Story
**Please note this is pet is currently out of town pet but we will transport this pet to OR for you when adopted. All fees listed include transport fees.** In an unfair turn of events, Trudy found herself in need of rescue when she was surrendered by a breeder. She is good with other dogs, however she is possessive of food and toys around other dogs. So, we feel she would do best in a home by herself. Trudy does fine on walk with other dogs and hanging out with them as long as there is no toys or food involved. She loves hanging out with people and she is good with kids. Trudy truly loves to explore and is always up for an adventure, so if you're looking for an energetic and fun-loving dog, then she is the one for you. Trudy deserves a new leash on life and can't wait to start the next leg of her journey with you! The vet said she is around 3 years old, but we think she might be older. She is 41 lbs and an english bulldog. Interested in becoming this pup’s forever home? For immediate consideration, please fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we DO NOT go any further without an application. If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs — for them, one application will be fine. Because we have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, your application may be missed if you only apply once. Find more adoptable pets, news, and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions finding our fur babies the most loving homes. Please do not apply if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Trudy the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. Our adoption fee is $650. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age-appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention, and travel expenses. All our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for their transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed.

Story
Meet Iris Moon! 🌙💗 Hold onto your hearts, because Iris Moon is about to bulldoze her way right into them — literally and figuratively! This little nugget of joy is short, stocky, and made entirely out of sunshine, slobbery kisses, and wiggles. With her big expressive eyes, smooshy smile, and that perfect little nub tail that never stops wagging, she’s basically a walking serotonin boost. Iris is what we like to call a “tiny tank” — compact, confident, and completely hilarious. She plays like a true bulldog: all heart, all energy, and maybe a little chaos sprinkled in for fun. She’s all about body slams, joyful grunts, and rolling around with her doggy friends. She’s the life of the party in playgroup and does fantastic with other dogs who can handle her big bulldog enthusiasm. She’s currently fostered with larger pups who match her play style perfectly, and she’d love a home with another big doggy buddy — or she’d be just as happy being the center of attention as your one and only cuddle queen! Go see what this girl is all about in her video! https://youtu.be/Z2i608RWnoU?si=fwRhJ5fBC9cmbUIU When she’s not busy making everyone laugh with her silly antics, Iris is a total sweetheart. She adores her humans and wants nothing more than to be snuggled up next to them. Couch time? She’s there. Movie night? She’s got the popcorn eyes ready. Nap time? She’s your girl. She gives the kind of cuddles that make every bad day better. And don’t even get her started on toys — they are her absolute favorite thing in the world! Whether it’s squeaky, bouncy, or fluffy, she’ll carry it around proudly like it’s her greatest treasure. Pair that with her treat motivation and smarts, and she’s a total dream to work with. Iris is crate trained, doing great with her routines, and would thrive in either a cozy apartment or a home with a backyard. She’s a great little mix of energy and calm — playful when it’s time for fun, but gentle and mellow when it’s time to chill. She’s smaller in size, so she’s easy to handle on leash (even if she likes to pull a bit when she’s excited to explore). She’d be best in a home without cats (she thinks they’re a little too interesting!) and would love older kids who can keep up with her bulldog zoomies and occasional “I love you so much I’m gonna barrel into you” moments. Iris Moon is pure joy in dog form — a snorting, smiling, wiggle-butt ray of sunshine who loves big, plays hard, and cuddles even harder. She’s got the bulldog sass, the puppy heart, and the kind of sweetness that fills a home with laughter and love. Whoever adopts this little moonbeam is getting the best of both worlds — the goofy giggles and the softest snuggles imaginable. 💗 Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
