Story
Talk about a rough life. This girl was dealt a terrible hand and used for breeding, and then disposed of. Her emaciated body shows exhaustion and plain defeat, but through that she has also shown that she is willing to trust and forgive. Studio is the definition of determination and she is trying so hard to be brave. This sweet girl would love a home with a small family to spend her time with. She is crate trained, seems to be okay and respectful of cats, but is not a fan of dogs. She is taller than a short English bulldog, but still built like an English. She is gentle, walks on a leash, and deserves a chance.

Story
Jersey girl is a short stout with an outgoing personality. She is so funny. Loves kids and every person she meets. Needing a home with no dogs, she still is involved with pack walks and leash skill classes. Maintaining a good citizen, we believe she has had past trama so extended play with dogs gets her stressed and that is why we have required no dog home. Sadly that is why she sits in our facility so long. We really would love to see this amazing girl get the family she deserves.

Story
Meet Momo! He is guessed to be a little right around 2 years old and weighs 62 lbs. He is the sweetest, goofiest little beefcake around. He loves people and loves other dogs and even cats. He gets along with kids, too, but due to his age and stature we would recommend he only go with older kids. Momo has hind end weakness and is also completely incontinent (both bowel and bladder). He will need a very special home that will be able to manage and accept these issues- as they will not improve and will be lifelong. He currently wears belly bands and diapers and we express his bladder several times a day to help keep him dry. We suspect he has spina bifida, but the radiologist said his xrays appeared normal. Momo's adoption donation of $450 helps cover the cost of his medical care. Adopters must live within a 1 hour driving distance from Romeoville, IL. Reference checks, vet checks, and home visits required. We do not do same-day adoptions. Email us with any questions info@perfectpooches.org. The application to adopt can be found under the "Adoption Process" tab on our website www.perfectpooches.org.

Story
Bullseye is a fun loving 2 year old boxer/bulldog mix who enjoys walks, cuddles, people of all shapes and sizes and most importantly butt scratches. He was found in a parking lot without a collar. He responds to come, chill out, stop and no but doesn't seem to remember sit. He is not a fan of table food like hot dogs, bread, or peanut butter. He puts his nose to it and doesn't want it. He is hesitant of treats but does go back for them eventually. He jumps but is very light about it, almost like a heavy cat. He distributes his weight well. He leaves food that is left out alone He is very well behaved on a leash. He does not pull and has a loose leash. He likes you to walk with him in the yard to do his business but will eventually go on his own with encouragement. He is house broken. He is okay on car rides except the front seat. He does not like it up there. He does not enjoy being alone and will run when you try to get him in his crate. He does NOT like the crate. I put a big blanket over it and he will settle after about 5 minutes. He is curious about cats. He doesn't lunge but gets up quickly and they may get scared. His temperament towards them makes me believe he was raised around them. He rubs on you like a cat would and likes to sit on the top back of the couch. He isn't fond of larger dogs and ignores them unless they approach while around his current person. He seems a bit territorial. He is NOT aggressive at all with food. You can feed him by hand or take his bowl while eating and is gentle with both. You can pet him while he eats. He is the perfect companion alpha dog. He does bark at new people but doesn't lunge or get aggressive. More like an alert, I don't recognize you. He will do best in a home without competing larger dogs. He loves his humans. He is a great little buddy. If you would like to meet this dog, please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $275. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming

Story
Please give a warm welcome to Billie Jean 💕 This young lady found herself picked up as a stray, waiting and wondering if anyone would come looking for her. Sadly, no one did. Their loss, clearly. Meanwhile, one of our incredible fosters had just sent their last foster dog off to their forever home and discovered something deeply unsettling… a suspicious amount of peace and quiet. 😅 Instead of enjoying clean floors, uninterrupted snacks, and the absence of random zoomies, they did what rescue people do best: made emotionally questionable decisions and stepped right back up. And honestly? Perfect timing. So now Billie Jean gets the soft landing she deserves, a warm bed, and humans who already said “the house is too quiet” (which, frankly, is how you know they’re one of us).

Story
Tater is a wonderful dog. He is very loving and loves attention. He gets a long with other animals but needs time to warm up. I take him to the dog park where he does well socially with most other dogs. It would be best if the household he goes to does not have other dogs as he is territorial. He does well at dog parks. He loves to play, but most days he is a couch potato.I have 2 cats that he gets along with. He enjoys playing with them. He is best with bigger kids ages 10+. He has not been around little children and will try to play and does not know his own strength. He is hard of hearing, but understands hand commands and is house broken. He will be 4yrs old September 10th. Overall, he is a fantastic dog!My busy schedule and travel are making it difficult to give him the love and attention he deserves. He is a very loving and sweet boy. As I mentioned, he loves to cuddle. I do allow him on the couch, but not the bed. He will take it over trying to cuddle with you.
