking for a family who loves walks, playtime, and cuddling as much as he does! He is a big teddy bear when it comes to getting lovins. Ear rubbings are his absolute favorite. (Oh, and lying down beside you, or better yet, ON you, to get those ears rubbed.) Next to cuddles, his second most favorite thing is playing. He thrives on playtime, and would rather drool on stuffies than tear them apart. He loves other dogs and would love to have a friendly, playful doggy brother or sister to play with, or at the least, a neighborhood dog to have frequent play dates with. Koda is good with older children but has not been around young children and because of his large size, younger children are not recommended. (He is not the biggest fan of cats though, so no cats in his fever home.) He also enjoys playing in water (and mud. LOL) Koda is very intelligent, able to meet your requests of sit, shake, come, and free when he knows you have a real beef jerky treat. He will use a classic “Pyr Paw” to get your attention, and then stuff his face into your lap for the good ear scratches. He loves car rides and does well while in the car. Koda is big and brave, and doesn’t always know his own size, and can have an occasional klutzy moment. He enjoys watching the yard out the window, running free in large fenced area, and sniffing *everything* on long walks. Koda is a true guardian breed, barking at anything he considers a threat to his flock - especially loud trucks, motorcycles, and diesel engines. He instinctively will also bark at anything he sees running - other dogs, people, critters and kids - it is in his breeding to be concerned about others moving too fast. Due to his guardian nature, he would do well to have a confident owner who he can look up to, rather than protect. He becomes worried when he thinks it’s his job to take care of you. If his flock leaves the nest his big brown eyes will plead “You don’t need to go to work! Stay with me!” He will patiently wait for you to come home so he knows you're safe (and so you can play.) True to a Pyr’s nature, he wants to explore (he was originally found as a stray) and will chase cars if given the opportunity - so a solid fence surrounding plenty of running space is a must! (No electric fences for this boy.) And for his safety, he must be leashed at all times if outside an enclosed area. Koda is UTD on his vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and on HW and flea prevention and weighs about 80# (A lot of that is fur! And he could stand to lose a few pounds.) He is housebroken, crate trained, and leash trained. If you think Koda is the perfect pup for you, please fill out an application at https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application. There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to her new furever family. Koda is currently located in Jackson, OH.
