Story
(DOB 05/02/2025) Scout is an adorable pup with the best eyebrows in town—and now, an academic superstar to match! He’s a bundle of energy, curiosity, and pure joy. With his striking black muzzle and expressive brows, Scout is as charming as he is fun-loving. This sweet boy recently went to “school,” where he earned top honors for his academic prowess—proof that he’s not just a cutie, but a very smart cookie too! To help him continue shining in his new home, his trainers are generously offering (2) one-hour training sessions with his adopters, setting everyone up for long-term success. Scout absolutely loves being with his people. He enjoys humans of all ages, though his enthusiasm may be a bit much for very small children. Whether he’s playing with toys or chewing on a bone, Scout likes to stay close to his family—often draped across your legs, soaking up the connection. He’s happiest when he’s part of the household…fun, engaged, and near those he loves. On sunny days, you’ll find him lounging by the storm door, basking in the light and watching the world go by. And if there’s water involved? Even better. Scout is a total water baby—if there’s a pool nearby, you can bet he’ll be in it, living his best life. He’s also a regular at doggie daycare and absolutely loves it, making friends and burning off energy with his favorite pals. Scout enjoys playing with other dogs but could also be happy as an only dog, as long as he has opportunities to socialize and play. He’s a confident pup whose play style is rough-and-tumble, so if there’s another dog in the home, he’d do best with a friendly, confident companion who can match his energy. On walks, his curiosity shines. He loves watching neighborhood dogs and even the horses, sometimes sitting right down in the street to observe his surroundings. One of his horse friends will even come to the fence so they can politely touch noses! Scout is crate trained, housebroken, and able to hold it overnight. Like any young, curious dog, he can be a bit mischievous, so supervision outside the crate is helpful. He walks nicely on a leash with his harness, though he may get excited when spotting people or other animals. A fenced yard would be ideal for burning off energy, but it’s not a requirement if his family can provide plenty of activity, playtime, dog friends, daycare, or similar outlets. This lovable boy rides wonderfully in the car and is always ready for an adventure. He’ll thrive with a family that provides structure, patience, and consistency as he continues polishing his manners. Someone home a good portion of the day would be ideal—long hours in a crate waiting for his people would be tough at his age. Scout is ready to find his forever family—a place where he can play hard, learn more, swim often, snuggle deeply, and soak up all the love he deserves. Could that be with you?  As part of Scout's $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet pup, you can email: Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. If you wish to adopt Scout, you can complete an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website: www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2570349##

Story
(08/05/2012) If you are looking for a well-mannered paw-fect senior pair, these two are truly a daily gift. Meet Sandy and Shadow! They remind me daily to enjoy the life I have been given and to do it with them This potty-trained duo are mature, loveble, intelligent, and happy friends who have lived together for years. They are ready to devote their best years to a fantastic family! Whether yal are retired, have children over 8 years old or work full time Shadow & Sandy are the right for anyone interested in sharing their daily life with this special canine pair. They do love children!  Sandy, the taller of the two woman’s and /or man’s best friends, appears to be about 7-8 yy. Shadow, predominantly a short black and white cutie, is perhaps 10 yy. They are known to be healthy overall, have been fully vetted, enjoy walks under our beautiful NC skies, enjoy a car ride, and know how to use a dog door. They also would say “Yes” to…a fenced yard.   If you seek these pastimes: cuddling, watching pooches twist in delight when booties are scratched, relish in the pleasure of a relaxing afternoon in bed when it is raining or snowing, being the recipient of pooch smooches, and look forward to playing with stuffies, look no further! PS. – If you usually ride shotgun, you may have competition or… a guest on your lap.  As part of Sandy & Shadow's bonded $400 (for both) adoption fee, they arebe spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little girl and boy,  you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Sandy and Shadow, you can fill in an online application for them under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org.   ##1811009##

