Story
George's Story George is a 2 year old, 60 pound Boxer mix. He was rescued from an owner who kept him chained to a dog house and fed him only occasionally. The neighbor was keeping him alive and walking him when she could. In spite of this he was still suffering from malnutrition when he came to Save-A-Life. He is now neutered, vaccinated, has been treated for heartworm infestation and is healthy and very happy to be in rescue. This is a charming guy who gives sloppy kisses and has a great time at PetsMart on Saturdays. He is trained to sleep in a crate at night, does well walking on a leash and enjoys playing with the other large dogs. He and Michael, the Weimaraner play tag and wrestle whenever they are outside together. George needs a fenced yard to get sufficient exercise. He does well with children and adults. Meet Buster! This bundle of joy moves more like a bunny than a dog, with springs in his legs and endless playful energy! When playtime is over, he transforms into the ultimate cuddle buddy, snuggling as close as possible with the sweetest eyes you've ever seen. Buster is house-trained and crate-trained (especially with his favorite peanut butter kong), settling quietly once inside. He's a smart cookie who already knows "sit," "lay down," and "paw," and he's eager to learn more tricks! While he's still figuring out which items are chew toys (shoes are a temptation!), he hasn't destroyed anything. He's currently mastering leash leash skills as well! This social butterfly loves other dogs and enjoys a good game of chase. Due to his strength and speed, he may be better suited for families with older children when playing outside. His interactions with cats are unknown, but he's been gentle with a small chihuahua puppy, though their size difference made playtime challenging. Buster's goal in life is simple: to be your best friend! He's perfect for an active family that's ready for lots of fun, cuddles, and adventure.

Riptide is a loving, intelligent, goofy dog that loves to be outside exploring, chewing sticks and snuggling up to someone under a blanket. He’s a plump couch potato with a keen sense of danger in the form of squirrels and cars outside. Riptide loves to eat bananas and treats, he sometimes needs encouragement to eat his meals so someone will need to stand next to him, he just doesn’t like to dine alone. Riptide would be need to be in a single dog home only, and potentially with no children.
