Story
Please see HSBC website to adopt. -Hover "Adopt". Click on "Dog". -Scroll to "How to Adopt" - Click on "Dog Application" Stormy certainly has the Boxer vibe AND personality. She is hilarious, wildly fun, with lots of energy. She is certain that she is the funniest person in the room. Her very first birthday is December 6th, 2025! She doesn't might gifts that are for her birthday AND for Christmas - her wish is a home where she will never be left behind. Stormy will need training, of course, but if you love to laugh, she is the girl for you. Stormy is around 46 lbs, is spayed, UTD on prevention and is microchipped. She has the typical Boxer coat pattern, but is Black with White. Her adoption fee is $300. She has been good with dogs, kids, and adults. We do not know about cats. December 22, 2025, 11:40 am

Story
Bella has recently been left an orphan, her beloved human has passed away. She lived alone with an elderly lady. There is no one to care for her now. She’s good with people and kids. Does ok with other dogs. But has never around cats. She needs lots of love, attention and understanding. She loves walks. She like to play but a little more on the laid back side, because not much action in her previous home, unless kids were around.

Story
Meet Sam! Sam is a three-month-old, 15-pound boxer mix who arrived at GLDR with his brother Dean. Dean has already found his forever family so let's help Sam find his happily ever after! Sam is everything a happy-go-lucky pup should be. He's full of life and love and will provide years of companionship and happy memories for one lucky family. As he's still a young man, he'll benefit from continued training, daily exercise and a yard to enjoy. Adopting a puppy is a long-term commitment that takes a-lot of patience and dedication. Sam will need a family that has the time to help mold him into the best adult dog that he can be! Based on our evaluation, Sam would do well in an active home with adults or families with kids of all ages. He may have the potential to live in a home with other pets. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you think he could be the puppy you've been dreaming of, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for our sensational Sam!

Story
This nice girl only wants to be close to you! Wendy is estimated to be about a year old and weighs 28 pounds. Meet Wendy, the sweetest, most adorable pup you'll ever lay eyes on! She's what we call "shmedium", not quite small, but about as small as medium gets! This cutie is a bundle of joy, with a waggy tail that will melt your heart. Wendy is for sure a people-person, she sticks to you like glue and loves nothing more than to be right by your side, snuggled up close. She's a real cuddle bug! Wendy is fun spirited and just wants to connect and engage with her people. She would love an active, fun family that loves to be with her. With her sweet nature and playful personality, Wendy is going to make such a special best friend. She would thrive in a home that can provide structure and a basic obedience refresher to go with her already perfect “sit”. Wendy would love it if you came to meet her and she'll show you just how wonderful life can be with a waggy-tailed shadow by your side! She will need a home where any children are at least 4 years old. If you are interested in Wendy and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

STAR is a foster-based rescue. All our rescue animals stay in foster homes until adoption. We do not have a central facility. If you want to meet any of our adoptables please submit an application.  &#226&#156&#168 Meet Cream Soda — The Happiest Little Pittie Around &#226&#156&#168 Hi! I’m Cream Soda, a petite pitty with a BIG smile and an even bigger heart. I may be missing an ear (adds character, if you ask me), but I didn’t lose an ounce of joy — I’m truly one of the happiest, most loving little girls you’ll ever meet. I adore everyone. Kids, adults, tall people, tiny people — if you have hands for pets, I’m in. I’m gentle, affectionate, and love being close to my people. Cuddling is one of my favorite hobbies, right up there with snack time. Speaking of snacks… YES PLEASE. I absolutely love treats, take them very nicely, and am always polite and eager. Snack time is serious business, but I handle it like a lady. Cream Soda didn’t get her Christmas wish this year, but maybe she’s meant for something even better… a New Year’s resolution family? One who’s ready to spoil her, snuggle her, and give her the forever home she so deeply deserves. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle, joyful companion who will love you with her whole heart — Cream Soda is waiting. Make 2026 the year Cream Soda finally gets her happily ever after. Apply to adopt and meet this little ray of sunshine. All STAR animals come vetted, Up to Date (UTD) on age appropriate shots and testing, spay and neutered (if of age,) and microchipped. AGE DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, most of the orphaned animals that come into our rescue looking for homes don’t bring birth certificates. Sometimes we know our pets’ ages. Sometimes we don’t. So we make our best guess based on the condition of their teeth and the veterinarians best guess.   BREED DISCLAIMER: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label . Microchips: For the safety of our dogs and peace of mind of our fosters and adopters, STAR microchips all dogs prior to adoption with Petlink Microchips. Please understand that all dogs MUST still wear a collar with ID tags (which include your current information) AT ALL TIMES. Please remember, our foster dogs are extremely important to us-- we will always take any of our dogs back, if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. Never surrender him/her to a shelter!
