Story
MEET DIAMOND When Diamond came into rescue, she was skin and bones, heartworm-positive, swollen, and utterly exhausted — but despite everything, she still wanted love.   Today, she’s shining bright and discovering what love truly feels like — thanks to an incredible foster who stepped up when she needed it most! Diamond is a stunning bulldog mix who’s overcome so much and still manages to be sweet, silly, and endlessly cuddly. She adores her people and just wants to be someone’s one and only. She will do best as an only dog (or with very patient pup friends) while she keeps learning that love doesn’t disappear — and that forever really means forever. Housebroken & crate trained Sweet, goofy, and totally lovable Great at the vet Loves to cuddle and be close Best as an only pet, so she can soak up all the love Altered, UTD on vaccines, microchipped Available for adoption in December Her adoption fee is covered by a private donor! Story
🌹 Meet Rosie! 🌹 Rosie is a big, lovable bulldog with an even bigger personality. She’s playful, goofy, and full of character—especially when treats are involved! Rosie sits so politely for snacks, loves entertaining herself with toys, and is happiest when she can keep a toy in her mouth while campaigning for pets and belly rubs (why choose?!). Recently, Rosie took a field trip with her volunteer pal Leah and had the best day out and about! She rode like a total pro in the car—quietly sitting, napping, and gazing out the windows like a seasoned co-pilot. On walks, she showed off lovely loose-leash manners and did great in the city, staying relaxed around passing cars and happily greeting new people with her gentle, upbeat energy. She’s been curious about other dogs from a distance but hasn’t had close meet-and-greets yet. In the home, Rosie has been impressively well-mannered—unfazed by the vacuum, not interested in counter surfing, and happy to stick to her toys. She’s also wonderfully easy to handle: calm in a harness, comfortable with paw handling, and generally loves being touched and cuddled. True to her breed, Rosie is brachycephalic, so she’s looking for an adopter who understands her special needs and is committed to keeping her comfortable, safe, and cool. With the right care, Rosie absolutely thrives—and she brings a lot of joy with her. We are still learning about Rosie with other animals, and at this time she is looking to be the only dog in her home—she was born to be the center of attention! Because of her size and enthusiasm, Rosie may do best with older kids who can match her energy and respect her space. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate companion who will light up every room (and maybe sploot or snooze belly-up with legs in the air), Rosie might be your perfect match.

Story
🎉 Meet Al! The Ultimate Playmate! 🐾 Get ready to zoom! Al is a striking, 65 lb Bully mix boy (DOB: 09/04/24) who brings a massive dose of fun and snuggles everywhere he goes. 💖 All About the Love If you are looking for an affectionate dog, look no further! Al is an absolute love bug who is incredibly affectionate with everyone. Seriously, all people—including kids—are his best friends! He is neutered, fully current on all his medical needs (vaccines, heartworm, and flea prevention), and microchipped for life. He's also a smart cookie: he is crate trained, house broken and knows some basic commands already! 🤸 Ready, Set, GO! This handsome hunk is a firecracker! Al has high energy, so forget lazy afternoons—he MUST have vigorous daily exercise to burn off steam and be his happiest, most balanced self. He’s looking for an active family ready for adventures. Because of his need to run and play safely, a securely fenced yard is required. A quick word on little ones: While he adores children, his enthusiasm and size can sometimes be "too much" for the smallest kids; he could accidentally knock a tiny human over during playtime. A home with older, sturdy children would be the best fit! 🐈 Critter Connections He's been good with cats, but watch out—he's a bit of a goofball and tends to "harass" them (in a playful way, of course!). Tolerant felines are a must, or maybe just a cat-free zone. Al is ready to be your shadow, your running buddy, and your ultimate couch potato after a good long walk. Are you ready for his all-star energy? If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/forms PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our rescue pets are fostered in Southern foster homes (unless otherwise stated) and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!