Story
(DOB 07/16/2021) This girl is "Pretty in "Pink! Want a dog that is "easy to please" then look no further than Leila. She’s a goofy girl FULL of happiness and doesn’t stop smiling. It doesn’t take much to please her. Other than needing a somewhat active lifestyle, there isn't much she isn't happy "just" doing. She enjoys playing with people and finds friends with ease! She enjoys both daily walks, and she is fairly good on a leash but will pull when she sees other people! She loves meeting everyone. She would be happy with a kid in the home that would spend time playing in the yard (fetch and bit of tug-o-war) with her as well. Whatever it is, Leila will roll with it. She's even good with cats!! Leila would love to be your bestie, and she'd probably love being your one and only. She plays w/doggie friends at day camp but can be jealous of toys and such. With that said, she could be a fit for a condo, townhome or apartment as she does not require a fenced in yard with the promise there is plenty of fun time each and every day. Speaking of playtime, Leila loves toys of any kind and finds extra joy in destroying those fluffy filled ones...hee hee! So, other tougher toys are a better bang for the buck! While she does like to cuddle, she’s not super lazy so definitely needs a way to get some energy out. You know what else she loves - CAR RIDES! Yep, that's a fun activity, and Leila is happy to hop in and join you for your daily errands, coffee run, or off to a hike somewhere. She is very social and loves everyone she meets. She attracts strangers with her great smile and happy-go-lucky pep in her step.  She is happy to sleep in her doggie bed or cot and doesn't require being crated - note she is crate trained. She really is a gem of a girl. Don't miss the opportunity to be her lifetime love! As part of Leila's $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Leila, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2131283##

This pup is eligible for our Test the Couch program — a 7-day trial adoption to see if your home (and your couch) is the perfect fit. Learn more  https://pipsrescue.org/test-the-couch/ Meet Hip Hop — or as we lovingly referred to at home as Chestnut & Brownie Boy!   Hip Hop is a sweet, playful teenager with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He’s settled beautifully into his routine in his foster home and is fully potty trained and crate trained — though he’s also doing great with free roam of the house at bed times and when left alone with his foster sibling.    This beautiful boy loves squeaky toys (and takes his squeaker-hunting duties very seriously). He is a big fan of chew toys, treats, and antlers. Give him a good chew while you’re working or cooking dinner, and he’ll happily keep himself busy.   Hip Hop enjoys his walks and outdoor adventures — he’s strong, curious, and full of enthusiasm! He’s still working on his leash manners and pulling, but he’s learning. In the backyard, he’s a total goofball & full of energy. He loves to run, romp, and play tug-of-war with his foster sibling. The two of them can wrestle and chase each other for hours. He would do well in a home with another puppy play mate   Hip Hop He can be a little shy around new people at first, but once he warms up, his silly, affectionate side shines through.   Like any teen, Hip Hop is full of energy and personality and still learning a few polite habits. He can get a bit excited when playing, but he’s eager to please and very trainable as he is very food and treat motivated.   After a busy day, Hip Hop loves nothing more than curling up on the couch for snuggles and TV time — especially if there are animals or Disney movies on! When bedtime rolls around, he likes to be tucked into his blanket. He is also the cutest snorer.    Overall, he is a 10/10 Good boy. ##2261949##

This pup is eligible for our Test the Couch program — a 7-day trial adoption to see if your home (and your couch) is the perfect fit. Learn more  https://pipsrescue.org/test-the-couch/ Meet Melody: Hiker Babe, Ball Chaser, and Queen of Personal Space  Melody is the kind of girl who’ll take you on a power walk, steal your heart, and then your spot on the couch—without even pretending to be sorry. She's got main character energy in all the best ways: up for any adventure, always down to sniff something questionable in the woods, and will absolutely judge you for skipping leg day. Want to go on a hike? She’s already at the door. Want to binge true crime and eat snacks in bed? She’ll be the little spoon (but she’s not sharing the blanket). Sure, she enjoys a good fetch session with a soccer ball like any red-blooded athlete, but she's not obsessed—more like, “I’ll chase it a few times, then you chase it.” Balance, baby. As for other dogs? Melody can tolerate their existence—from a respectful distance. She can pass them on a trail, share a sidewalk, maybe even throw a casual glance their way—but live with one? Absolutely not. She’s not here to share her space, her snacks, or your attention.Think of her as the hot girl at brunch who’s fine with other people being around—as long as they don’t talk to her, touch her mimosa, or sit too close. Melody isn’t mean, she just has standards. Her ideal home: Loves long walks, open trails, and post-adventure snacks Thinks “personal space” is a sacred human-canine agreement Doesn’t take offense to side-eye with a side of sass Has a fenced yard or somewhere she can pretend she’s training for the Fetch Olympics (briefly, then dramatically flop in the grass) Melody is available for adoption or foster (Triangle area for fosters). She’s sweet, spicy, a little bit derpy, and completely unforgettable. Apply at pipsrescue.org. Your slightly feral soulmate awaits. $100 of her adoption fee is being sponsoered by Ricci Law Firm Injury Lawyers, so her adoption fee is $225    ##2261944##
