(08/05/2012) If you are looking for a well-mannered paw-fect senior pair, these two are truly a daily gift. Meet Sandy and Shadow! They remind me daily to enjoy the life I have been given and to do it with them This potty-trained duo are mature, loveble, intelligent, and happy friends who have lived together for years. They are ready to devote their best years to a fantastic family! Whether yal are retired, have children over 8 years old or work full time Shadow & Sandy are the right for anyone interested in sharing their daily life with this special canine pair. They do love children!  Sandy, the taller of the two woman’s and /or man’s best friends, appears to be about 7-8 yy. Shadow, predominantly a short black and white cutie, is perhaps 10 yy. They are known to be healthy overall, have been fully vetted, enjoy walks under our beautiful NC skies, enjoy a car ride, and know how to use a dog door. They also would say “Yes” to…a fenced yard.   If you seek these pastimes: cuddling, watching pooches twist in delight when booties are scratched, relish in the pleasure of a relaxing afternoon in bed when it is raining or snowing, being the recipient of pooch smooches, and look forward to playing with stuffies, look no further! (DOB 07/16/2021) Want a dog that is "easy to please" then look no further than Leila. She’s a goofy girl FULL of happiness and doesn’t stop smiling. It doesn’t take much to please her. Other than needing a somewhat active lifestyle, there isn't much she isn't happy "just" doing. She enjoys playing with people and other dogs and finds friends with ease! She enjoys both daily walks (she often takes a stroll w/one of her favorite pals, Toby) and is good on a leash as well as romp at doggie day care with her 4-legged friends. She would be happy with a kid in the home that would spend time playing in the yard (fetch and bit of tug-o-war) with her as well. Whatever it is, Leila will roll with it. She's even good with cats!! Leila would probably do best with another dog to play with but would roll with being an only dog if she gets enought fun, play time. With that said, she could be a fit for a condo, townhome or apartment as she does not require a fenced in yard with the promise there is plenty of fun time each and every day. Speaking of playtime, Leila loves toys of any kind and finds extra joy in destroying those fluffy filled ones...hee hee! So, other tougher toys are a better bang for the buck! While she does like to cuddle, she’s not super lazy so definitely needs a way to get some energy out. You know what else she loves - CAR RIDES! Yep, that's a fun activity, and Leila is happy to hop in and join you for your daily errands, coffee run, or off to a hike somewhere. She is very social and loves everyone she meets. She attracts strangers with her great smile and happy-go-lucky pep in her step.  She is happy to sleep in her doggie bed or cot and doesn't require being crated - note she is crate trained. She really is a gem of a girl. Don't miss the opportunity to be her lifetime love! Petunia is a super sweet girl who LOVES people and gets along well with dogs of all sizes. She loves to go on short walks and chew on bone while snuggling up to her person. She is very treat motivated and eager to please. She is crate trained and almost completely potty trained. Medical disclaimer: Petunia has a heart murmur and is awaiting a cardiology consultation covered by CFP. She runs and plays as if nothing is wrong and there have not been any obvious episodes of distress which are all good signs.

Clean bill of health from the PIPs Vet!   Meet Pea   Sweet little Pea is a gentle, easygoing girl who thrives with patience, routine, and a calm home. Because she has very limited vision, Pea needs a little time to learn her surroundings and feel secure. Once she does, she settles in beautifully and confidently navigates her world using her excellent nose and ears. You may see her gently boop walls or furniture as she moves around, her own version of mapping out where she is, which is both endearing and impressive.   Pea enjoys exploring the yard, can manage steps with a moment to orient herself, and knows exactly where to go when she needs to potty. She lets you know by heading toward the back door, giving you time to help her get outside.   She is not a big cuddler, but she loves being near her people. Pea will sit close, nap nearby, and happily accept ear and butt scritchies. When you talk to her, her wrinkly, semi nekkid tail wiggles with joy. She greets her foster with happy barks and even a little jump for pets when they come home.   Pea loves her kennel and chooses it as her safe, cozy space for sleeping and meals. She happily goes in when her bowl is ready. One of her most charming quirks is her quiet little grumble or growl, especially around food. Sometimes she will rearrange her bowl just right while softly talking to herself, or simply sit and grumble thoughtfully for no apparent reason.   Because of her limited vision, Pea can startle if another dog sneaks up on her. She may growl or snap to say “hey, I didn’t see you,” but there is no aggression behind it. She would do best as an only dog or with calm, respectful dog friends who understand her needs and give her space.   Pea truly is an easy dog to have. She is gentle, predictable, and quietly affectionate. She is looking for a forever home willing to give her a little time to adjust, appreciate her quirks, and let her continue to blossom. In return, Pea will offer steady companionship, sweet moments, and a whole lot of heart. ##2564793##