IIf couch companion is what you seek, you have found quite possibly the strongest contender! This is Bruno- steady, sweet, and built like the prototype couch potato. He already knows how to live like a gentleman in a home, settles into a routine beautifully, and is eager to make himself part of the family. Go watch Bruno Being the Best Housemate Ever on YouTube, then come right back to meet your new favorite easygoing sidekick. https://youtu.be/X-dBJu2ZUfw Bruno is estimated to be around 5 years old, weighs about 52 lbs, and appears to be a bully mix in classic bulldog form. As always with rescue, breed and age are our best guess. What we do know for sure is that he brings that grounded, content energy… happiest just being near his people and part of whatever the day holds. His story is one of those quiet turns of luck. After being left behind when his previous owner moved out, Bruno was taken in by a kind neighbor who made sure he landed somewhere safe. And from day one, he has shown exactly who he is… a well-mannered, easy presence who seems to already understand how to be a good house dog. In his foster home, Bruno lives with other dogs and blended right in immediately. No big introductions, no adjustment period, just a casual “hey, nice to meet you” and then on with life. He coexists beautifully, enjoys a little playtime here and there, and is just as happy lounging nearby when things are quiet. He would do great with another dog, especially one who enjoys companionship without needing constant play, but he also has the kind of temperament that says he would be perfectly content soaking up all the love as your one and only. With people, Bruno is exactly what you hope for. His foster describes him as a total “loverboy,” the kind of dog who wants to be close… sometimes so close you might have a bathroom buddy. Don’t worry, he isn’t all cling, he can settle independently and will happily lounge around nearby where he can still keep you in his loving sight. It’s a really nice balance of affectionate and secure, with a soft, easy way of connecting. His foster family has shared that day-to-day life with Bruno is refreshingly simple. He is house trained, free roams respectfully, and has proven to be non-destructive. His foster mentioned he might occasionally pick up a sock and parade it around like a prized possession, but he’s gentle with it, doesn’t mean any harm just a playful bid for attention and easily redirects. He’s also easy with toys and chew bones, and you can take things from him without any issue. He enjoys his walks and gets excited to head outside, but it’s the good kind of excitement… the kind that settles once he gets moving. Around new people, he starts with a curious hello and sniff before fully relaxing and sneaking a spot close enough for a gentle kiss. Bruno would truly love a home with a yard. His foster shared that he absolutely lights up being outside, whether it’s exploring on walks, stretching his legs, or just enjoying the fresh air. He’s not a high-energy dog, but he does appreciate having space to move and a routine that includes getting outside regularly. He’s also a great little road trip companion. In the car, he settles in quickly, usually laying down and napping like a seasoned passenger. He may need a little boost getting in (short legs, tall cars… you know how it goes), but once he’s in, he’s all set. At night, Bruno sleeps on his bed right next to his foster’s bed, content just being close. He can also be crated when needed and settles in well once he understands the routine. Overall, his personality sits in that sweet spot between calm and lightly playful… relaxed at home, a little pep in his step for walks, and always tuned into his people. His foster shared, “We don’t have anything negative to say about Bruno,” and honestly, that sums him up perfectly. He doesn’t need a big pitch. He just shows up, settles in, and makes life feel a little softer and a whole lot sweeter. If you’re looking for a dog who already understands home life, brings a calm, steady presence, and will happily be your shadow, couch buddy, and everyday companion… Bruno Buddy Boy is ready and waiting! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69cd4953b666e855a0028498 Questions? Story
She is squish and devotion and believes that “lap-dog” is a state of mind, not a body type. Her name is Barbara but you can call her Barb, she is a classic bulldog with a heart that runs on affection and a personality that says, “can I just schooch in right here?” She doesn’t just enjoy being close, she melts into you like butter on a warm biscuit. Go watch Barbara on YouTube, then come right back to read more about your new favorite passenger princess and professional cuddle enthusiast. https://youtu.be/unKTmsRCd28?si=vdY8nU4srLzwYlcf Barbara is estimated to be around 4 years old and weighs 44 lbs of pure, lovable squish. Her looks let us believe she is bulldog mix but she brings a softness to that otherwise bullyishy stereotype that comes with bulldogs. She brings the perfect blend of adoration, softness, and an easygoing nature that makes it easy to fall head over heels for her instantly. Let’s start with her favorite thing in the world- you! Barbara truly does not believe in strangers. She’ll walk right up, sit sweetly at your feet, and hit you with those big ol’ heart eyes before melting into belly-rub position or at the least, solid foot-warmer. Belly rubs? Yes please. Gentle pets? Absolutely. Attention in any form? She is already on her way over. She shares affection beautifully too, never pushy, just happily collecting love wherever it’s offered. If you are too busy, she will happily wait it out in the form of a nap nearby. She’s also a dream on leash. Barbara walks easily, nicely paced, with little need for correction, making her a perfect match for someone who enjoys relaxed