We might be extra attached to this boy after fighting so hard to free him.Zen has lived his whole life in a cage, outdoors... in Texas...Let that sink in..... Grover T. Biscuit: The Legend Grover Theodore Biscuit was born in a cozy little town famous for its bakery, where every dog was named after a type of baked good. Grover, however, was not 'every' dog. From puppyhood, he had a knack for finding the warmest sunny spots, where he would snooze to get warm (like he was freshly baked biscuits straight out of the oven). Grover T., as the locals called him, had a signature look: a soft, white coat dotted with dark spots, as if someone had sprinkled him with cinnamon sugar. Sweet-tempered but a little stubborn, he developed a reputation as the Gentleman Biscuit always ready with a slow, affectionate wag and a snore louder than a rolling pin. In his younger days, Grover fancied himself a bit of an adventurer, sneaking into the bakery basement to sneak nibbles of secret recipes. But now, hes mostly retired, enjoying a calm life of afternoon naps, occasional biscuit treats, and the company of anyone who needs a friend. Some say if you hear a soft crunch outside your door at dawn, thats just Grover T. Biscuit patrolling the neighborhood making sure everythings just right, one biscuit crumb at a time. So, that's probably his backstory...And now we're here for his future story: a family, looking to open their hearts and their home to a sweet, squashy, perfect bulldog looking for all the humans to love solo or, with a single, chill, EASY-GOING doggo. Sweet Grover is heartworm positive, so he needs to stay close to our vets for his treatment.BUT, never fear, heartworm infection is easily treated and will not recur with regular prevention.ABR will cover the cost of this treatment and provide all guidance for his appointments and aftercare. We are daily filled with shock and awe at the capacity for cruelty that humans have and the strength of spirit of our dogs, as well as their capacity to love. We'll spare you the broken record story that WAS Dovie's life.You can check her story out HERE. What matters now is that Dovie's now is filled with love, yummy snackos, scritches, and ALL the A/C.She has all the soft spots to rest, and she has nothing but love for everyone she meets. Her EPIC foster mama thinks her IDEAL home would match the following Dovie criteria: A single-family home with no stairs. She's totally fine if they work away from home. She's pretty chill and self-reliant. Cats are okay (she has had no reaction to them). She 100% needs someone who can keep up with her grooming daily (ideally an experienced bull family member or someone 100% willing to learn and stay in touch with our team for check-ups and check-ins). She's excellent at taking small, short walks (in her buggy, she says walking is for humans!). Dovie is fighting fit and showing us a little more of the silly, delicious girl she really is every day. She has truly blossomed into the sweetest soul. Every day her gentle, affectionate personality shines brighter - she's a loyal shadow and a total cuddle bug when it's time to unwind. She truly is Bulldog perfection. We cannot wait to see her settled with her perfect family (and, we are ALL going to be so, so jealous of them!). Brad is THAT guy that everyone wants as their friend.As a mature-aged doggo, your new best friend Brad is perfectly potty trained, has excellent manners, and loves to chill in his cozy, comfy crate. He starts every day like a true champion of the blankets slow to rise, quick to eat, and always ready to inspect the backyard (which may or may not involve stealing a tomato). After breakfast and a bit of bone-chewing, hes right back to bed. His favorite hangouts are his living room bed and bedroom bed, where he enjoys serious napping and quiet time.We're sensing a trend here... Hes a mellow, lovable guy who just wants to be near his humans. Hes not a huge snuggler but loves being close, gives sweet kisses, and lights up for car rides especially when he gets to be co-pilot. Put his collar on, and youll see his signature happy prance. Vacuums and bells are his sworn enemies, and thunder makes him nervous (but don't worry, his people have ways to help him manage big scary things). His future family should be prepared for quality pamper sessions (all the typical bulldog skin care business)- on the regular. MR B miiight play hard to get at first but with some yummy treatos he can be convinced to do anything Bruce is all heart: easygoing, grateful, and happiest just hanging out by your side. Hes waiting for a calm home where he can keep being his lovable, tomato-thieving self. He's honestly a dog who will seem like he's always been home as soon as he gets there.
