What my friends at OHS say about me:I really enjoy the company of my human friends. If you have a vacant lap, I would be glad to keep it warm!Pucker up! I like to give kisses.I can be worried and anxious in new surroundings. I may take time to adjust to a new environment.I can be picky about my canine companions. Slow introductions and having my own space will be important for me to adjust to a home with resident dogs.Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.I need a home without cats or other small animals. The type of home I'm looking for:It could be with you! Story
Tater Tot is exactly what his name suggests- golden brown, round, hearty, a little lumpy, deeply lovable, and best enjoyed on the couch. He is estimated to be around 7 years old and is every bit the classic bulldog experience rolled into one chunky little package. Low to the ground, low on energy, and highly motivated by snacks, Tater Tot is not looking for adventure. He is looking for comfort, air conditioning, and someone who understands the beauty of a simple life. Rescue rules apply, so no promises on breed or birthday. Go watch Tater Tot on YouTube, then come right back to read more about this snack-seeking couch potato. https://youtu.be/6S8myH-_Bgc Tater Tot is wonderfully uncomplicated with people. He is confident meeting new friends, enjoys attention without demanding it constantly, and handles busy environments with the same energy as a dad walking through Home Depot on a Saturday morning. Calm. Unbothered. Mildly interested in where the treats are located. He is easy to leash, walks at the easiest pace (don’t call it slow), settles quickly, and truly seems happiest just wandering around at his own pace before finding a comfy place to lay down. And honestly? That is pretty much the dream bulldog setup. Now for the important placement note: Tater Tot really needs to be a solo dog. Not because he is aggressive or reactive, but because he is an older bulldog with absolutely zero respect for other dogs’ personal space. His entire social strategy currently revolves around awkward attempts to fast-track the relationship. This could be said a million ways but he is just wildly unconcerned with other dogs’ opinions on personal space. Here are a few- * Tater Tot approaches dog friendships with the confidence of someone who has never heard the word ‘boundaries. * Tater Tot is wildly unconcerned with other dogs’ opinions on personal space. *Tater Tot treats every dog introduction like an awkward speed date nobody agreed to attend. Some dogs tolerate it. Some absolutely will not. Tater Tot himself stays cool and unbothered but simply, it is much easier, happier, and safer to manage his freshy-boy tendencies as the only pet in the home. The good news is he genuinely does not seem to need dog friends to feel fulfilled. Tater Tot feels like a dog who would thrive in a quiet home where the daily agenda includes snacks, naps, short strolls, and rotating all his parts between sunny spots on the floor. He is low energy, easygoing with people, and recovers quickly from stressful situations. He crates well, settles well, and overall gives off “retired uncle with a recliner” energy in the absolute best way. Tater Tot does not need much. Just a comfy home, some understanding of classic bulldog quirks, and someone willing to love a sweet older guy exactly as he is. Ready to welcome Tater Tot home? Story
Hello, I`m Bonnie! I`m about 6 years old and weigh 30 pounds. I have a medical release that staff will discuss with you further.Do you like...Dogs? I have a good history with other dogs. Please bring all dogs in the home to meet to see how we hit it off!Cats? I`ve never lived with kitties before. Slow, supervised introductions would help set us up for success.Kids? I have a good history with gentle kiddos. Please bring all kids in the home to meet.Anything else you`d like us to know, Bonnie? According to my previous owner, I need a bit more guidance on potty training. I have been a very sweet and friendly little lady with my new friends at the shelter!I came into the shelter as a surrender and the above information is all recommendations based on my previous history and the behavior seen at the shelter. Expect to learn more about me after adoption. It is unknown how this animal will do in their new home as all animals can be different with each person. It is important to take this into consideration when thinking about adopting and making sure you are prepared to work with any potential medical or behavior issues that occur after adoption. My adoption fee includes my spay/neuter, current vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, certificate for a free veterinary exam, post-adoption support and more!Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me! If you think we would be a good match come on down and ask to meet me! I`m looking for my forever home and it could be with you!ADOPTION INFORMATION: If you live in the city of Eugene or in Lane County you will be purchasing a dog license in addition to the adoption fee. You will get to choose between a one year, two year, or three year license. This pet is located at Greenhill Humane Society. 88530 Greenhill Road Eugene, OR 97402 (541) 689-1503. Story
