Story
This precious boy is Odell! Odell is a 3 year old bully mix weighing about 57 lbs of pure sweetness! Odell was found near the rescue wandering a very busy street until he was scooped up by our very own Candy! She just happened to be driving to the rescue and saw Odell … she literally saved his life! Odell passed his touch test with flying colors and loves nothing more than human affection! He enjoys being pet, hugged and kissed and has been taken out on many doggy day-outs and has behaved beautifully! He rides well in the car and would do well with a person/family who wants a doggy companion to take on errand runs and road trips! Odell would do well in a home with kids as he doesn’t jump and has a soft mouth. He is very gentle and subdued. Odell will need some work on his leash skills as we don’t believe he has spent much time being leashed or going on walks. He pulls when he sees other dogs on leash, and while he is only 57 lbs, he is a bully mix and strong! Once his new owners spend time working on polishing his leash skills he would enjoy neighborhood walks and light hikes! Odell would do best in a home with a fenced in yard where he can run and play to his hearts content. He would also do well in a home where he is paired with a younger, silly male or a female that matches his energy. It would be best if Odell is placed in a cat free home as he was very interested in the house cats during his cat test at the rescue. If he were to be placed in a home with a cat it would need to be a very calm, dog savvy cat. He seems to be cat tolerant but we are unsure if he’s cat friendly. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Story
Calling all Bulldog lovers! Do you just adore squishy, wrinkly faces and chonky, lowrider bodies? Well we have a sweet boy just for you! Meet Earl! We estimate this boy is about 4 years old and an English Bulldog mix, but with rescue we never know for sure. What we do know for sure is he is a couch potato like most Bulldogs. His favorite thing is to cuddle up on the couch with you while you watch the latest movie. Loving and sweet, he just wants to love you and be pampered in return. He loves to play with all toys, but his favorites are balls and ropes. He is obsessed with balls and actually prefers to sleep with his favorite ball in his crate. Like a typical Bulldog, he LOVES to play tug of war with his rope. He can actually keep himself entertained for hours with his toys. This guy is great with dogs of all sizes and temperaments, as well as kids of all ages and abilities, making him perfect for just about any family situation. He passed his cat test but has never lived with cats that we know of, so he could possibly live with cats with slow intros and training. He also lived with a bearded dragon and showed no signs of aggression toward it. This guy is crate and house trained. He will actually ask to go into his crate whenever he wants to, and he will let you know when he needs to go out to potty. He’s definitely an indoor dog and doesn’t really need a yard to play in, although it’s a bonus. He has zero reactivity or behavioral problems that we've witnessed, and is pretty much the perfect low-energy companion. Sometimes he will tinkle a little if he gets scared or too excited. This handsome boy can be in your home as soon as October 28th! The ideal home for Earl will be one with knowledge or experience with the breed, or a willingness to learn. Due to his cropped ears, he is prone to ear infections, and he also has some dry flaky skin due to allergies. He will need a home that will continue to help him with that. He will need a family that understands he’s had a rough start to life and deserves to be loved and spoiled for the rest of his years. You must be willing to play tug of war with him, give him lots of balls to play with, and give him endless snuggles on the couch in the evenings. Are you ready to give this handsome boy the life of a king? Please click the link below to apply!
