STAR is a foster-based rescue. All our rescue animals stay in foster homes until adoption. We do not have a central facility. Chowder is a tri-color bully with a stocky, low-rider build and the kind of presence that makes people stop and say, “Wow.” And then there are those eyes — one of each color — that will steal your heart in about two seconds flat. This guy lives for mealtime (and he knows exactly when it’s coming), loves a good chew toy. He plays hard, chews enthusiastically, and brings big energy wherever he goes. Chowder would thrive with an active family who enjoys adventures, playtime, and including their dog in everyday life. Whether it’s walks, outings, or just being your shadow, he’s ready to be all in. If you’re looking for a strong, handsome companion with personality, heart, and the most incredible eyes you’ve ever seen, Chowder is your guy. All STAR animals come vetted, Up to Date (UTD) on age appropriate shots and testing, spay and neutered (if of age,) and microchipped. AGE DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, most of the orphaned animals that come into our rescue looking for homes don’t bring birth certificates. Sometimes we know our pets’ ages. Sometimes we don’t. So we make our best guess based on the condition of their teeth and the veterinarians best guess.   BREED DISCLAIMER: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label . Microchips: For the safety of our dogs and peace of mind of our fosters and adopters, STAR microchips all dogs prior to adoption with Petlink Microchips. Please understand that all dogs MUST still wear a collar with ID tags (which include your current information) AT ALL TIMES. Please remember, our foster dogs are extremely important to us-- we will always take any of our dogs back, if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. Never surrender him/her to a shelter! I’m Stew, a handsome American Bully with a stocky build, soulful eyes, and a BIG personality. I’m all about full bowls, soft beds, and being someone’s best buddy. Let’s get one thing straight: mealtime is my FAVORITE event of the day. Breakfast? Incredible. Dinner? Elite. Snacks? YES PLEASE. I’m very food-motivated, take treats nicely, and love learning new things when snacks are involved. When I’m not thinking about food, you’ll find me happily gnawing on a chew toy or bone — I lovesssss them. I’ll proudly carry one around like a prized possession and settle in for a good chew session. Toys and bones keep me busy and very content. I’m a total sweetheart who enjoys being near my people and would do great with an active family that enjoys walks, playtime, and adventures. I haven’t officially lived with other dogs or cats yet, but I’m not overly reactive and could do well with proper introductions. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, food-loving cuddle bug who’s always down for snacks, toys, and couch time — I’m your guy.
