Did you ever want a lab that wasn't a labby lab? Or a Coonhound that wasn't quite so big? Or a beagle that wasn't quite so small?! River is the girl for you! River weighs 55lbs and looks like a (medium-ish) hound. She sounds like a (large-ish) hound even. But she, is SO much more than just a hound! River loves to play fetch and will happily let you throw a ball her way for as long as you are willing to do so.  River is crate trained and potty trained and walks well on a leash. She LOVES to play fetch and seems utterly ambivalent to dogs. She's happy to be friends, or just aquaintences. River is kid friendly, has never met a person she doesn't like, and is up for any adventure! You can bathe her, clip her nails and expect her to cooperate at the vet. She is not particularly a fan of cats. They move a bit too fast and are too fun to chase.  River is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and had a vet well visit. Dory has some mild anxiety around storms and fireworks, but is happy to snuggle up under a blanket and ostrich her way through it. She is fine in the car. Her adoption fee is $175. Meet Ruger ??Ruger is a 47lb, 7-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound who’s been quietly winning hearts here at the shelter. He arrived with another dog and was pretty scared and timid at first—shelter life can be loud and overwhelming. But once we got him out of his kennel and into a calmer, quieter space, Ruger showed us who he really is: a sweet, gentle, and lovely boy.Ruger warms up quickly and enjoys human affection. He’s a curious guy who loves to sniff out all the interesting smells around him, and he’s always happy to earn a treat—especially if that treat happens to be cat food (his favorite!). He also loves to play fetch and is thrilled when someone takes the time to engage with him.He doesn’t seem to mind having other dogs around and does well in their presence. We’re still unsure how Ruger feels about cats, so a meet-and-greet would be recommended if there are feline friends at home.We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment only.