strolls over marathon walks. Think: a nice, easy outing, some fresh air, then straight back inside for couch time. That’s her rhythm, but is that a surprise? Not at all! One role Barbara takes very seriously is that of passenger princess. She rides wonderfully in the car, happy to be your co-pilot for any errand or outing, as long as you remember one important detail… she expects valet service. You will get the door and offer a hand. No tip will be offered. This one area is where the royal treatment isn’t optional. When it comes to other dogs, Barbara is polite- she will greet and move along, often choosing people over playtime. If another dog gets too rowdy, she’s confident enough to give a clear, appropriate correction and then disengage. She would do best with a calm, low-energy dog companion or as your one-and-only, soaking up all the love for herself. She should be in a home with dogs her size or larger (25 lbs+.) At home, Barbara is wonderfully easygoing. She settles in quickly, enjoys a little play but tires out fast, and is happiest just being near her people. She could do well in a house or the right apartment setting, though stairs may be a bit of a challenge, so minimal steps or easy access living would suit her best. One last thing, an important note from Barbara she insists we mention again- she firmly believes that “lap dog” is a state of mind, not a body type… and she is prepared to demonstrate this belief at any given moment. Consider this your official warning/invitation. Barbara is for the person who wants a steady, affectionate, low-key companion… a dog who will sit at your feet (or directly on you), ride shotgun, and remind you daily that love can be soft, simple, and wonderfully squishy. If you’re ready for a loyal little shadow with a heart as big as her bulldog cheeks, Barbara is ready and waiting for you! Story
Chaos, charm, and one perfect ear. That’s Vinne Van Gogh. He’s a four legged wonder who snores louder than your uncle after Thanksgiving, barrels into a room like a tiny wrecking ball, his heavy hot breathing announces his arrival every single time, and somehow he balances all that chaos with sweet side that makes him impossible not to adore. A master piece that only someone who can giggle through the snorts, snores, and bulldog mischief could love. If anything of this intrigues you, keep reading and watch his video below. You’ll either be insanely entertained or better yet, you’ll be wanting to bring this adorable menace home: https://youtu.be/nqMT9iehZ1Q?si=3xkexP-KCBfrfqII Vinnie Van Gogh is estimated to be around two-years-old and is a bulldog mix weighing in at 54 lbs. With rescues we cannot guarantee age or breed given we do not know their past. This guy has the looks of a bulldog and he certainly has the personality to go along with it. Vinnie is a classic bulldog through and through- built like a solid brick house, handsome as all-get-out, a little stubborn because he can be, and considers himself to be the greatest work of art since…well, anything. Picasso could never create something this legendary. Being the legend he is and his main character energy, Vinnie prefers a one dog household where the spotlight stays exactly where it belongs. On him and him alone. Just the way he likes it! Vinnie is a bowling ball powered by Wreck-it-Ralph energy and has a sour patch kid personality. First he’s chaos, then he cuddles. Fair warning though, most cuddles with Vinnie do end up with you covered in slobber, hair, and him very heavily breathing on you with his hot breath LOL. You gotta be someone that likes that type of affection. He stomps, snorts, and accidentally (debatable) redecorates your living room, so best of luck to your pillows. Consider him equal parts demolition crew and sugar-coated sweet heart. He is somewhat energetic for a bulldog mix but it makes for a good balance of goofy-boy with couch-potato tendencies. True to his bulldog nature, he’s better suited for short walks or backyard playtime rather than long-distance strolls anyway. A securely fenced yard would be ideal since he’s a curious explorer who likes to keep tabs on what’s happening outside. Are you someone that works from home? He’ll be great but hopefully you aren’t someone that is easily distracted by noises because Vinnie literally snores like a grown man and aren’t going to be bothered by his hot heavy breathing. Sweet boy just can’t help it but be noisey. On the brightside, you’ll never not know where he is because you will always hear him regardless of what he’s doing. Even when he’s sleeping LOL. With toys, he loves the squeaky toys and likes to conduct his very own squeak symphony with all his favorite toys. It’s quite comical. He also loves toys that he can turn into his own personal pacifier…We know, he’s a little weirdo and it just adds to his inner belief that he’s a toddler in a wrinkle suit. Vinnie is ready and waiting to find his perfect match: a family or person who appreciates his bulldog quirks and gives him the structure and security to thrive. In return for that he’ll make sure your life is never boring, filled with laughter, and hot breath snuggles. We are willing to test Vinnie Van Gogh with anything you need to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
