Story
Available to Adopt – Bazooka Current Location – Fostoria OH Look what love can do! From how we received this boy in late April  to now, just look at his transformation. Bazooka is such a good example of why our rescue exists, and the good that can happen.  Bazooka came to us as nothing more than skin and bones – only 37 pounds! That’s insane! We promptly got him to one of our awesome foster homes, where he was put on a slow refeeding protocol, and given all the love he deserves. He had many growths that needed to be removed, and was in bad need of a dental. Bazooka had to have some teeth removed along with the growths, and we are now optimistic for his future. He is reported to be the perfect dog, and loves to run and play with his foster sisters.  Some key facts about this awesome boy –  Adores people and would love to be with you as often as possible.   Estimated to be 9 years old, and that isn’t slowing him down  Respectful of cats, but might chase them outside if they run  Is not destructive at all, and a crate isn’t needed (though he is tolerant)  Fully potty trained  No problems with leash walking, grooming or car rides (loves to go on adventures!)  Loves to play with toys, especially balls Bazooka is just a great example of how resilient dogs can be. Despite all the bad cards life dealt him, he’s now a happy go lucky boy who is putting that past behind him. All he needs now is that perfect forever home.  ##2714650##

Story
Orwell is even cuter in person! He is estimated to be about 8 months old and weighs 52 pounds right now. Meet Orwell, a name that seems super appropriate and fitting for some reason! He is honestly just a big goof with the cutest snaggletooth grin you've ever seen. We have discovered that he absolutely loves the Kong Wubba to play with, it is so fun to watch him. He is hoping maybe his new home might have a basket of toys or something with one in there! Orwell is a friendly fella, you can't help but smile when you are around him, or honestly just looking at him, before you know it, yup, you are smiling. He is still just a baby and needs a family who wants to spend time teaching him all the good stuff in life on how to be the best boy. We think Orwell's playful spirit and goofy attitude will bring endless joy to his new home. He would love it if you came to meet him, he can't wait to have a family. He will need a home where any children are at least 8 years old, who can handle having this big pup around! If you are interested in Orwell and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

These pups are in Frankenmuth, Michigan too!

Story
STAR is a foster-based rescue. All our rescue animals stay in foster homes until adoption. We do not have a central facility. If you want to meet any of our adoptables please submit an application.  Hi! I was born 3/2/26 and I’m one of a litter of 11 puppies! Our sweet momma took such good care of us. We are guessed to be a mix of Pit Bull and Catahoula Leopard Dog, which explains all of our fun colors and unique patterns! I’m currently looking for my forever home and my foster mom says I’m extra special because she thinks I may be deaf. But she also says that doesn’t make me any less amazing — it just means I experience the world a little differently, and someone out there is still going to love me exactly as I am. I’m a very happy, playful girl who loves everyone I meet! I get along great with cats, kids, and other dogs. I’m outgoing, confident, and full of personality — honestly, you probably wouldn’t even know there’s anything different about me! My adoption fee includes: • Age-appropriate vetting and vaccines • Flea/tick/heartworm prevention • Dewormings since 2 weeks old • Starter food • Collar & leash • Treats and a toy If you have questions about me, please email heather@savingtailsanimalrescue.org All STAR animals come vetted, Up to Date (UTD) on age appropriate shots and testing, spay and neutered (if of age,) and microchipped. AGE DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, most of the orphaned animals that come into our rescue looking for homes don’t bring birth certificates. Sometimes we know our pets’ ages. Sometimes we don’t. So we make our best guess based on the condition of their teeth and the veterinarians best guess.   BREED DISCLAIMER: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label . Microchips: For the safety of our dogs and peace of mind of our fosters and adopters, STAR microchips all dogs prior to adoption with Petlink Microchips. Please understand that all dogs MUST still wear a collar with ID tags (which include your current information) AT ALL TIMES. Please remember, our foster dogs are extremely important to us-- we will always take any of our dogs back, if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. Never surrender him/her to a shelter!
