Story
Photos to come! Please see HSBC website to adopt. -Hover "Adopt". Click on "Dog". -Scroll to "How to Adopt" - Click on "Dog Application" Stormy certainly has the Boxer vibe AND personality. She is wildly fun, with lots of energy. She is certain that she is the funniest person in the room. Her very first birthday is December 6th, 2025! She doesn't might gifts that are for her birthday AND for Christmas - her wish is a home where she will never be left behind. Stormy will need training, of course, but if you love to laugh, she is the girl for you. Stormy is around 46 lbs, is spayed, UTD on prevention and is microchipped. She has the typical Boxer coat pattern, but is Black with White. Her adoption fee is $300. She has been good with dogs, kids, and adults. We do not know about cats. December 4, 2025, 1:35 pm

Story
Available to Adopt – Chopper Current Location – Kalamazoo MI Howdy! What are you doing this holiday season? How would you like a Velcro buddy to share it with? I’m going to be ready to move on to my forever home soon, and I’m ready to start my search. So, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am a nice, middle-aged guy. They tell me I’m 5, maybe 6. Age is but a number, and I really don’t understand those. I don’t understand toys much either, but I sure love a good game of tag in the backyard. I’m happy, playful and silly. And I love people – all people big and small. I don’t mind a crate at all, and will walk right in, especially when it’s meal time.  What you will notice is that I love my person fiercely. Seriously, if I could figure out how to climb into your skin with you, I would. I am not a big fan of being ignored over things like cell phones. I’ll do my best to get your attention back if you get sidetracked and forget about me. I am fine if you need to leave the house for a few hours, I’ll be anxiously awaiting your return. OR, if you can take me with you, all the better. I love car rides and am a perfect gentleman. As far as other canines, well, what can I say. I am not big on competition, especially from other male dogs. I do want to be the king in my castle. Possibly I could live with a laid back female, but we’d need careful introductions and possibly the assistance of a trainer. My foster thinks I just haven’t been socialized enough. My original owner said I lived with 3 other dogs, but I was surrendered to a shelter, so we don’t have any further details there. I have no idea what a cat is…  I guess the takeaway here is I’d be crazy, happy to be an only pet, but any other living situation may need some work.  My foster wishes he could keep me because I’m so awesome, but he has 2 males, so it’s not going to work out.  ##2556782##

Story
***Lavender is in a foster home, so she is not at the kennel. If you are interested in her, please fill out the application at K9stray.com and we will be in touch. Thank you.*** Hi there! My name is Lavender, and I'm so excited to find my family. I'm a gorgeous, loving girl who is so sweet, you'll fall in love with me instantly! I am about 2 years old and weigh 31 pounds. I love to be close to you and receive lots of affection. Be it through cuddles or just spending time together, I'm a true sweet soul who craves closeness. Everyone tells me I am such a well-mannered, sweet girl with the cutest little white paws. I can be a little shy at first though and hesitant of new things. With quick, sudden movements I may cower, but then I seek you out for comfort and reassurance. I can be submissive too, but with an experienced leader I can rely on, I know I can get over my hurdles. My adopter needs to have the time and patience to help build my trust and confidence, but I will be so worth it. I just know I will make such an awesome best friend. I am just brimming with love and affection and can’t wait to give it all to a family. I make everyone at the rescue laugh, I love to carry something around in my mouth and it seems to make me all wiggly and I love to show it to you, it makes me so proud. If it is a tennis ball, all the better! I will need a home where any children are calm, respectful and at least 4 years old though with my shy nature. If you have another nice doggy sibling, I would love to meet them. I do super cute playbows and have a nice balanced play style. Oh, I almost forgot, I love to sneak up in your lap, so I hope my new family is ok with that and having lots of snuggle time! I sure hope you come and meet me soon. I don't know why, but I don't care for cats though, so no kitties for me! If you are interested in Lavender and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

STAR is a foster-based rescue. All our rescue animals stay in foster homes until adoption. We do not have a central facility. If you want to meet any of our adoptables please submit an application.  Meet Chowder — Ready for His Fresh Start! Say hello to Chowder! Like his buddy Stew, he came from a home where life was… well, far from what any dog deserves. The conditions were rough, love was limited, and stability was nonexistent. Thankfully, Chowder is now safe, cared for, and finally learning what it feels like to live like a cherished family member. Chowder wasn’t as thin as Stew, but he still came from the same situation — and he’s soaking up every bit of kindness, comfort, and routine like it’s all brand new (because it is). He’s a sweet, gentle boy who loves being with his people, enjoys his toys, and is discovering that soft beds and regular meals are pretty amazing. His personality is blossoming more every day! Chowder would do great with a family who enjoys activity, playtime, and being involved with their dog. He is learning the good life quickly and is so ready for a forever home that will treat him with the love and dignity he always deserved. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a big heart and an even bigger desire to make you smile, Chowder may be your perfect match. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Apply to meet him today — his new beginning starts with you! All STAR animals come vetted, Up to Date (UTD) on age appropriate shots and testing, spay and neutered (if of age,) and microchipped. AGE DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, most of the orphaned animals that come into our rescue looking for homes don’t bring birth certificates. Sometimes we know our pets’ ages. Sometimes we don’t. So we make our best guess based on the condition of their teeth and the veterinarians best guess.   BREED DISCLAIMER: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label . Microchips: For the safety of our dogs and peace of mind of our fosters and adopters, STAR microchips all dogs prior to adoption with Petlink Microchips. Please understand that all dogs MUST still wear a collar with ID tags (which include your current information) AT ALL TIMES. Please remember, our foster dogs are extremely important to us-- we will always take any of our dogs back, if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. Never surrender him/her to a shelter! This little firecracker is ready for her forever home! &#239&#184&#143 Chili has been settling beautifully into her foster home and is proving what a smart, sweet girl she truly is. She’s doing great with crate training — even making it through a full workday without any accidents! She loves attention, enjoys her toys, and has that classic puppy energy with a touch of silliness. Her foster family says she’s a joyful little character who keeps everyone laughing. If you're looking for a fun, affectionate young pup who’s eager to learn and ready for love, Chili might be the perfect match. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Apply to adopt at www.linktr.ee/starescue I get along great with  kids, cats, dogs, and even pigs! STAR is a foster-based rescue. All our rescue animals stay in foster homes until adoption. We do not have a central facility. If you want to meet any of our adoptables please submit an application.  Meet Stew — Your Future King of Cuddles! Hi there! My name is Stew, and I’m a 2-year-old American Bully who has traded a life of squalor for one of soft beds, full bellies, and being treated like the royalty I truly am. When my foster mom first got me, I was very underweight… but don’t worry, I’m filling out beautifully and feeling better every day! Despite my rough start, I am incredibly sweet and just want to be loved. I adore my toys, enjoy being near my people, and would thrive with an active family who likes walks, playtime, and maybe even some adventures. Food was scarce in my past, so mealtime is basically my favorite thing ever—but I don’t resource guard, and I’m learning to take treats gently like a perfect little gentleman. I haven’t lived with other dogs or cats in my foster home, so my compatibility is still unknown, but I’m not overly reactive when I see other dogs out and about, like at the vet. With proper intros, I may do just fine! If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, wiggly, toy-loving guy who is ready to be spoiled for the rest of his life, then look no further. Stew is ready for his forever throne. Apply to meet me today — I can’t wait to love you!
