Story
Meet Augie Sled! This 61 lb marshmallow is a one year old English Bulldog and is literally the sweetest thing! Augie loves his humans and wants to be wherever they are. This sweet ball of squish is completely crate and house trained. He will sleep soundly all night in his crate from 10 pm until 8 am. He will sit nicely at the door when he needs out to do his business. He will not scratch or bark but will occasionally whine. He knows how to shake and will show off his skills for a treat! He loves to snuggle on the couch and give his people sloppy kisses! His foster mom is his favorite human! Augie rides well in the car for short trips. Longer trips make him a little nervous. He can jump in just fine but is a little nervous to jump out so he will need some help with this. This boy would gladly take a quick car ride for a pup cup! Augie jumps when he gets excited so he will need continued training to help him to not jump! He loves chew toys … his favorite is a benebone because its indestructible! A home with a fenced in yard would be ideal for Augie so he can run and play and get all his zoomies out! His foster mom takes him on a 1 mile walk 3-4 times a day. A mile is about the maximum this cutie can walk. Augie would do best in a home with a submissive female dog or as the only dog. No male dogs for this guy! Augie did great with his cat test and passed with flying colors. He could easily coexist with a cat in his new home! He would do best with introductions off leash through the fence and then slowly introduced. Because Mr Augie is such a special boy he will need to be placed with a person/family that is familiar with the breed. This boy is not for beginners! Augie will need lots of patience and decompression with his new family. He would do best in a home with kids 12 and up as he doesn’t like to be touched on his head! The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is one of the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone! Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no choice but to euthanize animals for space. We prepare them for adoption by properly vetting and providing individualized care through our incredible behavior program that consists of socialization and leash training for all animals that enter our adoption program prior to matching them with loving families who will treasure them for the rest of their lives. They are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts once adopted, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! Three Little Pitties Rescue will soon be celebrating our 5 year anniversary! Over the course of this time, we have been very fortunate for so much growth, allowing us to further connect with the community and save many lives. Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 10,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be brought into our rescue program. Together, we can be heroes. Story
Hi, I'm Souffle!Do you like other dogs? Due to my prey drive, I should not live with dogs less than 35 pounds. I have been quite forward when meeting other dogs and don't appear to have very polished doggy social skills and that may offend some more refined canine citizens. Don't get me wrong though, I do have a few doggy pals here at the shelter who I like to romp around with! Please bring any dogs in the home with you when you come to meet me to see if we get along. What do you think about cats? I have a high prey drive and would like a home without kitties at this time. So how do you feel about kids? I've been very friendly with staff, and may do well with kids who can handle my zest for life. I can be a bit of a wrecking ball at times, so I would need supervision around younger children. What's your ideal home like? I LOVE being around my people! So a home that has lots of time to spend with me would just be the best! I'd enjoy walkies around the neighborhood, sniffing all the smells, and lounging in a yard to soak up all the sunshine! I'm a strong gal who would like to live with someone who can manage my strength and jumpy behaviors. What is it that staff and volunteers love about you? I've heard that I am just a joy to be around! I'm definitely a staff favorite! ** Here is what a volunteer says about me:"Souffle's entire body wiggles when she's happy and she is so cute with her big head, big happy smile and snorts when she's excited. I always look forward to spending time with her." **Is there anything else we should know about you? I'm estimated to be around 3.5 years old and I weigh about 52 pounds currently. I came into the shelter as a stray and the above information is all recommendations based on my behavior seen at the shelter. I have no known history. Expect to learn more about me after adoption. It is unknown how this animal will do in their new home as all animals can be different with each person. It is important to take this into consideration when thinking about adopting and making sure you are prepared to work with any potential medical or behavior issues that occur after adoption. My adoption fee includes my spay/neuter, current vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, certificate for a free veterinary exam, post-adoption support and more!Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me! If you think we would be a good match come on down and ask to meet me! I'm looking for my forever home and it could be with you!ADOPTION INFORMATION: If you live in the city of Eugene or in Lane County you will be purchasing a dog license in addition to the adoption fee. You will get to choose between a one year, two year, or three year license. This pet is located at Greenhill Humane Society. 88530 Greenhill Road Eugene, OR 97402 (541) 689-1503. I will be out of the "puppy stage" sooner and everyone knows that can be a lot of work3. I have started to work on leash training and potty trainingWhile I'm cheering on all the animals here to find their forever homes, don't pass up us teenage puppies! We have a lot of love and will make amazing companions for years to come! Ask a staff member to meet me today!
