Looking to find a loving, new home for my two girls Pisco and Nazca. They are a pair of 5 year old, pure breed Italian greyhounds I adopted as puppies from an AKC breeder in Georgia. They were part of the same litter so they are quite literally sisters. Pisco and Nazca are extremely affectionate, warm and quiet. Nazca is the more fearless of the pair while Pisco is more timid and their personalities complement each other perfectly. True to the Italian greyhound breed, they will have short spurts of playfulness with each other throughout the day, but mostly like to cuddle nap and go on good walks. They are great with humans, including children, and also other dogs once they are familiar. Reluctantly, but with their best interest at heart, I need to find a loving home for my girls since I’m away from home for 14 hours at a time due to my line of work. I am unable to give them the in-person time they deserve and I don’t have access to a yard space for them to run in daily.

Meet and greets will be held in RIVERSIDE, CA https://pawsitivetailstoremember.forms-db.com/view.php?id=17980 Amelia is 2 years old and she weighs 26 lbs. and we believe she is a blend of Whippet and Italian Greyhound. We do not guarantee her breed since it’s just an educated guess on our part. Amelia was rescued October 21, 2021. She came from a hoarding / abuse situation and she was severely emaciated and unable to stand due to starvation. Amelia received care for several weeks at the shelter before she was available as a “Rescue Only” pup due to her background. She was only one yrs old. Amelia has been with the same fosters in Riverside since her rescue. Her personality is perplexing to say the least. After a year in the same foster situation she still is frightened of all things that go bump, or shadows, or movement. She was obviously traumatized in her past life with the hoarder. She continues being traumatized and Amelia needs someone, a person with experience, understanding and who has had experience dealing with dogs who will shut down with change! She has come as far as her fosters can take her. She needs to be in a home where daily touching and socializing will be done. She will respond more to one person handling her than an entire family. She will shake and tremble in fear. Amelia WILL NOT BITE !!!!!! She tends to shred her bedding and whatever else she can get too….typical of her puppy type mentality. She is a kind dog and good with other dogs and cats. Amelia can shut down at times to a point where she won't poop or pee. She will hold it or do it in her crate. HER CRATE IS HER SAFE PLACE. Change is difficult for her and her young life was filled with so much emotional abuse with the things she witnessed that she is not a dog you can bring home and turn her loose in your backyard! She will bolt and she has tremendous athletic ability and she will try and scale your SIX FOOT fence. She MUST be walked with harness and 2 leashes in the beginning. You will also do this with her in your own yard when she first comes to you. She will be frightened of her own shadow. Experience and patience is the key. Nothing less! Amelia is beautiful and deserves to expand her life. She needs and wants that one special person who will be HER special person. Will you be that person, Amelia’s hero?
