Story
Location: Sacramento, CA Meet Bruno – Tiny Body, Big Heart Bruno is a 6-pound Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua mix with the sweetest soul and the most devoted little heart. At just 3½ years old, this tiny gentleman found himself surrendered when his owner could no longer keep him. Despite the change, Bruno has adjusted beautifully and is ready to find his forever person. Bruno is: Crate trained Housebroken and pee pad trained Great on leash Not destructive (no chewing or digging!) Completely indifferent to cats Not food aggressive Easy to medicate (tiny pills tucked in chicken work perfectly!) He’s a classic Italian Greyhound mix — a little sensitive at first, but deeply bonded once he trusts you. Bruno is extremely attached to his humans and would happily spend most of his day curled up in your lap. He does have a bit of lap possessiveness around other dogs, but it’s all talk — no nipping or concerning behavior. In fact, he has done well with other dogs overall and even handled visits from a large Golden Retriever, though he preferred the safety of being held. He’s not a big barker, but he is a “talker.” His excited chatter can sound like growling, but it’s simply his quirky way of expressing himself. Medical Bruno is neutered and currently on seizure medication. He has had three seizures in his lifetime and is doing well on his prescribed treatment. He takes medication three times daily, so he will need a home where someone is present and consistent — ideally a work-from-home adopter or a young retiree. He will need a veterinary relationship for ongoing bloodwork, vaccines, and prescription refills. He currently has about 40 days of medication on hand. Ideal Home Bruno would thrive: As an only dog, or with one friendly small dog In an apartment or townhome (thanks to pee pad skills) With someone home most of the day In a calm, stable environment He enjoys a yard and walks but is perfectly manageable in smaller living spaces. He’s currently on sensitive stomach kibble and doing well. Bruno is a loyal, loving little companion who simply wants to be close to his person. If you’re looking for a devoted lap dog with a gentle heart and a tiny frame, Bruno may be your perfect match. Story
Meet Nala! She is a beautiful, super sweet, goofy, playful seven-month-old puppy who loves to zoom and leap over everything (including other dogs)! She was rescued from the streets, so she needs a home where she can be supervised indoors while being outside in a secure, puppy-proof backyard, as she loves to go under fences and through holes. We believe Nala is half Italian greyhound, so she can run really fast! Sweet Nala is full of love and will knock you down to give you kisses and stick her whole head in your shirt and her nose in your ear and just smother you with love. When she tires herself out, she will fall asleep with her head on your shoulder. She has long legs like a baby deer and is a distinguished looking little lady. Although she weighs almost 30 pounds, Nala thinks she is tiny and loves to cuddle in your lap. She is energetic and loves to play, so she would do well with another non-aggressive dog. Once she trusts the other dog, she will play nonstop. Nala is still a puppy and loves to chew on everything, so she needs plenty of chew toys to keep her busy chewing on healthy objects. The puppy in her makes her want to chase cats so she is probably best in a home with no cats. Nala is still working on her leash skills. She is crate-trained and will go potty outside if you take her regularly; she is also pee pad trained when indoors. If you are looking for a loving, enthusiastic, energetic young dog, then Nala just might be your girl!

Story
Meet Taquito ❤️ Tiny, Sweet, and Ready to Be Someone’s Little Best Friend Breed: Italian Greyhound Terrier Mix Gender: Male | Age: 2 Years | Weight/Size: 7 lbs (Small) Good With: Dogs: Yes | Cats: Unknown | Kids: Yes Personality: ❤️ Sweet | Affectionate | Loving | Friendly Medical: ✔️ Neutered | ✔️ Vaccinations Up to Date Location: Los Angeles, California Transportation: Ozzie and Friends Rescue coordinates safe transportation for approved adopters throughout the United States. ❤️ Personality & Breed Information Taquito is an adorable two-year-old  weighing only about 7 pounds. He's a tiny little guy with a sweet personality who is ready to find a family to call his own. Taquito may be small, but little dogs can bring an incredible amount of companionship into a home. He's at a wonderful age—past the earliest puppy stage but still a young adult with many years ahead of him. Taquito is known for being intelligent, alert, affectionate, and deeply devoted to their people. Because Taquito is such a small dog, his family should always be mindful of his size. He should be handled gently and protected from situations where he could accidentally be injured by rough play, large dogs, or unsafe jumps. Taquito would thrive with a family that provides: Plenty of love and companionship Daily walks appropriate for his size Playtime and interactive toys Positive-reinforcement training Mental stimulation and enrichment Consistent household routines A warm, comfortable place to rest Safe handling appropriate for a very small dog A secure indoor home where he's part of the family A lifelong commitment Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Although Taquito is already two years old, every rescue dog needs time to adjust to a new environment. His adopter should be prepared to continue reinforcing house training, leash manners, basic commands, and household routines as needed. Small dogs benefit from the same consistent training and boundaries as larger dogs. Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe 3 Weeks to understand his new household routine 3 Months to fully settle in, build trust, and feel at home Patience and positive reinforcement will help Taquito understand his new environment and develop a strong bond with his family. At only seven pounds, safety is especially important. Taquito should be securely leashed or contained when outside, and his family should make sure doors, gates, fences, and other potential escape areas are secure. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Taquito is already neutered and up to date on his vaccinations, giving him a great start toward a healthy future. His adopter should continue providing: Routine veterinary wellness examinations Recommended vaccination boosters Flea, tick, heartworm, and parasite prevention Routine dental examinations and dental care Quality nutrition appropriate for his size Healthy weight management Regular age-appropriate exercise Mental stimulation and enrichment Continued positive-reinforcement training Veterinary treatment whenever illness or injury occurs A safe and comfortable indoor home Dental care can be particularly important for small breeds such as Chihuahuas, so regular dental monitoring and good at-home care should be part of Taquito's lifelong routine. Adoption Information If you are interested in adopting Taquito, please complete an adoption application at: https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions Thank you for considering adoption through Ozzie and Friends Rescue, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit dedicated to helping deserving dogs find safe, loving, permanent homes. Although we are based in Los Angeles, California, we coordinate safe transportation for approved adopters throughout the United States. Taquito is just seven pounds of sweetness waiting for a family of his own. This little guy doesn't need much space—but he does need a whole lot of love, a safe place to call home, and someone committed to being his person for life. ❤️October 13, 2026, 12:23 pm

Story
Don’t be fooled by this 8 lb. Chihuahua’s size! Walter’s personality could fill a football stadium. This dynamo wants to be the center of your world, and deservedly so. He will binge watch every TV show, take that all important afternoon nap, and then be ready for a nice walk. Other dogs are tolerated, but Walter truly wants to be the star of the household. He's perfect for someone who works from home (he’d love to be your personal assistant) or someone who is retired (he's your buddy for adventures, gardening, shopping, etc)-- Walter’s not picky, his goal is to be your cool companion. Walter is also a foodie--he loves treats and food which makes him very trainable. Walter is suspicious at first of new people (aren’t we all) but give him a few days to settle in and he will be your best friend! This boy was found on the streets and had been hit by a car. Tails of the City stepped in, rescued him, and provided the medical treatment and love this scared and hurt pup needed. Now Walter is waiting for that forever home that will shower him with the love and attention he deserves!   DUE TO COVID ADOPTIONS ARE CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE! MEET AND GREETS AVAILABLE.