Here's looking at you, Lucky! This adventurous boy is ready to charm his way into your heart and home. Lucky didn't have the easiest start in life, but his resilience and playful spirit shine through. With a bright smile and a heart full of love, this 3-year-old Bulldog/Pitbull mix is a bundle of fun and affection, weighing in at a perfect 34 pounds. Lucky is a people-person, or should we say, dog-person? He adores belly rubs and will happily soak up all the love and attention you can give. But don't be fooled by his cuddly side; Lucky is also an explorer at heart. He's always up for a walk, a game, or a new adventure. Lucky is also quite the trained professional, mastering kennel and leash skills with ease. He's the whole package: an adventure buddy and a cuddle companion all in one! Lucky gets along with bigger dogs that he can't intimidate, but his strong prey drive makes squirrels and cats a bit too tempting. However, with people, he's a loyal and affectionate friend. Lucky is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped, so he's all set to join your family. If you're seeking a playful and loving companion to share life's adventures, look no further than Lucky. He's a true charmer with a bright spirit, and he can't wait to bring some fun and laughter into your home.

Story
Squishy, splooty, and spectacularly unbothered… this is Barney. A low-riding, soft-hearted gentleman with a built-in off switch and a very serious commitment to comfort. He’s the kind of dog who treats life like a cozy Sunday afternoon… all day, every day. Go watch Barney Belly-Up Bliss Mode on YouTube, then come back… because seeing the full-body sploot and his signature “booty scratch malfunction” really completes the picture. https://youtu.be/td5ulHjXcNU Barney is estimated to be around 4 years old and weighs about 60 lbs. He looks like a bulldog/staffie mix with that perfectly smooshy, huggable build, but as always, rescue rules apply… breed and birthday are our best guess. What we do know for sure is that Barney has mastered the art of being chill. His foster describes him as easygoing, affectionate, and wonderfully low-key. He lives with multiple dogs of all sizes and ages and gets along beautifully with everyone, happily coexisting and minding his own business like the unbothered king he is. Barney doesn’t need the spotlight. He’s more of a “I’ll be right here if you need me” kind of companion. He’s confident and loving with people, happy to accept affection (especially if it comes in the form of a good booty scratch… fair warning, that may cause a full system reboot). He greets the world with a calm curiosity, takes everything in stride, and if something isn’t his vibe, he simply turns away and carries on. It’s a quiet kind of confidence that makes him incredibly easy to have around. Let’s talk about his hobbies, because Barney is a specialist. His top skills include: professional-level lounging, slow wandering, and executing a 10/10 sploot with textbook form. He’s not here for chaos or cardio. In fact, once he’s decided he’s done walking, he’s done. Think less “let’s go for a hike” and more “let’s sit together and watch the clouds do their thing.” He would thrive in a home that appreciates a slower pace and doesn’t expect playful, high-energy antics. With other dogs, Barney is social but likes to keep it chill. He prefers calm companions who respect his space and aren’t looking for a wrestling partner. He communicates clearly, sets polite boundaries, and then goes back to his regularly scheduled wandering. Barney is not a cat guy so a cat-free home will be needed and he would do best in a home without lots of stairs due to his sturdy build and low-to-the-ground frame. Crates aren’t his favorite either, he will oblige with a tiny woo-woo protest but his foster has found that giving him freedom and comfort works beautifully for him. He is trustworthy are perfectly house-trained. Barney is the definition of a companion dog. Not a project, not a whirlwind… just a steady, lovable presence who wants to exist alongside his people and soak up the simple things. A retired couple maybe, a quiet home, a comfy couch… that’s his dream lineup. If you’ve been waiting for a “no drama, just vibes” kind of dog, Barney is ready to report for duty. Apply today and welcome home your favorite nap partner. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69ebbffb6ed356befb03aa08 Questions?
